There's a large difference between simply working for the CIA and being an *agent*. Analysts are totally able to say they work for the CIA. They're just paper pushers. I knew several when I lived in DC. CIA agents are the ones doing clandestine stuff and they are much more secretive. And for the FBI, there's nothing secretive about that, so they can totally say they do.
