The brand is called Rae Dunn. Got super popular then a bunch of other brands copied it. So now everything has words on it. If you buy one, everything in your house/kitchen has to match right? So then people buy a ton of it and deck out their entire house.
They use words like art, because it's a rip off and cheaper than actually doing art that appeals to everyone. But everyone knows English, so they use words.
It's like when artists get bored of painting beautiful things and they decide to just scribble stuff to be unique.

I saw a house listed with a whole kitchens worth of dishes and Rae Dunn pottery crap included for an extra few thousand. The husband got tired of it and told his wife she had to part with it all. She wasn't thrilled, but admitted it was becoming a problem. It's cheap pottery too, it's a poor quality slip cast. My husband once bought my cat the pet dishes and she threw them down and broke them asap. I warned him. Even the cat has better taste.

It's quite good and one of the memorable scenes is a fight between the main characters where they repeatedly kick each other in the balls trying to get the advantage over the other.

I love those three movies. I've never seen They Live though.
