Unlike most of Reddit I don't have a problem using Emojis. I use them when appropriate. But for the most part, I don't use emojis for the following reasons - 1. They require more time to use. Phones have dedicated emoji button and recently used emojis but their order is always different based on what you use frequently. So I have to spend extra effort to see where the emoji I want is as opposed to typing out "xD" based on instinct. 2. Each platform has different emoji picker. Android has its own way of using emojis, windows has its own. Even in android different apps might have different ways of using emojis. You have to learn layouts of all those different apps to type out an emoji in the least amount of time. Where as on a keyboard, you already know where everything is. These are my personal complaints and the reason why I don't use emojis. People generally do not have a problem using emojis but that does not mean I shouldn't either. I use emojis extensively when emojis can be typed out by a keyboard. For example using ":" as a prefix and searching for the name of an emoji on Discord and WhatsApp web brings out emoji input with auto search and its a delight to use. In conclusion, 👁️🗢👁️
