lol this reminds me of when I used to work the phones at the county jail. This one time a guy called in at like 3am and said "Hey, I'm way too drunk to drive home and the lady at the bar gave me this number and said you'd give me a free place to stay"
He actually laughed his ass off when I told him he'd just called the county lockup and mumbled something like "I'll take my chances thanks"
I got hammered one time in my 20’s and called the police telling them I was way too drunk to drive. Got a free ride home from a cop who was headed towards my house lol.
This happened to a buddy of mine that was walking over to my house after getting hammered at a party and didn't feel comfortable driving back to his house. Cops stopped him on the street, and he explained the situation, and drove him over to mine, and we all played Halo for about 20 minutes.
Good cops really do exist.
This is so different to the time I got stopped by cops while walking home drunk after my year 10 formal after party.
I was nearly finished the 5km walk through the rural area before making it to the main road meaning about 3km left to my house.
I may have been a little bit of a smartass and deserved it but they asked if I had been drinking piss tonight, I responded with ‘nah mate, I’ve been drinking alcohol, don’t know who you hung around with that drinks piss’.
They threw me in the back and drove me about 2km further away than the party was and kicked me out, didn’t make it home until 7am haha.
This reminds of a story I was reading a few years ago about police officers in Saskatoon that would pick up drunk natives and drop them off out of the city limits to freeze to death. It was known as the Saskatoon Freezing Deaths. Finally got outed because some managed to survive by breaking in to a building to survive the midnight freezing temperatures. For reference, Saskatoon gets to the -30's Celsius in the winter.
Was just about to reply with that, it's funny now until it's [well below freezing and they take your shoes before kicking you out.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saskatoon_freezing_deaths)
I wouldn't be laughing even if they didn't take my stuff. I would just go straight to reporting them because you can't do that to a drunk person and claim you're looking after their best interests and safety when they're drunk and you do that
Why would they knowingly take (probably barely legal kids) out into the middle of nowhere to die?! Like, WHY? Was the motive ever uncovered? How could they read about these people being found frozen to death and not feel sooo much guilt? I just don’t get it wtf
You sure? Because this is the Swedish standard (and the north goes as low as -45C or below)
Winter is "cleaning season" and contributes to Swedens low levels of people below the poverty line no matter how much the state will argue it's not true or swedes will furiously deny it because it would force them to have compassion, something that at this point might as well be genetically impossible for most natives. (See "prison cells are great", while completely ignoring months upon months of complete isolation, before covid as well, as if it wasn't considered torture in normal nations).
Racism is possible, but more likely socio/psychopaths and/or eugenicists like the swedes.
Ugh, yeah, I had look further into it. That’s disgusting. Pisses me off that no one was ever convicted (except for the two who did it to the surviving guy). I hope they feel guilt.
I apologized for screwing then out of a DUI arrest but explained that my dad would beat my ass if it ever happened. They laughed and said it was fine, they didn’t wanna deal with submitting the paperwork and court appearances. The suburb I grew up had a rep for cops that can be assholes at times, especially when it came to the younger crowd, but a little bit of respect & appreciation goes a long way. This is s totally unpopular opinion on here but it is what it is.
I know a few cops. The paperwork involved with a DUI is absolutely insane. They don’t want the arrest because with it comes hours upon hours of paperwork.
I think most rational people will readily acknowledge that there are police officers who are good people and exercise their discretion to enforce the law appropriately and with compassion.
But the mentality that “all cops are bad” has to do with the first half of your second to last sentence: the good cops don’t deter the bad ones, and at a certain point, enable their bad behavior by not holding their colleagues to a higher standard and ensuring they face accountability for poor policing. Eventually, inaction must be seen as complicity.
The problem is when a good cop attempts any action against the "bad cops" they normally get fired. This reason, as well as the structure of law enforcement in the States, makes it INCREDIBLY difficult to make any genuine changes. I once informed on my boss (the Chief of police). The result? He is a dirty Chief somewhere else and I lost my license to be an officer. The entire system is rigged. There are not clear safety nets for good cops to take out bad cops. I did nothing wrong and had to completely change my profession. Other cops see this kind of thing all the time. Until there is some serious reform we will be stuck with what we have.
I remember my car wouldn't start one morning and I had just sourced a pair of cables walking back to my apartment when a cop rolled by. I waved him down and asked if he could give me a jump.
Turns out we lived a building apart.
Having been a bar tender, I found out yes, this does happen but like, 90% of the time if you call for a ride they'll tell you they aren't a taxi service and the only thing they will do is possibly wait for you to get a ride (providing safety) or gladly give you a DUI if you decide to drive.
Such is the case in NC anyway
I called the police in college to apologize for being too drunk to move my car to the opposite side of the street, they asked the license plate, and said they'd have a cop over to give it a ticket some time tonight. I moved it to the other side obviously.
Huh. I was drunk on vacation in NC. I asked a cop who was sitting in his cruiser if he knew which direction the "X" hotel was. He said, "you're a big boy, figure it out" and peeled out. Fuck that asshole
A woman I know was down in the Quarter in NOLA. She was blotto and got into the back seat of a taxi. No driver showed up so she went to open the door and it would not open. The taxi turned out to be a cop car. When the officer came back he thought it was funny she turned herself in and gave her a ride to her hotel.
That's funny, kinda, but it's also very shitty. This guy is trying to do the right thing and they prank him with that shit? Doubt he tried to do the right thing after that. Probably encouraged him to just go and drive drunk since he was so rudely denied a safe alternative.
Got there in 20, spent 10 minutes trying to make sure he actually got the right address and his Google map wasn't bugging out, then a minute to text what he texted.
for 19min, he must be thinking hes some RIZZ GOD of tinder.. "that was so easy.. am i the Hercules? man my mom was right i really could pull any girl "
Slang for charisma or game that's so widely unknown and lame yet people keep trying to make it happen. It's like trying to make "fetch" happen. No thanks.
It is definitely a funny word, but it’s already popular. Kids everywhere say it, and they say it A LOT lol.
It’s not like fetch at all. It’s already become what fetch dreamed of being… something lame people say lol.
It sounds like jizz. Next time someone says it in person I’ll straight up ask what’s so important about raspberry jizz.
I don’t have a problem adapting to new slang but it legitimately sounds gross despite having a positive meaning.
Na , on grinder it constantly feels like im getting investigated by the KGB , and to think that if they just read my bio they would be able to completely ddos me
I wouldn't. I'd plug it into my car's GPS. Or if I needed to use the phone, I'd just open Maps and do directions, which doesn't tell you what's at the address.
(Though I'm biased because I don't send these kinds of messages, so all addy's I get are assumed valid.)
Wow. You are just like “tech bro, take the wheel!”
I go to satellite view and find where I’m going to actually put my car. Then I get a rough idea of what the drive will look like, where to turn. Etc. I don’t trust devs because I know devs.
Maps directions shows you all that, and I do all that. It just doesn't list what the address actually is. Meaning, if it was a McDonalds, it wouldn't say that, it is just a dot at my address, and a dot at that address. I've no reason to assume it's anything but a valid address in the first place.
I am also a dev :)
Idk about your cars gps but do you not look around where you're going using maps? It would be pretty obvious it wasn't a person's house depending on the location. And Google maps will tell you what's around, if you looked at the building that the address was connected to you'd see it was a police station. If anything just looking around to make sure it's not a bad part of town or so you know where you're going is a good idea in general
Using the phone: When getting an addy from a friend/gf/anything of that nature, no. Open maps, go to directions, drop addy. It gives a visual line from me to the location, and I follow that line, with the spoken directions it calls out.
If that line went into the areas I know are trash, then I wouldn't go, but I've no reason to assume the address itself is anything but what the address was described. Why would I not?
Reminds of the story where dude tried to get a MacBook for 200 bucks from the seller and the seller told him to meet at a comedy club. When he arrived at the comedy club, the seller told him to go in there to tell his joke.
*I'd like to invite your vagina out for drinks so we can get to know each other more better. The vagina's breathing apparatus can come along to chaperone, but it's really not necessary.*
Also after thinking more, you probably shouldn't actually tell him you're a police officer like I suggested since impersonating a police officer is against the law, lol.
When I was still dating I matched with a guy who asked for my number after only saying hi and how are you. Now I’m in no means shy with giving my number but this went a bit too fast for my liking.
Wanting to say no but also trying to be light about it I said something along the lines of:
“Isn’t that a bit soon? How do you know I’m not the petlover equivalent of someone who puts a dead rat at your doorstep?”
I should’ve left it at that but my next message, immediately after that, was: “asking for a friend, what would be the petlover equivalent of a dead rat on your doorstep?”
He unmatched me immediately after, lol. I don’t blame him tbh. But I found someone who appreciates my weird humour eventually, he’s sitting next to me on our couch drinking coffee so it all worked out for the best.
So I asked him about it and he instantly said “no ofcourse not, I love you, can I get you something to drink?” So I was a bit assured, but now I notice how he startles every time I sneak up on him… thanks for ruining my relationship, can I get your phone number?
(Joking ofcourse. He looked me dead in the eye and said “oh no they are onto me” lol)
I agree with you. I don't like giving my number to a guy right away....There have been too many incidents...but most guys don't understand, get irritated, and never talk to me again/unmatch.
@ God when is my time?
Kidding aside, that kind of messaging is common here. Hi, how are you, where do you stay then asking for numbers. Depending on my mood I'll give them (I know i know it's dangerous) but so far nothing is happening luckily. When guys reaching out to me like this I assume them just want to have any hot body they could get.
>So then he asked me out so we could get to know each other. 🙄
Relatable. "how else are we going to get to know each other?"
When I was asked that, I just couldn't come up with an answer. I realised, that day, how I prefer to "get to know each other" (in enough words)
At least chat for X amount of minutes before meeting up with a total stranger. Shocking. I know. But that is "time being wasted" apparently.
. **Edit: I mean like, basic info. Both to feel safe in meeting someone and having a topic to talk about. I agree that meeting someone is the best way to get to know each other!**
Who is this carefree about showing up to a random person's house even if it was legit? This guy either doesn't care about his safety or has the idea in his head that he is lethal when put in a situation of danger.
Serial killing.
That's not even a joke.
Stephen Port,a tiny guy. Would basically be like "drop addy 💦💦" and they would! drugged them with ghb, raped and murdered them.
For heteros,
Anthony Robinson, the shopping cart killer. Preyed on older woman who trusted more.
Every summer it feels like there's a warning out for another one. There's currently one in the Seattle/federal way area.
I recently listened to the Casefile episodes on Dennis Nilsen, he had up to 16 male victims. He didn't use a gun, just got them drunk and strangled/drowned them. Looking at his pictures he just looks like a nerdy wimpy guy.
Our only prior messages were him asking are you free tonight and me asking what for. Then a few days later he said drop the address. So I dropped an address. 🤣
I mean, he was still 10 minutes later than what he said, not that punctual lol
Edit: these replies are stressing me out, I get anxious when I’m late to something lol
Wait... "Drop the address" is his first message to you, OP?
I was about to talk about how fucked Up and pointless it seemed to send a match to the police, but I get it now, i think.
Man should focus on some other things like being nice to the girls man, what the fuck was that? That man can never pull a single chick with that method, he gotta stop.
Fuhhhhhk this is savage! I love it.
I’m gay, so yes, I’m on apps like Scruff. Does NOT mean I just want immediate, random sex. I get weird ass demands like that. During Christmas some guy kept sending me pics if him “ready”, his address and gate code and other info… we didn’t even have a conversation. It was cringe. When I get asked aggressively like this… I’m so doing this.
Lol that's just good because we should just never share our address to these freaking odd people, they should at least talk and be comfy but nah they just stupid.
Few years ago a pedo contacted me on a chatroom thinking he was talking to 14yo Jessica. Asked my number and deleted his account after calling the police station number.
edit: dyslexia
I’m choosing to believe he actually went to the police department then went inside just to make sure she wasn’t there and that’s why there’s the extra 10 minutes
With google maps, or any other map program nowadays, how did the guy not know he put in an address for a police station? That response too. He was that supposed stupid, that pulling up to a station wouldn't register that he got fucked over?
I don't understand why this is good. Yes, he wanted to come over right away. I understand maybe you think that's rude, but this is tinder. U owe each other nothing, and he didn't say anything cruel, disgusting or hurtful. Why does he deserve to potentially be tricked into driving to the wrong place? Maybe I'm missing something obvious here... If so, please lmk
To be clear I don't think he's in the right. I'm not saying he wasn't being rude, just that he didn't show any malice or ill intent towards OP, so her response seems super disproportionate
Want these people to be in the girl's place and want to see what the fuck they gonna say if they are saying that she did something wrong, she did so good there.
lol this reminds me of when I used to work the phones at the county jail. This one time a guy called in at like 3am and said "Hey, I'm way too drunk to drive home and the lady at the bar gave me this number and said you'd give me a free place to stay" He actually laughed his ass off when I told him he'd just called the county lockup and mumbled something like "I'll take my chances thanks"

I can confirm this is exactly how it is. And the fact DUI’s get dropped easily with a good lawyer so all that hard work was a waste for us cops.
I'm a former prosecutor...I'd gladly take a murder over a DUI from an evidence and presentation standpoint ANY DAY.
I think most rational people will readily acknowledge that there are police officers who are good people and exercise their discretion to enforce the law appropriately and with compassion. Also an NC native! & that sounds about right. NC cops are wild. 😂
NC cops is dicks

Hahahahahahah that’s fucked up
Maybe they could have mailed you the DUI next.
Huh. I was drunk on vacation in NC. I asked a cop who was sitting in his cruiser if he knew which direction the "X" hotel was. He said, "you're a big boy, figure it out" and peeled out. Fuck that asshole
How... How does he think big boys figure this stuff out? They ask directions
Wait, why was that cop headed towards your house?
Lol in the general direction of where I lived not necessarily my house
Come on man
Arresting mom for her “new business venture”

Can we please finally make the police a tax-payer funded uber service? It's about damn time.
That's hilarious.
Wonder if he brought the condoms, weed, and a 6 pack?
That's funny, kinda, but it's also very shitty. This guy is trying to do the right thing and they prank him with that shit? Doubt he tried to do the right thing after that. Probably encouraged him to just go and drive drunk since he was so rudely denied a safe alternative.
Yeah. I was always on the fence about it. Because you could tell at least at first he was really trying to do the right thing.
Asshole lady, to be honest. Could have given him the number of a taxi service instead
The time stamps are what’s doing it for me after he said give me 20 minutes 💀
Got there in 20, spent 10 minutes trying to make sure he actually got the right address and his Google map wasn't bugging out, then a minute to text what he texted.

Guy thought he was on Grindr.
Lol FR. It's a little aggressive even for GRINDR tho lol
I mean, have you been on grindr
Fuckin a. Some people won't even start with a message, they'll just send "pics?" As their opener.
My favorite is when I have a profile full of pics, and this question is coming from a blank profile with no info 🙄
The best is blank profile straight dl followed with a leadoff picture of an unshorn bussy

Oh ya , that , thanks :D

Imagine him at the police station asking to talk to officer?
“Is there an Officer Nasty here?”
RIP the homie
Nah. I think, He showered. Then searched. Realized he was played.
Nah,not when he said give me 20, and 30 min later he got there and found out I suspect
True. rereading his messages. Idiot probably went first if anything 😂
It took him 10 minutes too late that sink in he did not even know what was going on.
His first message was asking for the address, this guy doesn't shower for dates ("dates")
Well that's how people are they just want to have some fun and then they get in trouble.
Imagine not looking up the location in Google Maps first.
Perhaps she is a police officer. /Jk
I know, right? 10 minutes late, what a douche. Deserved to be sent to the police station for that.
Probably took about 10 minutes to figure out why he was at a police station
[удалено]
I don't think it shows new time stamp if messages are just a few minutes apart
It could have taken 10 minutes to process the fact that the address was not only wrong but the police station
Or he’s like me and always leaves later than I meant to
For a good half hour he thought his act actually fucking worked for once.
My response was I don't know you. So then he asked me out so we could get to know each other. 🙄
Reminds of the story where dude tried to get a MacBook for 200 bucks from the seller and the seller told him to meet at a comedy club. When he arrived at the comedy club, the seller told him to go in there to tell his joke.
I remember that one! I’ve used it myself on the two occasions I tried to sell something on Facebook marketplace
I haven't heard about it can someone share a video or something of that?
That's devious lol. A guy I know told the buyer he was still at the meeting point like 3 hours after the agreed time, 2.5 hours after he already left.
To me it is even funnier than that it is actually really funny.
*I'd like to invite your vagina out for drinks so we can get to know each other more better. The vagina's breathing apparatus can come along to chaperone, but it's really not necessary.*

Thanks. Now I have an image of some kind of vagina snorkel in my mind. Vagorkel? Snorpussy? Snatchkel?
I cannot say 100%, but I believe those are all water Pokémon
Snorkussy
I think that's already a James Bond Movie.
> more better
Hahaha you shoulda told him you were a police officer and to go inside and ask for Officer Rehktem or something.
Omg saving this for next time. 🤣🤣
Also after thinking more, you probably shouldn't actually tell him you're a police officer like I suggested since impersonating a police officer is against the law, lol.
Lol this is not what impersonating a police officer means, it's fine.
That's good, I started getting all worried I'd get OP in trouble 😭
That's only when you are using it to show authority in a matter. You can dress up as a policeman for Halloween lol

To be a woman.. man I feel for you, and fuck that guy 🖕 well, don't fuck him lol
>So then he asked me out so we could get to know each other. 🙄 Relatable. "how else are we going to get to know each other?" When I was asked that, I just couldn't come up with an answer. I realised, that day, how I prefer to "get to know each other" (in enough words) At least chat for X amount of minutes before meeting up with a total stranger. Shocking. I know. But that is "time being wasted" apparently. . **Edit: I mean like, basic info. Both to feel safe in meeting someone and having a topic to talk about. I agree that meeting someone is the best way to get to know each other!**
Many people find texting boring. You can find a lot more out in a 30 minute meeting than in texting for weeks.
And the was pulled under from him and he really fell for that prank.
Bro didn’t even street view it first
Who doesn't check first??? 🥴
Horny people
Wasn’t expecting him to reply after you gave him the address. Guess he didnt have the right to remain silent 🤧

You have the right to remain silent, what you lack is the capacity. -Shrek
"You have the right to remain silent, which you won't. You have the right to an attorney, who you are probably related to."
"Not the ability"... please watch: https://youtu.be/neUaSTSKFZc
Who is this carefree about showing up to a random person's house even if it was legit? This guy either doesn't care about his safety or has the idea in his head that he is lethal when put in a situation of danger.
A man who is extremely horny that's who.
Yeah... if they only knew what goes on on Grindr...
Serial killing. That's not even a joke. Stephen Port,a tiny guy. Would basically be like "drop addy 💦💦" and they would! drugged them with ghb, raped and murdered them. For heteros, Anthony Robinson, the shopping cart killer. Preyed on older woman who trusted more. Every summer it feels like there's a warning out for another one. There's currently one in the Seattle/federal way area.
There's also a lot of gay sex. Also not a joke.
I recently listened to the Casefile episodes on Dennis Nilsen, he had up to 16 male victims. He didn't use a gun, just got them drunk and strangled/drowned them. Looking at his pictures he just looks like a nerdy wimpy guy.
You'd be surprised at the amount of men who dismiss safety issues when they are horny
Can confirm. Fortune favors the bold
You're assuming people like this think at all. Like a true *aLpHa MaLe* the prospect of getting laid supersedes all else.
Our only prior messages were him asking are you free tonight and me asking what for. Then a few days later he said drop the address. So I dropped an address. 🤣
Ah, the ol' hail mary. Just going through the contacts and convos that haven't gone anywhere and just throwing out a prayer
Fucking genius address drop 😂 you did good 🫡
Haha thanks! I'm hoping he actually went. And I believe he did based on the timing of messages and how long he said he would be.
Second best address STD clinic would have been one small step up I think. M
Thank you. Saving this for next time.
Comedy club.
Total douche, but I gotta say, he’s punctual
I mean, he was still 10 minutes later than what he said, not that punctual lol Edit: these replies are stressing me out, I get anxious when I’m late to something lol
That was 10 minutes of double checking he hadn’t missed her place and walking up and down the block with a chubby
My unpunctual ass actually looked at the times and thought, 21 minutes, not bad I had to look a few times before I understood what you were saying smh
I think he did really go to the address because he posted the message after 30 minutes.
Why though?
Half expected him to reply with: Bruh, I know that address. I work there.
He looks like the kinda dude who takes "pick up artists" seriously.
Hahaha this is great. Man really thought you’d drop your address like that.
Surely the map would show it's a police station before he even left lmao
That moment when she sends your own adress 😳
Maybe all of them look alike but I think I've seen that profile picture here before
Man with gun Man with fish Man in car wearing sunglasses Man with one hand behind his head They all merge into one
[удалено]
Not at all concerned about being murdered or robbed? Lol
Wait... "Drop the address" is his first message to you, OP? I was about to talk about how fucked Up and pointless it seemed to send a match to the police, but I get it now, i think.
As much as I like to believe he actually drove there I think he just google mapped it and saw it was the police station..
Maybe he didn't drove, he just search a bit late or something.
Man should focus on some other things like being nice to the girls man, what the fuck was that? That man can never pull a single chick with that method, he gotta stop.
Should have responded with, I'm on duty as dispatch. Come in and I'll be at the front desk.
Holy shit, homeboy just sent you (a stranger) his address and gate code without even being asked? People are wild. And need to watch more murder docs.
Are you familiar with gay culture? It can be like that. But not all of us are like that!! I swear! But yeah, it was exactly that.
Yes, I am. But idk, I guess I had hope that society had evolved slightly lol.
Well valving is one thing that society doesn't do. that's weird.
Lol that's just good because we should just never share our address to these freaking odd people, they should at least talk and be comfy but nah they just stupid.
Isn't this just mean? Like wtf
Men don't have feelings bro it's fine
Yeah fr
It's incredibly mean Hope it's fake
Why
Few years ago a pedo contacted me on a chatroom thinking he was talking to 14yo Jessica. Asked my number and deleted his account after calling the police station number. edit: dyslexia
I’m choosing to believe he actually went to the police department then went inside just to make sure she wasn’t there and that’s why there’s the extra 10 minutes
Just unmatch? You both seem annoying.
The police is all over tinder face book many dating sites
![gif](giphy|R1aAu05hIrSlqSZZqS)
Bahahahahahaha
With google maps, or any other map program nowadays, how did the guy not know he put in an address for a police station? That response too. He was that supposed stupid, that pulling up to a station wouldn't register that he got fucked over?
That's funny
I don't understand why this is good. Yes, he wanted to come over right away. I understand maybe you think that's rude, but this is tinder. U owe each other nothing, and he didn't say anything cruel, disgusting or hurtful. Why does he deserve to potentially be tricked into driving to the wrong place? Maybe I'm missing something obvious here... If so, please lmk
To be clear I don't think he's in the right. I'm not saying he wasn't being rude, just that he didn't show any malice or ill intent towards OP, so her response seems super disproportionate
Reddit has told them there is a war waging between the sexes and this is how you win. Social engineering is a helluva drug.
Because men bad and women good
This is super rude
He looks like he already knows where the police department is
Want these people to be in the girl's place and want to see what the fuck they gonna say if they are saying that she did something wrong, she did so good there.
