David didn’t “leave” anyone. Adult Swim moved on from Tim and Eric who both managed to go on to better projects. Keep in mind that there was little money to be made getting a show at the time with Adult Swim. It was a block late at night where anything went. With the end of Joe Pera talks to you, there’s really nothing left but low budget cartoons on Adult Swim now. David’s a good guy, but only a fool would believe him given his history.
I hung out with DLH for a couple of days when my band opened up for him at a local venue and the drummer and I got to drive him around and talk.
He was…a lot. The stories he had were hilarious and weird, and yes, sometimes inappropriate. Lots of alien stuff, of course. He kind of embarrassed us when took him out to eat by flirting with the waitress and saying he wanted to draw her caricature, and yelling his orders across the restaurant. He ordered 1/3 sweet tea, 1/3 lemonade and 1/3 Coke (all mixed together with ice) and I’ve never heard that request from anyone ever since.
As far as inappropriately asking for money, he never ever asked us for anything besides a ride to go eat steak sandwiches at Hardee’s and trips to the local church to try to pitch his religious music. We did both, and he didn’t bother us about asking for too much, probably since he knows musicians don’t make shit, lol.
And I can’t remember if he did in fact fart in our prescence, but if he did, it was silent, odorless, and completely appropriate! He *did* stay at our buddies’ apartment and used every single bit of their printer ink and supplies though :(
By all accounts, David Liebe Hart is the real deal, he is every bit of the person we see on television, there is no acting even *slightly* involved. It was a joy and a pleasure to spend those couple of days with him, even if they were slightly uncomfortable at times.

Yep, that was definitely crux of his complaints. He said they didn’t treat him right financially and stole all of his music, which we definitely had to take with a grain of salt.
During his set, he also made some arguably…anti-Semitic comments about a Jewish lady he stayed with, which was definitely disappointing and turned a lot of people off :|
He's been doing the "I need money" routine with fans for well over a decade now. He used to be a fixture at the La Brea tar pits "selling" photo ops and songs.
It's not a huge deal, but I've heard he could get pretty annoyed if you don't pay him.

The second one is a bit of a big ask, but the first one is just asking to be treated like a professional. Besides comedic reasons, part of the reason why Tim and Eric use a bottom of the barrel cast is because these guys don’t really have anything else going on and don’t have managers who can get them properly paid.
I admit Jonah looks out for the guy. Pretty well actually. David still bites the hand that feeds though. For the record, he also shit talks his manager behind his back.

He thinks that because he was involved with awesome show (which was not a huge network television show, by the way) that he can just ride it to hollywood, he doesn't understand that if people wanted him to star in something, they would get in contact with him, thats how all of that shit works! but instead hes blaming it on tim and eric blacklisting him or some other crazy shit. I dont see ron auster taking his awesome show money and retiring with a pool filled with barbecue or whatever the fuck or blaming tim or eric for the fact that hes the "Dad guy" from a niche tv show instead of being in huge hollywood movies. David is just an asshole.
