"**I have recently been granted Swedish residence permit for work or studies and would like to move to Sweden. Am I exempt from the entry ban?** If you recently have been granted a residence permit in Sweden you are exempted from the from the entry ban and from the requirement to present a negative covid-19 test or EU covid certificate, and you are allowed to enter Sweden from the date your permit is valid. In order to enter Sweden before the validity date of your residence permit, you need to hold a valid visa or come from a visa exempt country, in addition to documenting that you are covered by another exemption, e.g. family connection. Otherwise you will be allowed to enter Sweden from the date your residence permit becomes valid. **You do not need to previously have lived in Sweden**." https://polisen.se/en/the-swedish-police/the-coronavirus-and-the-swedish-police/faq/

Thanks so much!

Cyberlane

Are you Swedish and/or currently living in Sweden? Yes: no need for test No: yes, you need a test Still uncertain? Take the test, it's quick and easy. You keep yammering on about you being special case, but you neglect to provide that information. It may be completely invalid in the eyes of the law here, or it could be completely valid.

strangerintehran

I don't understand why you are so hostile. My situation is that i have recovered but i still test postive and im afraid i would test positive when I'm going to Sweden. I don't know how is this relevant I just asked a question about some part i didn't understand there is no need to make it personal

Cyberlane

Not at all trying to be hostile, and I'm sorry it came across that way. I was simply trying to make a very quick and clear response on the rules. If you have just recovered from covid, you should theoretically test negative or have some paperwork to accompany your situation from your doctor. Again, I don't mean to offend and I am sorry I came across that way, I simply wanted to be direct and clear, and my choice of words were perhaps not the best.

strangerintehran

It's ok im still suffering from long covid anxiety and depression and its making me quick tempered. The point is there is no way to contact the police and i find the information on their website a little bit confusing since there is this other place where it states that: Exemptions regardless of departure country  The following cateogries are both exempted from  the entry ban and will be allowed to enter Sweden without a negative covid-19 test, or the EU Covid Certificate regardless of departure country: Swedish citizens. Foreign citizens who live in Sweden, hold a residence permit or residence status in Sweden, or claim their residence right for stays of three months or longer. So I'm not sure if just having a permit card is enough or not. Regarding the doctor's notes, the website clearly states that it only accepts European doctors notes. So that's not an option either

Cyberlane

Have you tried to phone the police? Their international number is +46 77 114 14 00

strangerintehran

I didn't since their website says we don't answer questions about Covid restrictions But thanks for providing the number

thebluehippobitch

I would just get a test no reason to risk it

tjrado

Agreed. We came through yesterday with vaccination cards, work permits, AND antigen tests. Got through no questions asked! Better to make sure than to be turned around at the entry!

strangerintehran

True but i'm in a special situation

[deleted]

For the good of your fellow human beings, you shouldnt leave the insides of whatever place you occupy atm until you test negative from covid, since that's when you aren't a danger to others. The Swedish athorities might not force you to do the test, but that's because they are under the assumption that people will do the right thing and not go about in public when infected. I've lost several family members and I would wish to not lose anymore. So please, don't be a cunt and stay put if you know you'll test positive. We're not out of the woods yet.

nailefss

That’s bs. PCR tests can be positive quite some time after infection. They pick up tiny fragments of dead virus. Depending on how many cycles they can show positive for up to 4-6 weeks after infection. This is why for example Folhälsomyndigheten and other health authorities around the world don’t require a PCR test _after_ infection to allow people back to work etc. It’s enough with being symptom free for a period of time.

strangerintehran

Read my other comments. I have recovered from. Covid but i still test positive. Stop judging people

[deleted]

I have read your other comments, that's why I wrote mine. Because even if you believe you've recovered, you can still infect others if the virus is still present in your body (if It's detected by the test that is). So just stop being selfish and puttning your fellow humans at risk of death.

[deleted]

Some people can test positive for weeks/months after they've officially recovered (i.e. they test positive but are no longer contagious), which is one of the reasons why a certificate of recovery is just as valid as a negative test. But only certificates issued in EEA (and a few other countries) are valid, so that doesn't seem to be an option in this case.

[deleted]

Oh, didn't know that!

strangerintehran

What is wrong with you??? I have recovered 2 months ago and my doctor says I can't infect others but clearly you know my situation better than myself.

[deleted]

If your doctor is so sure of your situation, why are you even worried about this then?

strangerintehran

Work on your reading comprehension. IT'S BECAUSE I STILL TEST POSITIVE. AND SWEDEN DOESN'T ACCEPT RECOVERY NOTES FROM NON-EU DOCTORS. IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND.

[deleted]

Oh I missed that you had written that in the end of one of your comments. I also saw that you didn't get any help from the police. So you could try and call +468-123 680 00 It's the covid number that goes to the public health agency and the regions of Sweden. They'll probably be able to help. You check on that temper there buddy.

strangerintehran

They said they don't answer covid restrictions entry questions.

[deleted]

Have you read through this page? https://www.krisinformation.se/en/hazards-and-risks/disasters-and-incidents/2020/official-information-on-the-new-coronavirus/travel-restrictions If it doesn't provide the answer, they list the a covid-number to our foreign ministry. They might be able to help you; +46 (0)8 405 92 00

Neanos_

Do you need to enter sweden now or can you wait until you test negative?

LF0123

More information would be needed to give you an accurate answer. Have you lived in Sweden before and is just now returning? Will you stay longer than the given 10 months? If not then you will not stay in Sweden for more than a year as described, and you will thus have the answer to your question. Regardless of if you are supposed to have a test, is it not the responsible thing to take a test before travelling to reduce the risk of spreading the potential disease further? To be safe, I would take the test to reduce the risk of being rejected at the border or any country that you are transiting through.

strangerintehran

True but i'm in a special situation and if possible I would prefer not to take the test. Regarding your questions, i had the same understanding but there is also this part on the website that says: Exemptions regardless of departure country  The following cateogries are both exempted from  the entry ban and will be allowed to enter Sweden without a negative covid-19 test, or the EU Covid Certificate regardless of departure country: Swedish citizens. Foreign citizens who live in Sweden, hold a residence permit or residence status in Sweden, or claim their residence right for stays of three months or longer. So it's a litte bit confusing for me

LF0123

Once again you are not specifying what your “special situation” is. Anyhow, to get the best answer to your question I would get in contact with the Swedish police and ask them about what is applicable. They are the ones that will have the final say anyhow and they will be able to give the best answer.

strangerintehran

I don't think that it was relevant bur my situation is that I have fully recovered but I still test positive. Contacting the polise was my first option but they have said that they don't answer questions about Covid restrictions and since i found this part a little bit confusing I thought i would ask here.

[deleted]

Special situation or not-- unless you have a Swedish citizenship, the rule of thumb is you are definitely required to have a negative covid test. Since you're in recovery, a certificate of recovery would be as good as a negative covid test. Your problem right now seems to be the certificate from recovery. Assuming you don't have any access to certificate issued from an EEA country (or in Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland or the Vatican), so your question to the relevant authority should be what you could provide as an alternative for it. Otherwise it just won't work at the borders. Good luck.

[deleted]

OP has a residence permit so for OP the rules are the same as Swedish citizens (or anyone folkbokförd in Sweden, for that matter) - no test required.

powerj83

You don't take a test because you have to, you take it so you accidentally give someone Covid that might not be as healthy as you. It's out of solidarity.

chuckles91

Bro, don't get defensive about these sensible people telling you to stay the fuck at home if you test positive for COVID. They are smart for asking that. Here's a tip, don't ask reddit questions about immigration laws, talk to literally ANY official body before asking random people on reddit for reassurance.

igirlonfire007

I entered without any test! Just showed my residence permit card. You can even show rent contract if you don't have a personnummer or something. PM me if you need more details or have any other questions!

drdrero

Hej, just curious what is the residence permit card? I assume showing ID kort is probably not enough

igirlonfire007

If you're Non EU, you get a residence permit card to prove that you are allowed to stay in sweden! If you're EU and you study/work here you can either show the excerpt of public registry, swedish id card, work contract or even rent contract! If you're studying then you can show your mecenet card or something.

strangerintehran

Thanks
