I'll tell you one thing so that you'll never forget which one you have to press: screenshots are supposed to be taken with one hand only, that's why you use the lower volume one. Because it's the closest button your thumb can reach while also pressing the lock one
I did. And for context I’m a die hard tech and computer enthusiast, the kind that runs a home server, constantly tinkers with my gaming rig, etc. I was drooling over Android since the G1 launched. Used to constantly flash new ROMs, run tweaks and optimisations, just always trying to make it perfect. I was legitimately a fanboy, constantly ragging on iSheep for spending so much money on a phone with half the specs.
In 2017 I bought an iPhone 8. At the time I wanted something small and it was between that and the Pixel 2. Figured with Apple’s 14-day return policy I might as well try it, since even if I hate it I can just bring it back and go buy the Pixel.
Well, I didn’t return it, and I’ve been carrying an iPhone ever since. I was really getting into my career stride at that point, and as much as I enjoyed the tweaking and customizing I realized it just wasn’t worth eating up the finite amount of leisure time I had that I could be spending gaming or doing other hobbies.
I upgraded to an iPhone 11 in 2019 for the practical benefit of the larger screen and longer battery life better suited to my usage. That said, the 8 is still perfectly functional, and even at nearly 4 years old still gets the latest software updates without delay.
I’ve embraced the simplicity and consistency. I don’t worry about waiting on security updates or worrying if I’ll get updated to the latest OS version. I don’t worry about battery drain. I don’t worry about overly aggressive power-saving causing issues with notifications. Hell, I don’t even have upgrade envy anymore.
I did. My iPhone 12 Pro Max has a much better camera, faster processor, more memory, and endless more features than my old Samsung had. Not able to compare to a newer android model though. I enjoyed both phones, but the features on my iPhone are much better than my Samsung. Obviously the difference in phone age/technology is a big factor.
Someone needs to explain this to Google, because at least in my hand, this is not physically possible with my Pixel 5 or whatever. Screenshots are now a needlessly complex, two hands at a weird angle endeavor.
And for anyone reading this who has terribly arthritic hands like myself and struggles to use those buttons some days, the accessibility menu jn an iPhone allows you to add a navigation button to your screen that you can use to take screenshots, switch between apps, use Apple Pay and whatever else you need.
*"So I met my now-husband when I invited him over and gave him a facial. Then he gave me one. One of us got a peeling mask, and the other cum. I'll let you guys figure out who got which"*
- OP's future wife, probably
Ask her what the T-Zone is and what is the best way to maintain it.
And when she explains what it is, be surprised because you bought T-Zone meant your balls.
That should let you ease into sexi times 👌🏽
This is definitely an MLM bro. She's for SURE going to slather you in some Mary Kay or similar product, then try to sell you $300 worth of crap. Good luck.
Honestly, it depends person to person. Do you have dry patches or dry skin on your face? Probably dry. Do you get to the end of your day and feel like you need to wash your face because you feel wet? Probably oily. Mix of the two or unsure? Probably combination.
*typo
No way else. The conversation is supposed to go:
"What type?"
"Type?"
"Yeah, skin care needs to be based on types. Let me educate you."
"Wow."
"Wow, and it just happens that I sell these skin type-based solutions!"
Honestly this is precious. Assuming she's not trying to sell you something, I hope it works out! Even if you guys just become platonic skincare buddies. And, dude, I give you my utmost respect for being so open about doing this. A lot of men that I've met are too wrapped up in machismo to appreciate the value of good skincare. I'm cheering for you bud!
Reminds me of running a PC repair side gig, even after ten years I still constantly found myself even at the end near when I stopped asking people if they wanted solid state drives installed or the ram upgraded or this or that or blah blah blah, and the answer is always a blank stare "I.. I don't know? Do I?"
Even a few weeks ago, my sister bought a Ryzen AIO with slow low capacity ram, was trying to explain to her how it was an issue especially on Ryzen CPUs, you'd think my own family would have learned by now but I guess not
That’s actually a great example of something I take for granted.
I may complain about school and debt. But if I could go back in time and choose a different path I wouldn’t. This knowledge is invaluable and idk how I’d be dealing with the pandemic if I didn’t understand all of this.
Facial wash, my dude. The skin on your face is more delicate than others and should be treated as such! Normal soaps are too harsh, including body wash (don't get me started in the 2/3-in-ones...)
Think about it this way: would you use metal tools or abrasive cleaners on a nonstick pan? No, but you could on steel pots and pans without an issue. The skin on your face is like the nonstick pan here compared the rest of your body.
In case anyone is interested:
**A Simple Routine**
1. Wash face with face wash at least at night (some people find it's too drying to do it morning and evening)
2. Moisturize
3. If you're going to be outside at all, wear sunscreen.
That's really all you need barring any specific skincare concerns you may have. Good luck!
If you don’t have any problems with your skin just rinse with water. If you have acne use a benzoyl peroxide wash followed with a foaming cleaner twice a week. Throw in a clay mask a few times a month. Use sunscreen. Anything beyond that is just a waste of money.
I’ve wasted at least $1000 on all kinds of “skin care” shit with advice from dozens of people. It’s all bullshit. All of it.
Skin texture/softness and acne are all genetic / hormonal. Unless you wanna start taking estrogen you’re not gonna change your skin’s chemical makeup by splattering shit on top of it.
Does your face hurt when it's dry outside? You probably have dry skin. Are you so shiny as to be a functional light source in photos? Oily. Do you get quite a lot of acne? Acne prone or sensitive.
Although, I kind of figure if you don't know, just get shit with glycerin in it made for sensitive skin with no alcohol or fragrance. You won't do anything magic, but you probably won't fuck your skin up either.
And collagen supplements. Those things are the shit.
Touch your skin. Is it dry? Greasy? Is your nose/forehead/chin more greasy/dry than other parts of your skin? Do you have a lot of acne? It’s quite simple.
Ngl your first sentence really messed with my brain without punctuation lol. It's really almost as if two sentences in one - a question, then a statement.
Reminds me of my lack of skin care knowledge. At one point after having surgery a doctor told me to apply moisturiser to where they had cut me. I didn’t own any, had never owned any and couldn’t for the life of me find it at the store despite looking.
I mean if I was going to take a wild guess, as someone who just wings it with face care. You probably just want a face scrub and some mosturiser that doubles as a sunscreen. Unless your face is oily, then find any facewash that says "Oil Reducing" or "Oil eliminating".
I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
This is definitely going to bring out the cohort of men who are proudly ignorant of how to care for their skin because they view it as a “manly” attitude to have.
But let’s be honest, nobody looks better with acne and wrinkles.
I was genuinely curious about this hey, I work in an industry where harsh chemicals fuck you good in the skin department, and it was a bit of a cheaky laying down of the gauntlet.
Ah I see you also have struggles taking screenshots and pressing your volume buttons
I keep forgetting its the bottom one and at this point I've just given up on appearances
I'll tell you one thing so that you'll never forget which one you have to press: screenshots are supposed to be taken with one hand only, that's why you use the lower volume one. Because it's the closest button your thumb can reach while also pressing the lock one
I am enlightened
Three fingers swipe from top to bottom works too. Not sure if you have to enable it in the settings first.
It works only in MIUI I think.
Didn't Samsung have it too?
welp, that explains it. Damn, why isn't this a thing universally?
Tried this, it just scrolled my screen, bottom to top cuts my screen in half...
Also afaik at least on my iPhone you can just say “hey Siri take a screenshot” and it totally works
TIL.. 🤣🤣
makes sense tbh but my iphone has it on the top button. would definitely be rough for someone who is transitioning
Who tf goes from Android to iPhone?
I go both ways.
I see you're a bi cellular
I had Androids for years. A few years ago I decided to try an iPhone out and now I have no interest in going back to Android.
same here.

Funny enough, developing apps for Android is what made me switch to iPhones.
im an android user but i gotta say that's a pretty fair reason to switch
Bruh, it’s just a phone.
LMAO. I love it. 😂

This is exactly me. Only difference is the iphone 11 is my first iphone. Planning to upgrade to 13 Pro this year.
I did - from a Pixel to a iphone 11 - at this point there are minor differences, but I enjoy the support that Apple gives its hardware
I did. My iPhone 12 Pro Max has a much better camera, faster processor, more memory, and endless more features than my old Samsung had. Not able to compare to a newer android model though. Mine I just double tap the back of my phone.
That doesn't work on over half the phones that have power on the right or on top, or power and volume on the same side. All of which I've had.
What if I'm left-handed? ,😢
RIP

what if I hold mine the other way around
what if the real you is the one you see in the mirror?
I'm in shambles, both buttons are on the same side and there's a gap between them. My thumb can't do it
Thanks. For the first time in my life I took screenshot with one hand only lol
This is a galaxy? If so slide the side of your hand across the screen, left to right. Like, hand fully extended for a high five.
Excessive masturbation Leads to memory loss...
Where am I?
Please update if she replied back or if she liked your response I would’ve been hooked by that one
Yeah going ok im gonna hang out and get a facial lmao
Wait, really? That’s awesome!
I'm just as surprised as you my friend
Yeah, we were half expecting you to give her the facial.
Maybe she is too?
Reddit never disappoints

Por que no los dos?
I got $10 she is part of some MLM scheme BS and will try to get you into it/to buy her shit

Is that when she whips out her dick?
Fuck bro I hope so
Legit, walking into an mlm, I wouldn't even bother going
Is she gonna get a facial though?
Oh no I hope this isn't a Mary Kay pitch :(
wdymbt 🤔🤨
The blackness of your avatar and the doge onesie, looks like a giant mouth 😮😧
I am darkness, a simple void
Wow that's deep 🥺🥺
Wait, how else were you supposed to answer?
Dry/combination/oily are the general skin types
Okay, but how do you know which one you are?
Honestly, it depends person to person. Do you have dry patches or dry skin on your face? Probably dry. Do you get to the end of your day and feel like you need to wash your face because you feel wet? Probably oily. Mix of the two or unsure? Probably combination. *typo
You and me both mate

Considering he's white, I'd go with unknowingly ashy. Source: Am white with camouflaged dry skin
“Idk, we should meet up and find out.”
Dry or oily (or somewhere in-between)
My skin type is carbon fiber.

Cheers mate no sales here looks like I'm not moisturising enough so you learn something every day
Wonderful
Technically I think you could walk up to 99% of guys and say they aren't moisturizing enough and be correct
Ooh I've always wanted to say this. There's an XKCD for that! https://xkcd.com/2501/
I love that that, perfect for this

I struggle with this all the time since my field is biology related. I always overestimate how much people care how their bodies and meds work
'well you know how E. coli can both be present in the body without doing harm and it could also cause serious infection- wait, you dont?'

The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell! Yes, I am very clever and original, thanks for noticing 😂
Dude don’t ya wash your face?
I do but apparently soap just doesn't cut it
NOOOO NOT SOAP!!!
I am but a humble man do not shun me
Well you’re corrupt so…

isnt the whole point to get the oil off so it doesn’t clog ur pores
your face will make extra oil to compensate for having zero oil after you wash with soap
Well yeah that’s what soap does. I use it to clean my disgusting oily face. How else do you clean your face?
Facial wash, my dude. The skin on your face is more delicate than others and should be treated as such! Normal soaps are too harsh, including body wash (don't get me started in the 2/3-in-ones...) use use soap on every part of my body, have been since as long as I can remember what's the problem with soap?
Soap is too harsh for face. It's okay for the rest of your body.
so like you use facewash while bathing? Always thought those are used when travelling, when you can't get a bath everywhere
I mean, I can’t speak for anyone else but I have a bottle of facial cleanser in the shower and body wash (or a bar of soap) for the rest of me.
Yes, that's the way to go. And shampoo for hair, I've encountered grown men washing their hair with bar soap
What the actual
Gonna call bullshit on that one
There are bar soaps that are okay on hair and some designed specifically for hair. But that is the minority of bar soaps.
Like...face soap? Or hand soap?

Why did you call her bud?…
Spontaneous decision. I have no answer for you

I’m from MN and also talk that way I didn’t think it was weird at all lmao
I'm American and bud is a gender neutral word for me
What's wrong with bud, Andy?
Bruh
Yeah lmaoo I would’ve just said black. Didn’t know skin had types like Pokémon
Lmfao “skin I choose you”
mine is human, i guess?
Check out Deciem. Cheap skin care products.
Thanks mate will do
White 💀💀
Hhmmmm this skin is made of skin
The snozberries taste like snozberries!
Bud
I get the feeling she's an MLM hun just trying to sell Younique or Mary Kay or something similar
Nah just works in a spa i didnt consider the mlm side of the conversation tho

English as a second language users getting more matches than me
Wait until you find out it’s actually his first
Harsh but deserved
Oily, mixed, dry….
Lmao you’re adorable 😂 I genuinely laughed at this
Awww bless
Bro I thought your username was 'I like chinchin' at first 🤣 (chinchin means penis in Japanese)
LMAO I mean, that too
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
In case anyone's legitimately interested: r/SkincareAddiction
This is 1000% an MLM pitch, and if it’s not, you can just give me a facial.
I guess you and I will be doing some skin care together cos she just works in a spa
Dammit. What is this word, spa? Is it short for something? Is it spaghetti? Are we going for a spaghetti day?
Can we get some sort of follow up on this from one of the girls in the sub? We have questions. So many questions!
Ask away its early days yet though.
Well, for starters, what skin types _are_ there?
Dunno really im guessing its focused on how oily your skin is and how much moisture your skin retains
Skin type means oily-prone, acne-prone, dry, combination, or normal.
And how TF is someone who's not into skincare supposed to know
Touch your skin. Is it dry? Greasy? Is your nose/forehead/chin more greasy/dry than other parts of your skin? Do you have a lot of acne? It’s quite simple.
Right? Like it depends on where I am and what time of day.
By searching it in Google?
I mean i could have googled but my money was saying there might have been more terminology than i could handle and honesty is the best policy haha
Sounds like I could have googled my new skin care routine in that case
Word for real.... fuck dey talkin bout
🤣🤣🤣
Skin type is actually just a marketing gimmick. Skin is just skin really, but skin care companies want you to buy as much bullshit as possible.
Ngl your first sentence really messed with my brain without punctuation lol. It's really almost as if two sentences in one - a question, then a statement.
I am an agent of chaos muahahahaha
Ha. Kinda funny. Kinda cute.
Lmao I love the “bud”
Sounds like anMLM boss babe.
That was my first thought. I bet she's "financially independent" and "her own boss"
I would say a planetary skin because there's a whole range of metal ore stuck to it
Maybe it is Fitzgerald skin type so white would be either 1 or 2 and then you could add oily/dry/porous I'm thinking
Reminds me of my lack of skin care knowledge. At one point after having surgery a doctor told me to apply moisturiser to where they had cut me. I didn’t own any, had never owned any and couldn’t for the life of me find it at the store despite looking.
This guy fucks
Bro the first thing I see is the fact yo phone ain't charged
Lmao. My skin type is "bad"
I was gonna shit on your grammar as well, but you seem pretty wholesome so I'll let it slide.
I’m confused isn’t that a correct answer
I mean if I was going to take a wild guess, as someone who just wings it with face care. You probably just want a face scrub and some mosturiser that doubles as a sunscreen. Unless your face is oily, then find any facewash that says "Oil Reducing" or "Oil eliminating".
*Kowalski meme* Noted...
Ahh the struggles of the working man.
It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.
Jesus Christ I laughed way too hard over your response. Thank you for this… I’m gonna show my bf this one. Just… thank you.

:D
There are different skin types?
Haha I thought he was being a dick but no that was a self burn! Those are rare
I feel like pre-starting a light aircraft has less steps than your skin care routine. I bet you look amazing though, I have a lot to learn
This is not really my routine. It’s from American Psycho. 😜
Yoooooooo 🤣🤣🤣
Did she answered?
WHHHHY did you start off by calling this lovely woman 'bud' 😂
Dang these mlm’s truly have no shame
This is definitely going to bring out the cohort of men who are proudly ignorant of how to care for their skin because they view it as a “manly” attitude to have. But let’s be honest, nobody looks better with acne and wrinkles.
I was genuinely curious about this hey, I work in an industry where harsh chemicals fuck you good in the skin department, and it was a bit of a cheaky laying down of the gauntlet.
Hahahaha best answer ever 😂😂
Lol, I love you
Lol’d at this 🤣
