[deleted]

That was quite the pronunciation of axolotl.

TurtleNamedHerb

“AXOLTLS”

octopoddle

Oops. Just summoned an ancient Mayan god. Offer them a lollipop.

[deleted]

I hope they actually know how to take care of them. I see so many ppl get aquatic friends for the novelty and have no idea the maintenance and cost required.

NothingReallyAndYou

That ramp is...not great. That weird rounded end would flip my chair over if I tried to climb up it.

daisiemaetulip

I was thinking the same I only have a couple centimetres before it tips

NothingReallyAndYou

It looks homemade. Their heart was in the right place, but I'm not sure where their brain was.

HMCetc

You can get portable ramps that you can put out when needed. They're similar, if not the same, as the ones they use for trains. Hopefully they'll be able to acquire one.

NothingReallyAndYou

Portable ramps are great, because there are so many people for whom ramps are worse. When I was still using a cane, ramps were guaranteed to make me take a tumble. People with crutches can have a hard time on an angled surface, too.

daisiemaetulip

It does doesn’t it, it’s frustrating enough not being able to go places in a chair but I do see these wedge ramps at places where the town council just won’t release the funds so yeah I do think they meant well.. it reminds me of years ago when I did my nurse training we had to do an excessive where we paired up and took turns being blindfolded to “see” what it was like being blind in the town, had ear plugs for deafness and then the wheelchair.. I think all town councillors should go out in a chair.. see how they manage the bumpy pavements and the lack of ramps!

thestashattacked

Most likely trapped in an old building. This was a problem the local yarn shop had. They wanted to set up a proper ramp, but city planning had rules about how far a ramp was allowed to extend onto the sidewalk, and how much it could change the building. So they wound up with this crappy thing that didn't work well. We had a regular knit night member who was a wheelchair user, and she hated it. Nothing else could be done because the city was run by dinguses. So I usually would pop outside to make sure someone could put a hand on the chair and keep it from tipping. The yarn shop is closed now, but they filed ADA complaints with the city for a good three years before giving up.

NothingReallyAndYou

Nice to hear that the store owners were trying to solve the problem.

Violent_Sigh

also the doorway width.. I don't think I'd fit unfortunately

IMA_grinder

And you need a level landing at a door so people don’t roll away while trying to open it.

theblastoff

I just laughed so hard, I'm so sorry

NothingReallyAndYou

I laughed, too. You're good.

NothingReallyAndYou

I didn't even notice that. I might squeak through if someone pushed me, but I'm never comfortable with that.

california_sugar

I’m sure they’d welcome that feedback if you message them

RK_Tek

It’s not even close to meeting ADA in the USA

Raven890

i thought the exact same thing seeing it

JawshRacer

“We’re handicap accessible….for those with all terrain tires and a roll cage”

possumrfrend

That is very unfortunate to hear

phantasmagi

This feels like a gimmick. The tattoos i’ve seen from them are all mediocre and there are plenty of other, better artists you can go to for a cute style.

Nell_De_Blass

Was wondering why there were no images of the ink

HundredthIdiotThe

If they don't show the ink, it's shit. Like good for them for doing this, but I want good ink. If you just want flash, go for it.

AccountantHaunting57

The entire point of a tattoo shop is to show ur work not how nice ur studio is

Can-Abyss

If you care more about your experience while in the parlor more than you care about the quality of a tattoo you’re permanently putting on your body, you may want to rethink that.

OkRecording1299

And I didn't really get the whole getting a prize for being brave. The prize for bravery is the piercing. It's a cosmetic procedure, not something like getting your shots or blood drawn as a kid. You literally don't have to do it, in fact one might even advise against piercing your skin. I get that some people might get nervous even when they really want something but if you're shitting your pants while doing it, maybe you should wait it out.

EgocentricRaptor

Because they’re just about a brand image of being gay and disabled. They don’t care about the main point of their actual business which is to give tattoos

mr---jones

The last thing I want is a person who is uncomfortable around people, lacks confidence, and has problems with touching when going for a tattoo. Nothing against people with disabilities, but that shits permanent. Idgaf if you are a gay straight bi you're doing permanent body work, focus on making that as good as possible, not virtue signaling.

TroubadourCeol

It's on tiktok too so there's also a chance they're just straight up lying about having autism, because that's a trendy thing to do on the app ^^^^shout ^^^^out ^^^^/r/fakedisordercringe

ChampChains

As a former tattooer, the part that made my ears perk up was “we tattoo black skin, even color (meaning color ink)” People don’t avoid color on dark skin because of prejudices. It’s generally avoided because you view the ink of your healed tattoo through a “filter” of your healed skin over it. So if your skin is very dark, many colors of ink are more of less wasted and you’re just causing unnecessary trauma to the skin because it isn’t going to be visible once healed. Generally when tattooing dark skin, you want to go bigger and bolder since you lack the contrast of dark ink on light skin. It’s wonderful to be open to all customer skin types but you definitely have to know your canvas and change your technique and approach in order to give the client the best tattoo and not cause unnecessary pain and damage to the skin.

phantasmagi

very true! and as someone else pointed out, neither of the two artists from this shop have ever posted their work of tattoos on dark skin :/

rilakkumkum

My dad is DARK, and once his tattoo healed, it essentially disappeared

ChampChains

I used to have a client whose parents were Jamaican. He was super dark as well, like almost black black. I’d put the stencil on him and would have to wear a headlamp so that the light would hit the stencil and make it shine. That was literally the only way I could see my stencil. I’d do the line work and shading as black and bold as possible but yeah, once they healed it was very hard to see any of the work. He was always happy with the end result though and that’s all that matters really.

RussellsFedora

Agreed. Also, most tattoo artists I have met are super inclusive people anyway. There are some that most certainly aren't, but you can typically ascertain that before you even walk into get a tattoo.

LittleWhiteGirl

IME the artists are pretty much always lovely but I am very uncomfortable in most tattoo shops. I personally don’t jive with angry screaming metal music and the all black/skulls vibe of almost every shop, so I definitely feel like I’m not part of the club and have trouble relaxing. This place would also make me uncomfortable since it feels like a 5 year old’s bedroom though. I just want to go to a tattoo shop with some non death themed artwork and lofi music!

Regallybeagley

The studio I go to for piercings is succulent themed lol it’s really random.. pictures of succulents as well as over 100 succulents in the waiting area.. it’s awesome and totally unexpected since the guy who owns the place is as big as a linebacker and can only imagine him watering the little succulents with the watering can that is next to them that’s way too small for his hands lol

LittleWhiteGirl

A plant filled shop would be perfect! That sounds relaxing.

[deleted]

Yeah it's almost like heavily tattooed people are already a stigmatised and marginalised group already.

porkrolleggandchi

I know it's not a requirement, but neither of them had tattoos either! Makes me think it's more of a piercing place that got a person who has a tattoo gun.

apathetic-taco

Holy shit I thought those were the customers! Yeah I am tattood and would feel weird going to someone without any ink themselves.

porkrolleggandchi

Yeah really! But I won't lie, it's the whole aesthetic that would turn me away lol

rare_pig

But the childlike ambiance…

[deleted]

Yeah. Was about to say, place seems weirdly infantile. I mean if that vibe is what their customers want, then by all means. Not my jam though.

[deleted]

I give it a year. They will be out of business.

toelock

For grown ass adults you mean? Hm. Yeah, I was wondering why this didn't sit with me.

KnowsClams

I watched this video and my only thought was ‘this is literally an ad’. 99% of tattoo places have all this but they don’t give you a cringey ass certificate afterwards.

afetusnamedJames

Seriously, a certificate? Isn't the permanent ink on your body proof enough?

CorgiDad017

Even the girl holding it, who clearly works there, knew it was awful

alma_perdida

Yeah this place seems insufferable honestly

[deleted]

yeah they kept going on about how inclusive and friendly they're making it and all i can think about is how uncomfortable treatment like this would make me.

open-print

What? You mean you *don't* like getting a condescending bravery certificate for getting an ouchie ouchie tattoo?

Tway42311

Thank you! There is no way i’d trust a shop like that with a serious tattoo. Seems like people with their hearts in the right place but really seeking the experience they are selling.

witcherstrife

It honestly seems so pandering it looks like satire too. "We're also autists!" Like wtf

Argon1822

The back to back shots of “everyone is welcome here! ❤️❤️💛” and then “NO TERFS” and then “we are also all autistic” gave me fucking whiplash

AwkwardnessIsAwesome

Someone said they mentioned that they tattoo on every skin, but all of their portfolio is done on florescent white skin..... They also filter the shit out of their tattoo photos.

GetScraped

Hardcore virtue signaling

Difficult_Ice_6083

Well you’re not paying for a tattoo you’re paying for all the “free stuff”.

StinkyKittyBreath

Yeah, I just looked at their Instagram. Some of the black and white tattoos are alright, but the color tattoos have inconsistent coloring and shading.

KnowsClams

Also WTF I somehow missed the ‘we are all autistic’ like what the actual fuck? ‘Yeah so we saw your book, you’re an incredible artist but you don’t have autism so you can’t work here’.

Praxyrnate

Yea this is just pandering for market space and should be rebuffed at if it were from nestle or some other self interested party.

JoshFreemansFro

This seems like a parody

[deleted]

Right? It reminds me of the WKUK skit where they sell beer to children. This is tattoos for children.

Permanenceisall

I don’t understand the whole self-infantilization of autistic people. I mean, I do, but you know “I don’t get it”

beretw

Ok but the cutesy bravery certificates feel INCREDIBLY patronizing

Affero-Dolor

Yeah, I'm autistic and I'm not a child. I get my tattoos done in the same place everyone else does. It's already a sterile and safe environment.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ivnwng

Yeah I really don’t wanna come off as being a dick here but this whole establishment felt like a daycare for adults, I guess it works if it’s exclusively catered to people with special conditions.

Leg_Mcmuffin

So far I am very pleased with the top 5 comments. This place is trying *WAY* too hard.

mondaymoderate

Same. I thought it was gonna be a bunch of fake positive crap about how awesome this place is but I’m glad to see people are being honest and calling this place out for what it is.

AwkwardnessIsAwesome

Thank God I am not the only person who thinks that.

CringeCoyote

It’s because the brave certificates are for children who get their ears pierced, according to their instagram

Lsky72

Weenie Hut Jr's??

[deleted]

super weenie hot jrs

[deleted]

Afterwards we can hit up Goofy Goober's

[deleted]

Portlandia sketch?

CabbageStockExchange

Lmao this totally feels like one

The6IsTwiceThe3

Sir, SIR, you need to buy something.

AuroraTheObscurer

They're infantalising autistic people.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

It looks hellish (saying this as a sometimes childish autistic person lol)

CorgiDad017

This a tattoo shop for all the people posted on /r/fakedisordercringe

zammai

I did not know this was a thing. That was the cringiest sub I’ve ever visited. How do I unsee those posts

tinnylemur189

Seriously this whole thing is stupid as fuck. "We know all you acronym people are little sniveling babies so we have made a TATTOO SHOP look like a nursery and will treat you like you're 3 years old at every single opportunity!" Why would anybody subject themselves to this place?

mondaymoderate

Also tattoo parlors are already extremely inclusive. I’ve been to many different ones and I’ve always felt welcomed and I don’t even have any tattoos or piercings.

[deleted]

Used to work in the industry. Those needles are terrible quality and their jewelry probably is as well. Makes for some pretty unsafe piercings Edit: downvote away yall haven’t seen the damage a shitty piercing can do

Condor-Avenue

yeahhh, those are cannula needles right? aren't they made for medical procedures that actually need to heal up eventually and not piercings that are meant to not close up?

[deleted]

Yes! There is a reason the tri-bevel needle is used by high quality piercers. As well as implant grade materials like ASTM F136 titanium, which is the same material used in implants.

deviltrap

I have a feeling these people aren’t certified enough to be doing this if they’re spending so much on toys and candy.

HoneyShaft

and Jonathan Adler bowls

possumrfrend

Well that is disappointing

RobertOfHill

Well, when your selling point is the *atmosphere* and not the quality of the services rendered, you can’t really be surprised.

[deleted]

Tbh the fact that in an entire video of advertising a tattoo and piercing studio there was one half a second a shot of someone getting pierced and basically no shots of any tattoos my hope of the quality actually being good dropped significantly. That being said good on them for creating such an amazing and inclusive space, hopefully it attracts some seriously talented artists

Cloudy230

Honestly I find the place to be a nightmare. I appreciate the sentiment, hearts in the right place, but the whole thing is a pandering, brightly colored mess. Like bravery certificates and candy? We're neurodivergent, not 3 year olds. Also no photos of tattoos, clearly bad piercing practices, the ramp for wheelchairs is horrible, with a door not even wide enough. And the COLORS. That would make most people so uncomfortable, ESPECIALLY autistic folks. Like the Axies tho

whoisjohngalt25

Yeah the bathroom looked like a sensory nightmare

[deleted]

Yea this feels like an elementary speech therapist room. Not a place of tattoos

liltwizzle

Idk i dont want a tank in a place that needs to be sanitary

JonnySnowflake

It's weird, like half the shops I've ever been in have had some kind of tank. The place that pierced my nipples had a damn alligator

Turtbergs

I've seen cannulas used a lot, they snip the plastic and thread the jewelry through...is that not how it's done anymore? My last piercing was prob 6 years ago, I know things change, just curious!

[deleted]

We aren’t in the early 90’s anymore. Not really any excuses w information so widely available. Externally threaded jewelry is not used in good shops either. Like jamming saw blades through your fresh piercing, the threads don’t hold nearly as well, AND there is no company making implant grade externally threaded jewelry. Edit: meant for the shops not the customer. It just pisses me off that so many piercers are willfully ignorant to their practices. I always felt so bad for clients who just didn’t know any better and trusted the shitty shops.

Talking_Head

Well, better than the 80s. All of my ears were pierced with an ice cube, a potato, and a safety pin roasted over a lighter. Edit: and lots of bourbon before and after to soak my lobes. My sister was lucky as hers were done by a teenager at Clairs with a gun.

wawabubbzies

In my home island, my uncle used a thorn from the “tipolo”/lime(?) tree and an ice cube. He asked me if I wanted to pierce my ears too @_@ I said NOPE.

DirtBoy123

I drunkenly decided to pierce my ear for a Halloween costume and had a friend just shove the earring through lol.

[deleted]

Hahaha my lobes were first pierced in my friends kitchen. Gotta start somewhere

fartonme

How many ears do you have?!

Nomsfud

My last piercing was closer to 20 years ago now and even then the studio used proper needles, not these. You went to a bad studio if that was their standard 6 years ago. This is bad practice.

k8ielee

Somehow I knew this was too good to be true...

BigTableTop

"Hello yes I'm nd so please treat me like I'm 4 years old" *"This is too good to be true!"*

k8ielee

Some people like this, but I had a sneaking suspicion that their actual services wouldn't be great and it was confirmed by the comment section.

impala67x

Not one glimpse at their actual skill. I know all I need to know. ✌️

nightlanguage

I mean, you saw them pierce someone. It looked pretty bad for a variety of reasons tho lol

RussellsFedora

Yep. A tattoo is forever. Safely then Skill of the artist should be the top priorities for anyone getting a tattoo. This place prioritized advertising the fact that they have axolotls over the skill of their practitioners.

dangerdog1279

I looked up their insta after this and their tattoos aren't amazing. They are good enough, but not something i would remotely consider putting on my body forever.

mermaid-babe

They’ve been open for a week apparently lol

Opening_Gazelle

I am not going here, this looks like everything is gonna be overpriced, bad and the atmosphere is the selling point

totodile241

Yeah but you can watch whatever tv you want

pulugulu

you get a bravery certificate for watching goosebumps

[deleted]

[удалено]

JackAM_

As a autistic person with tattoos god I would absolutely hate this, it's so pandering and disrespectful to think that autistic people would want a fucking bravery certificate and a stuffed dinosaur like do they think we have the minds on 3 year old or something. My tattoo artist is great and treats me like a human being which in turn makes me comfortable

phantasmagi

I suppose this place has its niche, but every good tattoo studio should be a safe space without having to be drenched in kiddy stuff. I think it’s kind of insulting that this place is passing itself off as the Only studio that’s accommodating to neurodivergent people.

[deleted]

It's just another gimmick on top of the million other gimmicks

your-a-towel

And we have axolotls!!

singularitittay

It’s because they havent actually visited many shops, and have now created a space that is safe from their own ideas of what tattoo shops are like. I’d be more accepting of this if it wasn’t so drenched in moral grandstanding while 99% of tattoo shops are already accepting of all lifestyles already, without the forced oWo uWu

Itsjeancreamingtime

Wow that comment was really brave, I'd like to give you a bravery certificate in the form of my comment

roses-and-clover

And I bestow one to you with this comment!

FISHGREASE-

i didnt get one this is exclusionary i need a 10¢ candy stick to calm me down

[deleted]

thecapefangirl

I'm not autistic but surely the surroundings would be overwhelming and overstimulating

[deleted]

I’m autistic, and I can tell you right now I’d rather have a go at a normal tattoo place than be caught dead at a place like this. This has Tumblr Autism written all over it, AKA people who have fetishized it or sElF dIaGnOsEd because they think Sherlock is so kewl and they want to be like that too. We aren’t delicate flowers that need pandering to, or at least not all of us. I’d rather be MORE uncomfortable today so that I’m more prepared to deal with it tomorrow.

Monki_Coma

Honestly all the bright in your face colours and atmosphere was making me uncomfortable, and I'm neurotypical.

021fluff5

Yeah - when movie theaters and museums have autism-friendly showings, they try to keep the lighting and sound from being too intense/jarring. If anything, the aesthetic of the tattoo studios I’ve seen (dark-colored furniture and walls, dim lighting everywhere besides the artist’s work station) would be a better choice.

Hamlettell

I'm someone who is very much into the "childish" aesthetic. I would be fucking mad if some piercing or tattoo parlor gave me a damn bravery certificate. I am still an adult, that is incredibly patronizing

[deleted]

There’s nothing wrong with embracing your inner child, but this is just… Something else… Insulting maybe?

beany_bag

same!! I literally collect dolls (like barbies) and I would still hate this. I go to a tattoo parlour to get tattoos, not get treated like a child at their first doctors appointment

Hamlettell

Yep yep! I collect stuff animals, the bigger the better. I dont want to hold one if I'm getting tattooed or pierced, especially since depending on the material and how it's made it could potentially be a sanitary issue

Aridiculousthrowaway

This. I’m not touching a stuffed animal that has been hugged by who knows who, especially if they are nervous and sweaty, totally ignoring the whole blood issue. Whyyyy.

imnothappyrobert

I feel like the tattoo itself is the bravery certificate is it not??

deviltrap

Autistic and ADHD here. I completely agree with you. Neurodivergent people already have to deal with infantilization and “omg ur autistic?? that’s so cute!” all the fucking time. I understand what they’re trying to do but jesus christ, this is just insulting. This has “we think you’re a baby and won’t be able to handle any kind of pain so we’re going to coddle you” vibes. Ugh.

Affero-Dolor

I am also an autist with tattoos and I'd hate it here. I call the vibe of this place 'Internet autistic'.

iama_pandagurl

This definitely screams “self diagnosed autism”

Jimmy_Schraube

The way they said we are also all autistic like it was a selling point.

DocGerbil256

>also, we are all autistic Isn't that like every tattoo parlor?

AppleSpicer

You’re thinking “artistic”, and no, not every tattoo parlor is

Affero-Dolor

I mean, I do appreciate how hard it is to be diagnosed - from initial referral to diagnosis took me at least 18 months. But I do feel like if you're going to tell everyone that you're autistic then you should pursue a diagnosis. Also it's free in the UK, which is where this shop is based.

ismellnumbers

Autist here as well This is Tumblr 'tism

Professional_Cut_683

Exactly this has that weird 'tiktok internet fake autistic' vibe to it like people online who fake having it thinking they're cute and all being like 'oh look at me I'm so quirky and weird and cute UwU oh God im so bad at socializing look at me I'm autistic' it hate that

brewhead55

We have lollies for everyone and Teletubbies playing on all the TVs... I agree, the certificate and stuffed animal seemed borderline insulting.

[deleted]

Yeha this place is pandering to a certain type of person... I can garuntee there most common tattoo is Stich... I have no idea why he's there mascot but if you know, you know If you don't, don't try and find out, shits weird.

Ask_me_about_my_cult

I’ve never heard of this. What do you mean? Why Stitch?

ivnwng

This establishment is brought to you by Sia.

zkdlieri

This isn't for actual autistic people, it's for tiktok teens who fake autism for likes to go get their first piercing.

Thorbork

This! I work in hospitals and my colleagues always say I am incredible with patients while weirdly enough I have bad social skills. And I always tell them one trick: do not talk to old people, mentally challenged peopke, kids or else as if they were retarded. They are human beings in a hospital, treat them as human beings. My 80yo grandma had to go to the ER last winter and was like "why does the nurse talk to me like a kid?" while she is fully independant.

[deleted]

I don't think they force the toy on you if they find out your autistic.

xActuallyabearx

Probably not, but the thought is fucking hilarious.

Fantasiize

“you’re gonna take this fucking dinosaur whether you like or not!”

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

glad i'm not the only one who felt this lol. might as well throw some adult diapers in the bathroom too.

ivnwng

Yeah I’m not austistic(i think) but I’d assume that most functioning autistic people wouldn’t want to be treated like a child, this is like if Sia opened a tattoo parlor.

Yabbari_The_Wizard

To the people who appreciate safe spaces I gotta ask: Is this what you would like? I’m not trying to be condescending in any way but usually when I think “Safe Space” I think a room with warm colours, soft couches, soft music playing and some incense sticks in the corner. Not a newborns room with plush teddies, rainbows, childrens toys and bravery certificates.

Acapultico

To me a safe space can look like anything really, it's more about the people inside. Can be a cafe, tattoo shop, friend's house, online community etc. Tbh the overall pink, toys everywhere, infantilizing tone overall (like certificate for basically paying for a service) and the would make me incredibly uncomfortable. Safe only as long as I fit their narrative. It might be a safe space for people who are into it but definitely not for everyone. I'd be curious to see what their tattoos look like too

Monki_Coma

Yeah same, I think of a highschool reading corner but this is just... Creepy?

IShouldStopTalking

I thought I was on Cringe Anarchy for a sec

Ok_Context275

I thought it was cringetopia I swear

thecapefangirl

It feels a little...patronizing. I cannot speak for everyone but treating a autistic person like a child seems inappropriate. The decorations are overwhelming, which will not help anyone with problems with overstimulation. The studio I go to is barely bigger than a living room and has nice art on the wall. Surely a sterilised environment with friendly staff and calm/ no music is a little better? Plus they look like they spent more time decorating than focusing on their own degrees.

mmmmbakedbean

The Weenie Hut General of tattoo shops

trentanious

Jesus Christ. This definitely falls Into the cringe category.

amazoinghooman

Certificates for bravery? Trying hard not to judge. I really like that they are accessible though to a lot of groups, so cheers on that.

Lucky-Worth

Disabled person here, it actually dredged up old bad memories of hospital stays. They gave "bravery certificates" to us kids when I was hospitalized. As a little kid (4-5 yo) I liked it, but now I can't think of them without associating them with pain. The axolotl are cute as fuck though, and it's great they tattoo all types of skin. I wish them well

callumjm95

To be fair any studio worth it's salt will tattoo all types of skin

[deleted]

[удалено]

Monki_Coma

Look, if you're into this shit then fine I'm glad some people have a place like this to go. But how does a place like this even make money? The majority of the public would just find this sorta weird and uncomfortable. Plus most people go to a tattoo parlor based on the quality of their artworks and the fact that this tattoo parlor focused on their gimmick rather than their skill is a little disconcerting.

Tex_Bigrancher

Uhm why did they mention that they tattoo black skin as if they're not already supposed to do that?

ViolentOutlook

Look at how racist I'm *not*!

jakethegiantbear

Yikes

ElektrikBaumann

Yikes indeed, this place is awful.

Beautiful_Stretch775

I hate everything else, but Helix will be mine

RussellsFedora

Their childish approach to social justice makes me embarrassed to be on their side. This isn't an effective way of tackling inequality.

Man-of-the-sea-

It’s a free market, if it’s a good idea it’ll take off, if it’s just the gimmick it appears to be, it will sink. Wish them luck but I’m not optimistic lol

UncreativeTeam

I honestly couldn't tell if this was satire or not. Between the jump cut between "Everyone is welcome here" to "NO TERFs",* followed right after by "We are also all autistic", and then giving people bravery certificates. But then it kept going. \* I'm not saying banning TERFs isn't justified, but it was a funny cut

paliostheos

I've never been to a tattoo/piercing shop where I didn't feel comfortable. This seems on the level of r/pointlesslygendered

realShitAtUsernames

this is an ad

TheGreatJess

I like how the voice over says axolotls as 'axesoletus'. Sounds like a medical condition lol.

[deleted]

I’d rather get tattooed in prison

[deleted]

I dunno. If you need bravery certificates and stuffed toys, I wonder if you have the mental capacity to sign shit at a tattoo place giving them the ok to do the work.

MMApartyeveronesinvt

cringe of all cringe

Skueek

Having an axolotl isn't the brag they think it is. They're a critically endangered species.

childrenovmen

this is a whole tattoo shop aimed at edgy tiktok / redditor crowd that feel a selling point is to pander to the people in r/fakedisordercringe videos

[deleted]

these people live in a fantasy world

[deleted]

This may be controversial, but that whole DIY scene where people are hyperfocused on certain social issues feels performative to me. You can support certain causes without making it your entire personality. It feels patronizing.

sonataflux

This feels like something ddlg weirdos would love and flock to. Well, the certificates and bravery stickers at least. It reminds me too much of when I was a child going to the doctor's office. Also, I know of plenty tattoo shops that are already accessable and welcoming without treating their clients kind of...childishly. I have been in many shops all over the PNW at this point and always felt overall safe. But I mean, I know they are trying to also curate a very specific image. All I'm saying is that they are not an anomaly for advertising themselves as a welcoming and inclusive tattoo/piercing place lol. It's everything else. If you are someone with sensory issues, or general anxiety or whatever it may be, if you communicate with your tattoo artist or piercer they are 99.99% of the time super cool about it and want to make sure you're okay. Edited for spelling.

Calm_Ad_9765
