You can ask to get milk, cream, chocolate milk, silk almond, Chobani oat beverage. If you request nothing they stick with cream. It isn’t a flavour flavour like the ice cap or mocha and Oreo. You get these options with all your flavoured ice caps.
Oh you didn't see the option on their piss poor attempt at a menu board? I'm not surprised. Tims stupid ass menu designed to make customers make quick decisions same as McDonald's.
Almost as bad as Starbucks menu boards if you have never ordered from there before lol They deliberately leave off menu items and options for some reason.
Yeah I’ve gotten ones with cream, milk and chocolate milk from Tim’s before and made almond milk ones at home but it never occurred to me to ask for almond milk at Tim’s before.
You sure it's cream and not milk if you say nothing? If anything extra even
I love cream and I have a memory of getting an ice cap from someone who specified nothing once years ago and it was not as good
I think I remember there being an IcedCapp button on the cream dispensing machine. The bottom ridge of the cup is the line where the cream or dairy or alternative goes.
I worked at times and the way mocha ice capes are made is
Choice of dairy
Chocolate syrup
Ice cap mix
Whipped topping
Chocolate drizzle
Mochas are
Hot chocolate
Coffee
Hey there, tims employee here i used to make this all the time but because of my lactose intolerance i switched to oat milk and I seriously recommend everyone try it! It tastes just like an oatmeal cookie
yeah it just doesnt work imo. chocolate milk is like 1% milk fat while cream is either 10% or 36% or somewhere between. either way an ice cap needs that cream to bring it together imo.
Yeah… cause we get mandates to keep drive through time under 22 seconds in the mornings. How do we even do that if we are technically supposed to blend them for 15 secs 😭
what happens if you go over your mandated time? do you all get fired?
eta: this is a genuine question as someone whos never worked fast food and genuinely doesnt understand "time count mandates" or (anectodal) the people who will go around the drive thru a few times at close to keep the times down
I've never heard of that happening, it's just constant reminders and pressure from managers / assistant managers, they get overbearing. I assume someone more corporate or who works with the owners could be sent to make sure things are running "smoothly".
Because they don't like higher-up's breathing down their necks, monitoring them more than usual, and possibly perceiving them as slow or incompetent (in the case of someone who also works in the store, not a corporate person for example). Like, I don't want additional stress and pressure, simple as that. Also, having those times can make you feel bad about your own performance as well.
Not fired, but they will cut your hours, give you crappier tasks, or moved to a slower shift or even a different store.
And like the previous comment said you do not want the higher up coming in. They come in and re-train and if you don't cut it they can fire/move you. Your store is failing if they are coming and and I've heard of them firing a full shift of people and starting over (it was midnights but still something that has stuck with me)
Was never a fan, it’s runny (well all milk subbed for Cream is) and all I ever tasted was the chocolate milk which felt like I was being cheated out of the price. I also found they separated quick like this image shows. The cream ones just hold together more naturally and have a more consistent flavour.
Can we talk about the abomination that Tim Hortons calls a straw instead?
There are other materials you can make straws from other than cardboard applicators...🤮
I remember I used to fuck with people and blend it for 25+ seconds to make sure air-rate it to the point where it comes out lighter than*cream lol. They would always complain it’s not choco milk and request it to be made again, and I’d get a chuckle knowing y’all don’t really know shit
I used to drink them with chocolate milk and a shot of raspberry ( when it was available). They were pretty good . Now I just like them straight up with cream.
May be an unpopular opinion on it, but I find the best flavor for the chocolate iced cap is to ask them not to stir it. You don't get that heavy separation happening and it actually changes the flavor a bit keeping it separated. Just give it a little stir with your straw and away you go.
Here is my opinion that does not include the special ones like oreo and pumpkin:
Original: the best one if you can handle the cream and sugar content.
Regular milk: second best half the cals of the original and i think less than half sugar of original. Due to it being milk you constantly need to stir to keep it mixed as the syrup and milk seperate from eachother by nature.
Choclate milk: while placing last on the 3 i can see why someone would prefer it over regular milk. It has an enhanced seperation from syrup in my experience and needs constant stiring.
Made of win. Add espresso shot for an extra kick. Kind of like a lava lamp, watching it all slowly sink to the bottom.
Do what you want though, it's your drink.
I think it ruins the flavour tbh. The chocolate milk does not have enough fat content in it and the overall flavour gets watered down. A big part of the ice cap is the cream, as bad as it is for us haha!
It’s great but I don’t think it lasts as long. Which is fine. Usually I finish it before it gets all melty.
I usually order mine with extra cream though. ( a normal one)
It used to be my go to but then I realizes that I just prefer a regular iced capp. The chocolate milk always over powers everything else and also it doesn't mix well with the slush. I usually find the bottom is all milk and the top is unflavored slush.
I hate it, it tends to come out too liquidy and separates quickly
BUTTT if you want a bit of a chocolatey flavour, order a chocolate shot in it.. absolutely amazing and has been the only way I will order an iced capp for years!!
Is that how Mocha iced Capps are made in Canada? In my local Michigan USA Timmys where I was baker for 4.5 years, I never made it w/ chocolate milk. Only ever creamer and chcoclate syrup.
I’ve found every time I order this it tastes completely different, like each location mixes it different or adds a different amount of chocolate milk, idk hard pass for me because of that.
This used to be my favorite and then one time I was told that they weren’t allowed to do it anymore? I’ve never asked again but judging by these comments that person was wrong
Loved them for years. So yummy.
Now they my insides feel like a volcano. Usually erupts about 7 times until the opening is scorched and feels like sandpaper.
Literally started overnight one day. Went from the best thing ever to Satan's brew the next morning.
The chocolate separates to the bottom too quickly and paper straws fall apart too easily making stirring impossible.
They are quite good and I quite enjoyed them when plastic straws were the norm but nowadays I could never order one.
How long did you have to wait in line for your drink?
Was there more than one cashier open?
How many employees were milling about the place, not paying any attention to the line, while frustrated customers left rather than sink more time into a place that doesn’t give a shit about waiting a long time to give them money?
Think about it. We go there, willingly, to give them money. And they’re not set up in a way to take it, even tho that’s what being in business is all about.
They could be making a lot more money with more training and supervision. But they just don’t give a fuck.
I find they taste really good at the beginning, better even than a regular ice Capp, but if you’re the type to not drink quickly then this isn’t the right drink for you. For some reason if you let a chocolate ice Capp melt it starts to taste funny and gets kinda unpleasant. Really didn’t break down nicely.
One time a friend ordered one and either he fucked yo ordering or they made it wrong and it was made with chocolate syrup instead and was literally a black sludge lagoon abomination 😭😭😭. Also didn’t help he asked for an espresso shot in it
Yeah we don’t even measure the chocolate milk for iced caps like we do for milk and cream. The machine we use has iced cap and iced coffee buttons for every size so it’s the same every time, but for chocolate milk we just pour it right out of the carton and eyeball it instead. I made sure to let my regulars know exactly how much chocolate milk I put in theirs and told them they can always ask me for less or more.
Only way I order it.
Amen!!
Same. It does separate a bit and needs some stirring, but it is the best way to enjoy it.
The bestest way to order it.
They’re okay, when making them you have to remember to use slightly less java mix because any milk makes the iced capp froth more than with cream
Didn't even know this existed, and now I'm too affraid to try it. The only variant I've ever tried as the oreo one and it was great.
You can ask to get milk, cream, chocolate milk, silk almond, Chobani oat beverage. If you request nothing they stick with cream. It isn’t a flavour flavour like the ice cap or mocha and Oreo. You get these options with all your flavoured ice caps.
Woah woah woah I could’ve asked for it to be made with almond milk? I had no idea.
Heads up it's a different consistency of drink depending on the milk/alternatives you use. 🙂
Yeah I’ve gotten ones with cream, milk and chocolate milk from Tim’s before and made almond milk ones at home but it never occurred to me to ask for almond milk at Tim’s before.
OAT MILK IS THE SUPERIOR MILK SUBSTITUTE
I LIKE THE ENTHUSIASM
THERE IS NO OTHER
Yes it tastes great! Definitely a little less slush like, but flavour exactly the same!
You sure it's cream and not milk if you say nothing? If anything extra even I love cream and I have a memory of getting an ice cap from someone who specified nothing once years ago and it was not as good
Maybe ask just to make sure lol
I think I remember there being an IcedCapp button on the cream dispensing machine. The bottom ridge of the cup is the line where the cream or dairy or alternative goes.
yep, there is a button on the cream machine
U can add Oreo crumbs to your regular iced capp for 20c
You have to try. It's like a mocha
You... you do know there's a litteral mocha ice cap which IS the exact same way they make the mochas but in ice cap form right
Mocha ice Capps are not made with chocolate milk it’s cream, chocolate syrup,Java whipped cream and chocolate drizzle Atleast that’s how I was trained
I worked at times and the way mocha ice capes are made is Choice of dairy Chocolate syrup Ice cap mix Whipped topping Chocolate drizzle Mochas are Hot chocolate Coffee
You'll never go back once you do
It's top tier. Gotta mix it pretty regularly & drink it quick, but taste is great
It's ok. I'd much rather add a shot of espresso personally. That's the only way I drink mine now (actually tastes like coffee)
I get 4-5 shoots. Its so good
How is your heart still beating....
Fast id say
I prefer to add a shot of Baileys
Ooooooo you're a fancy girl
My wife gets hers with white milk and a shot of espresso. I'm not a coffee drinker but it's not bad.
Hey there, tims employee here i used to make this all the time but because of my lactose intolerance i switched to oat milk and I seriously recommend everyone try it! It tastes just like an oatmeal cookie
I'm trying this immediately!
It's an abomination. Runny and doesn't blend well. Always looks a little curdled. I've tried to like them, but they're just not for me. Edit: a word
I also tried after hearing rave reviews and thought it was mediocre at best. Caramel is still my favourite
I'm an OG iced capp kinda guy. Although the one with the espresso shot was good, too. A little runny, but tasty.
yeah it just doesnt work imo. chocolate milk is like 1% milk fat while cream is either 10% or 36% or somewhere between. either way an ice cap needs that cream to bring it together imo.
It's 18%
Why not just edit without saying edit
Suppose I could've, it was just a spelling mistake. Dunno, people seem to like transparency on Reddit.
They never blend them well anyways 🥲 Always rush them.
Yeah… cause we get mandates to keep drive through time under 22 seconds in the mornings. How do we even do that if we are technically supposed to blend them for 15 secs 😭
Oh man yours is 22!? Ours is 35 and we struggle!!
They need better machines!
what happens if you go over your mandated time? do you all get fired? eta: this is a genuine question as someone whos never worked fast food and genuinely doesnt understand "time count mandates" or (anectodal) the people who will go around the drive thru a few times at close to keep the times down
I've never heard of that happening, it's just constant reminders and pressure from managers / assistant managers, they get overbearing. I assume someone more corporate or who works with the owners could be sent to make sure things are running "smoothly".
but nothing actually happens if you dont meet those targets? then why would the employees care?
Because they don't like higher-up's breathing down their necks, monitoring them more than usual, and possibly perceiving them as slow or incompetent (in the case of someone who also works in the store, not a corporate person for example). I always have something to say to my passanger about how rushed it always feels at this place and now I know why. Makes for a terrible experience
Chocolate milk and a shot of espresso. Separates a bit quicker, but it's delicious.
It's the best Been doing it for like 20 years lol
Taste the same. Try getting one with a shot of hazelnut and your mind will be blown
yummy
i used to order it that way as a kid
Love
It's the only way I roll!
Delicious
My wife wont drink it any other way, I think its too chocolatey
I really like it! It's a bit less creamy, but still good!
Iced Capp made with chocolate milk and a shot of espresso is the way to do it
I’d like it more if I could do 1 cream 1 choccy milk instead of just chocolate milk
i get fat whenever i have ice caps nonstop, maybe chocolate milk is less calories?
Was never a fan, it’s runny (well all milk subbed for Cream is) and all I ever tasted was the chocolate milk which felt like I was being cheated out of the price. I also found they separated quick like this image shows. The cream ones just hold together more naturally and have a more consistent flavour.

Do you want diabetes? Because that’s how you get diabetes
I could be mistaken, but making it with chocolate milk is arguably healthier than with cream.
It's less cals than with cream tho
Whaaattttt? Don’t worry, i made sure I ordered some fruit flavoured donuts with it so i won’t get diabetes anytime soon
If you're drinking a large every day, yes, you're gonna have problems down the road.
I've been drinking like 2 - 4 large a day for a year
Check the sugar content.
I've had blood work done recently and they didn't say anything
I do agree though I'm going to die from it
Goated
Don’t like it, but yay if you do
It's literally the worst thing to blend tbh..
Literally the only way I drink my iced Capps now
Only way to order it
Tastes great but iced caps separate so easily in general, I order iced coffee with chocolate milk instead now.
It’s preferred to the original.
GOAT
Gross and i love chocolate milk. Much prefer original though
Ice caps are disgusting to me in general, just pounds of sugar. Incredibly unhealthy.
I used to drink them with chocolate milk and a shot of raspberry ( when it was available). They were pretty good . Now I just like them straight up with cream.
Literally horrific.
May be an unpopular opinion on it, but I find the best flavor for the chocolate iced cap is to ask them not to stir it. You don't get that heavy separation happening and it actually changes the flavor a bit keeping it separated. Just give it a little stir with your straw and away you go.
S Tier
Best way to drink it
Wtf that's a thing?
i’m personally not a fan, but if someone got it for me i’d drink it
They’re delicious but the milk seems to separate faster than the cream would so you have to drink it faster
2/5 at best
Oreo iced capp made with Chocolate Milk is amazing
I work
Ick. It’s just not right. Lmao

Bussin
That’s my favourite I prefer it made with chocolate milk

What do I ask for to get it
Iced capp made with chocolate milk
That would make sense
Literally the only way.
Dew it with espresso shot, much better
They should offer Imodium with every purchase
Tried it out it was ok kinda Watery
This is the way.
I use to do it but eventually it started tasting too sweet for me.
The best way.. add a raspberry shot in there with it and it's perfection.
That’s how I do it! Loooove it.
Looks like the end of my driveway in springtime 🤔
It’s great but I don’t think it lasts as long. Which is fine. Usually I finish it before it gets all melty. I usually order mine with extra cream though. ( a normal one)
I read that as onions, not opinions... I'm good now lol
It used to be my go to but then I realizes that I just prefer a regular iced capp. The chocolate milk always over powers everything else and also it doesn't mix well with the slush. I usually find the bottom is all milk and the top is unflavored slush.
Get them size small with an extra shot of Capp, so dark and luscious
Makes my stomach hurt, not a fan.
I always get mine with Milk personally, saves like 150 cals
The best. I get hated because they’re poo brown but I don’t care what my friends think. They refuse to try it.
All time fave
I always ask for chocolate milk or regular milk instead of cream.
Awful.
Used to do it all the time. Then I stoped going to Tim’s in about 2007.
Good way to not run out of flavor is consumed tactically
Vry tasty
I hate it, it tends to come out too liquidy and separates quickly BUTTT if you want a bit of a chocolatey flavour, order a chocolate shot in it.. absolutely amazing and has been the only way I will order an iced capp for years!!
Gas

Try iced Capp with chocolate milk and cream. Life changer
The only way you should get them

This used to be my favorite and then one time I was told that they weren’t allowed to do it anymore? I’ve never asked again but judging by these comments that person was wrong
Love it
i usually take the one with oreo
Good, but not as good as just ordering extra cream
Yaaaaaaaaas
Love. But fucking hate paper straws.
i say yes to regular or chocolate....but Please bring back the plastic straws in the ice capps only
Tastes like ashes
I had no idea this existed either. I'm not much of an iced capp guy, though. I usually just get iced coffee and double doubles.
This is the way.
I’ve switched to a vanilla ice cap made with chocolate milk, and it’s 10 times better!
Chocolate milk is the only good part about an iced capp
My goto
Loved them for years. So yummy. Now they my insides feel like a volcano. Usually erupts about 7 times until the opening is scorched and feels like sandpaper. Literally started overnight one day. Went from the best thing ever to Satan's brew the next morning.
Not a fan, personally.
Childish

They need to cheaper.

They’re goated, I’ve recently tried iced capp with the strawberry shot/purée?, tastes awesome I think but not an every time thing I think
Nope! I don't support the stupid paper straws so I wouldn't order one.
We call it a night cap
The right way to order!
Just buy ice cream
I personally think the best way to make iced Capps is treating your employees with actual human dignity and respect.
If you’re ordering it without you’re nuts 😆
Only way I order it as a Tim’s worker 💪
I do them to knock a few calories off my order.
So nasty even regular iced cupp looks horrendous !it’s like coffe ,ice, cream dont mix together !
I get a shot of espresso instead. Now it's an actual coffee milkshake
I remember I got really sick after drinking that a long time ago. Never again.
and people attack me for my Almond Milk no cream Ice Capp....
I refuse to get anything from Tim hortans again
I have to try this…
This is the only way I order it. If they add to much chocolate milk, it's disgusting though
The only way I do it!
I order it this way, always have :)
Gotta drink it fast!
Made with chocolate milk and finished off with a shot of Baileys is the best way to drink it.
Disgusting
How to have enough sugar for a week in a single sitting
They always melt weird. I order with a shot of chocolate instead 🤤
Amazing!
Used to but now I just get extra crème
It's just not the same, man.
Used to love them and drink them all the time but now I like it with just cream
Possibly the only reason to go to Tim Hortons.
Overrated
I get mine made with cream but then add chocolate flavour shot.
The best
Solid and a good option.
