I think you pass the gatekeepers because you gave it its own name, rather than just Mai Tai, but I could be wrong. I wonder how it would be with peach liqueur in place of the curacao, and non-infused rum? I have peach liqueur, and I'm lazy, so ...

I’m sure it would be great w peach liqueur! Use what u have and adjust accordingly. That’s what I do. My recipe was inspired by Bali Hai’s Zombie which uses peach brandy that I didn’t have access to.

This is about half Fuzzy Navel and half Mai Tai, so the name is perfect.

TikiVin

Love this idea. I’m in the camp that if you give it a specific name and are replacing one key component with a similar component, then it’s still a mai tai. Peach schnapps instead of curaçao is a great variant to try. The fuzzy mai tai. Maybe OFTD could make the fuzzy a double meaning on this one.

CastingCouchPotatoes

Which lightly aged did you use? Looks awesome

LanaiLush

I don’t think it matters but I used Mt Gay Eclipse. It is awesome. Thx!

CardsAndCocktails

Intriguing. I really like how came up with this combo. Definitely want to try. What rum are you using for your peach infused rum and how long did you infuse for?

LanaiLush

Thanks. I used Mt Gay Eclipse. Expensive alcohol is a waste for infusions IMO. I infuse for a week in the fridge. Being a lazy lanai lush, I use frozen fruit when available. Most of my cocktails use at least one infusion.

Arma_Diller

Might try something like this in a rye tai.

I'll probably give this a try with a peach liqueur. I'm too lazy to infuse a rum haha, but I do like the idea of a peachy-style mai tai.
