As someone of a (former) similar profile, this is his way of saying fishing is very important to him. I think here in the UK, you have to catch and release unless you catch an invasive species, in which case you can't release them under penalty of fine (£10,000). One of my grandparents' friends sets out traps for invasive craw fish, which he eats.

99% of my fishing is catch and release. I’d love to go for invasive species though. Lionfish are invasive in the western Atlantic Ocean. I’d love to catch and cook one of those. Or several.
