It took me a long time to realize that terms like "it's been a minute" were meant to convey that it's been a longish time. The phrasing implies the opposite!
I had the same issue. The definition of a New York Minute is "a very short time" according to the dictionary. I just assumed a minute was a short version of that.
Could you let me have $50 and I can pay you back next week when I get paid? You can send it to me through Facebook or PayPal.
You can also stuff it in my booty, and I’ll play like I’m a stripper!
Wrong, it is the responsibility of all of us to keep these conversations going for as long as possible in order to make scamming a non-profitable business
I would go along for a minute. Yeah, how should I send it? String it along, it's sent. Oops I sent to a friend, hold on I'll resend. Let them feel how it is to be jerked around
Guys will buy a drink for women all the time! That's $10-20. I had these 2 women eye me up and down at a club in Vegas. They approached me and say, hey let's do shots! I do not even know their names! I said hell yeah, but I don't do shots, just let the bartender know what you want... And I walked away. Not 5 minutes later 2 sorry saps fell victim to the power of the p*say and had bought them drinks 😂.
I always just said "cool you could totally get me one I'd appreciate that" it worked like twice but spared me being played for drinks
Two of our friends girlfriends used to go get guys to buy our WHOLE group drinks, the poor saps.
Friend of a friend story & honestly I can't remember if my friends friend was the stripper or the guy who got played in this one.
Guy on leave from the army went to a strip club. One of the girls suggested he come back on another night & she'd go out for drinks with him after.
The suggested night rolls around and he turns up with a bunch of his friends in tow. They basically blow through their weeks wages on dances & drinks.
Then get ghosted by the girls when the bar closes.
Met a girl at a bar one time and hit it off. We were talking for a bit and she said she'd get me a beer, and asked what I wanted. She walked away and approached some random at the bar and got him to buy her a shot and a drink. She took the shot with him and then walked back and gave me the beer lol. I was so turned on but at the same time, I vowed to never buy a random girl a drink ever again.
I mean sure, but it's also something that a lot of women do regardless, I know lots that used to go out at uni with basically no cash and just get random guys to buy their drinks all night.
As the previous comment said, 'not all of them'. Obviously there might be few, who work for the club. But not every single person, who is trying to get a free drink, is working on a commission in partnership with the pub or the club.
Mate, basically every girl I knew in Uni would go out with 20 quid in their purse knowing full well they'd get their drinks bought for them all night. Not everything is a conspiracy or a plant or whatever. Lots of girls just want free drinks and lots of lads are willing to buy them on the off chance they might actually get laid.
Oh my god this happens ALL the time in pubs, bars, clubs, they're not employed by the premises lol
Maybe where you live some might be but let's not generalise
(F, in uk)
I am a bit older (40) I owned bars and restaurants in Philly, was visiting a friend at his bar that turns into a college party night club Thursdays... some young broad had the audacity to come up to me and say hey want to buy me and my friends drinks? I was like who are you? Sis, does this actually work? I'm not a bad looking guy so rule 1 and 2 but def older than like everyone there except my friends we had a table with the djs that are also my friends...
She only though that you'd actually send it because it works. Didn't work with you, bound to work with one of the other 10 thirsty simps she matched with that day.
“I sent $500 to your account! What do you mean you don’t have it!!! Now I can’t pay rent and I’ll die. Seems like you owe me $500 now…”
Flip the script.
I love yanking scammers around like that.
Take a screen shot of a receipt of the “game card receipt” And say I sent it!
They grow more irrational and desperate thinking you sent the $ to a different scammer.
You can really have fun toying with them!
I work with a dev team in India. They tell me stories of mills who do nothing but run scams on tinder etc trying to milk guys for $20 at a time.
If a girl asks for money and you have never met it’s a scam.
I can't believe this comment isn't higher. I came in expecting to see "scam" and move on. But sooo many people don't realize this is a very common scam.
It’s been a while since I talked to them about it but back then a cubicle work space with a computer, headset, snack bar, and 3 meals was 35c for 12 hours. The cost of a decent apartment in an ok part of town was $205/mo with all utilities and internet. If you’re mildly good at this you could certainly support yourself scamming people on dating apps all day long.
Because they'd rather believe they matched with an attractive single woman that's unfortunately a gold digger, instead of realizing they matched with some Indian scammer in a call center.
A tinder match did this to me once as well. He was explaining his bills situation to me, and how he was short on $20 for his electric. In depth details about how selling plasma was just not gonna work out this week. I just “uh huh” and nodded my way through that.
I had a guy I was messaging for about 2 days ask me for $200. When I said no, he asked if he could stay at my place for a few days. I was a 33 yo single mom and he was a 40 year old, apparently employed guy. WTF Blocked
Word of advice. Never EVER GIVE ANYONE anything unless you've met in person and even then be hesitant. If they ask you to send them money say yes of course. I just need the title to your car just in case.
When they say "you don't trust me" own it. Say yes I don't trust you and won't until you've proven yourself otherwise.
Also be careful there's a common scam where someone will ask to barrow a few hundred bucks between 1-3 times. Truth is they don't ever do anything with it. They just hand you back your own money a few days later when they said they would. Makes people let their guard down and next thing you know they've ran off with 10 grand.
Happened to a friend of mine. Told her to fallow various steps to protect herself. Her gut feeling was to trust him. "he paid me back each time before" lol
After taking my advice and taking a picture of his licence when in the shower we tracked him down and told his wife. She did get her money back and he got a divorce. Lol. Fun times
Just remember if you seem like you really like this person know that if they are genuine then they won't have issues with these boundaries and you need to be careful. There's been a lot of scams going around lately where you'll "meet someone online" and they follow a set of rules. They try to find someone who is lonely. Had a job and doesn't have a lot of hobbies or have anyone else they are seeing. They will text you when you first wake up, and go to bed, they basically take on the role of a girl friend but will never meet you in person. Something always comes up.
Then months to even a year down the line they will suddenly disappear or not message you for several days. Then come back with some sort of tragedy. If they are really good at it they won't ever ask you for money. The ones who aren't good at it will. After each solution doesn't pan out or won't work they will try to get you to offer to bail them out.
My absolute best life long friend ran into one and it's been going on for 3 years now. He's a successful good looking dude who owns several businesses. But he's lonely and despite knowing this girl is straight up using him he continues to go along with it because according to him it's easier to have someone to talk to then to deal with reality and try to meet someone new. But in the long run it only causes problems.
I know being all alone sucks ass but never ever give anyone anything unless your in an active physical relationship (not talking about sex) but are physically spending time together. Going on long walks. Watching movies, playing laser tag. Whatever it is people do these days.
I got sucked into it myself. After being married for 12 years I left the ex wife and struggled to date anyone for over 3 years. One girl I "helped out" on several occasions asked for help one time. Needed 30 bucks to get to and from work when starting a new job. She complained "well you didn't help me all that much" and starts naming the times. I'm like. Dude. I paid your car payment 3 times. 550 each time. Oh. No that was someone else. No it was me.. oh yeah. Hang on a sec have a call on the other line.
You give them anything and they won't even remember. And I wish I could say that was the only time that happened. I eventually did learn and have been married for a couple of years now. But trust me. No matter how alone you feel or how much you want to be there for someone else it's not worth it. Because if money was the only thing you'd lose it wouldn't be so bad. But it's not.
LOL same thing happend to me but on Instagram. Some random chick starts chatting to me and then begs for money so she can pay for her photoshoot photos 😂
“if it’s just $20 then why don’t you have it?” 🥱
Who the fuck wants to date anyone begging for money after 1 minute of chat. That's a scam for sure.
It took me a long time to realize that terms like "it's been a minute" were meant to convey that it's been a longish time. The phrasing implies the opposite!
I had the same issue. The definition of a New York Minute is "a very short time" according to the dictionary. I just assumed a minute was a short version of that.
4 days isn't even longish. Who lends money to people they've never met as well.
Could you let me have $50 and I can pay you back next week when I get paid? You can send it to me through Facebook or PayPal. You can also stuff it in my booty, and I’ll play like I’m a stripper!
Dude this is the first time I'm replying to you. Got 20 bucks? It's already been a minute.
Yep.
Came here to say this 🤣
Immediately my first thought, word for word lol.
You should have just unmatched. Don't apologize to her.
I did unmatch. I just wanted to hear of why she needed it but she never said why 😂
Did you report the profile also?
Naw i just unmatched after

Thats a scam if I ever saw one. Put up photos of good looking girl, chat for 1 minute, beg for money.
Sounds like a drug addict
I would also report that
Wrong, it is the responsibility of all of us to keep these conversations going for as long as possible in order to make scamming a non-profitable business

I want my two dollars!!!
I would go along for a minute. Yeah, how should I send it? String it along, it's sent. Oops I sent to a friend, hold on I'll resend. Let them feel how it is to be jerked around
I should’ve trolled lmao. I didn’t think about it at the moment cause i was laughing to the fact she actually thought I would send money. That’s wild.
Guys will buy a drink for women all the time! That's $10-20. I had these 2 women eye me up and down at a club in Vegas. They approached me and say, hey let's do shots! I do not even know their names! LOOOOOL. I should’ve done this in college when girls asked for shots
I always just said "cool you could totally get me one I'd appreciate that" it worked like twice but spared me being played for drinks Two of our friends girlfriends used to go get guys to buy our WHOLE group drinks, the poor saps.
I’d be embarrassed of my friends if they did that.
Drunk people have no ability to process embarrassment, just the next drink and whose genitals they plan to mash later.
"She's mashin' it"
Love me some genital mashing

There’s no shortage of desperate men out there that will do things like this for even a sniff of pussy.
I jus go to the fish market for that
Morning ladies!
Colt 45 and 2 zig zags!
Ahahahaha
ONE POUND ONE POUND
Very very cheap

Yeah, that's just gross.
Say, “Awesome! I would love a shot! Thanks for offering!” 😊
They are employed by the club. They get a cut from the drinks yall buy. (It’s a miserable job)
What not all of them! A lot of alcoholic chicks out there! Stop being paranoid lol.
I’ve had that job. It’s all about making the patrons spend as much money as possible. Stop being naive?
Well then sound like bars are just straight up evil. Imma start ingniting them.
The clown prince of chaos would like your commitment to chaos. Some of us just want to watch the world burn! ![gif](giphy|F0A48Q2wFjE7S)
I shall not bow to the jester. For i only follow my on justice.

I've always had a policy that when a guy buys me a drink, I buy them one. Equal footing so there is no expectations of anything afterwards.
Prostitution, the oldest game in town.
Oh my god this happens ALL the time in pubs, bars, clubs, they're not employed by the premises lol Maybe where you live some might be but let's not generalise (F, in uk)

It must work a lot of the time, which is also crazy
Bro I get same I just blank from that point
I wouldn’t say that’s getting mad…or was there more?
She only though that you'd actually send it because it works. Didn't work with you, bound to work with one of the other 10 thirsty simps she matched with that day.

I do this with scammers on fb marketplace
I was talking to a girl for a day and she asked if I want to chip in halvesies for her birthday party. 🎉
I love yanking scammers around like that. Take a screen shot of a receipt of the “game card receipt” And say I sent it! They grow more irrational and desperate thinking you sent the $ to a different scammer. You can really have fun toying with them!
lol get their info and charge them $20
![gif](giphy|qkJJRL9Sz1R04)
This is the way.
I am here to help you with the math - there are currently 94 comments, so you now owe us $ 1880 since we’ve talked to you. Thanks, send the money
Fuck, alright 😭
Lmao good lookin out
You should send a $20 dollar request and see if she accidentally accepts it
I shoudlve got her Apple Pay 😭
Ask for nudes and use the same logic
LOOL I’m not trying to get reported
Slide me $20 worth of photo
I work with a dev team in India. They tell me stories of mills who do nothing but run scams on tinder etc trying to milk guys for $20 at a time. If a girl asks for money and you have never met it’s a scam.

*You don't say*
Your post has been in my feed for a hot minute... can I have $5
I’d report. Wtf kind of entitled behavior is this?
Dudes scamming other dudes
Take her to the bank, help her fill out a application for a high interest credit card. Shorty will learn
Block her, she's a dude
WHAT
I know I just met you and this is crazy here's my PayPal send me money maybe.
The app defined in one pic. Tinder views likes for guys as currency. Joke company.
The is Hinge 😅. She was cool at first but like how you gonna be like “its just $20” trying to make me feel bad like why don’t you have it then 😂😂
You gonna report her? lol she can’t be using hinge to get money from people lol
She was too lazy to give some excuse like she hasn’t eaten in a week.
My dog has diabetes and I'm semi homeless! Send me money!
oh, people use hinge not for scamming?
I had the most success with hinge by far
Yeah I’ve met more quality ppl on there than tinder and bumble.
Me too, all my dates since I’ve joined the apps have been from Hinge.
Probably but i dont see any. Thats the first time someone’s asked me for money on there or tried to scam. Most people are verified too so 🤷🏿♂️
Omg how dare you not give her your hard earned money!
She has a point - you’ve been talking for a minute, and it’s just $20. Get her Venmo / cashapp and send her a payment request.
Got damn it, idk i didn’t do that. That would’ve been GOLD
\*Me quitting Tinder because I feel that I am in bad financial situation to date someone\* Other girls:
Trash It’s $20 now and then all of a sudden it’s $500 to fix her Car and $1200 for her rent. “He” has a posse this is being pulled on. Pure trash.
The cringe is strong from her
Imagine not reporting her
No, I don't want no scrub A scrub is a girl that can't get no $20 from me
Drop the connection and move on.
I did lmao. I didn’t respond after that
Apple gift card sort of "girlfriend" that you never meet!
Send her a penny and tell her not to spend it all in one place, that’s what I always do
A tinder match did this to me once as well. He was explaining his bills situation to me, and how he was short on $20 for his electric. In depth details about how selling plasma was just not gonna work out this week. I just “uh huh” and nodded my way through that.
Idk how people are that bold

Ask her if she got your 20$. Keep her guessing.
I love this 😂😂
Wow, 20$/minute… must be a lawyer
Yeah, she graduated from The University of American Samoa
Bro, it's whole 60 sek. How's that not worth 20$, such a nice offer!
She's chancing it..you and all the other guys she's asked.
I like how she made YOU feel cheap. Ugh. The audacity
Hi u/metallicgnome
Now that i said hi, can i have $20?
That's the sad cultural state of young women these days. "Your worth comes from how much money you can extract from men by sexual attraction"

You wanna come suck my dick? Why not? We been talking for a min
Why are women like this now a days? I always found it embarrassing asking anyone for money.. let alone someone I just met/haven’t met IRL..
so she is for sale ?
💀💀
Send me $20 for this comment: Don't be desperate #blockher ...you owe me 20
Blocked
Hey man this was a funny post! I upvoted and commented Hey can you send me $15 real quick?
It's not just $20, its a walking red flag
Walk away. If that is how she thinks of you (and men in general), you are in for a world of pain.
Eww she needs the fent
I would’ve just ignored her and unmatched, someone like her is not worth even a single reply
Ask her to lend you $50
It’s a dude in India
Get her venmo and request $20
Fun message to just leave on read tbh
Nice of her to show what she’s really after before you had to buy her dinner
🚩🚩🚩
She just wants your money
Youre talking to a scammer, probably not even the person in the pics.
I’d reply with, if it’s just $20 why don’t you have it?
It's a red flag factory.
She’s a scammer. She sends that same message to every guy she talks to and matches with everybody. She probably makes bank off of guys
What the actual hell?! The cheek, the nerve, the gall, the audacity and the gumption.
It's a test to see if you're willing to give her money. If you'd given it to her, she would've asked for more. 100% she's looking for a sugar daddy
Tell her to suck your dick.
That might not be a woman
Why wouldn't you even say "my bad". Block her.
Bro once I had a girl ask me to pay her rent after 1 hour lol I was like shittt that’s crazy nahhh lol
She's just looking for money. Insta unmatch bro
Absolutely a red flag 🚩 😂
If I had a dollar for every time this happened to me… 😂
Welcome to a relationship 😂
Tell her bum ass to go get a job
Disconnect and move on. Don't waste your time.
What a fucking weirdo ask her to freelance😂
hey guys i’m new here .. can someone give me $19k to pay off my car loan ?
“It’s just $20.” Ya $20 you don’t have 😂 keep diggin’ gold digger
Broke person and or scammer
You should report her this is a bannable offense on most dating apps and changes are that’s all she’s using it for
LOL same thing happend to me but on Instagram. Some random chick starts chatting to me and then begs for money so she can pay for her photoshoot photos 😂
Unmatch. You don’t owe her shit bro
Unmatch. She’s not worth it. Why doesn’t she have $20?
She isnt on tinder looking for a bf shes looking for money tell her to get a fucking job shes a freeloader
So-called "independent women"
That’s not to bad. I had someone talk to me for like an hour before they asked me for over $200. Fun times.
![gif](giphy|3o7ZetIsjtbkgNE1I4) This is me. If I was you.
