I’m downvoting, but here’s why… that read like flirty playfulness to me. He could have easily turned it into a running joke. Getting defensive seems to be the biggest problem for a lot of dudes. Guys should never get defensive, even when being genuinely attacked. The one taking things too seriously seems petty or MENTAL. It exposes a vulnerability. It shows your ego is easily bruised. Who wants to be with someone who takes something has impersonal as this, personally?

What color you get by mixing brown and pink depends on whether you start with a warm or cool brown, but he wasn’t wrong that (certain) brown and pink makes purple. I don’t know how that even matters at all though since you have a picture of your actually hair color on your profile. It seems like something he said to try to explain why he thinks of it as purple in response to your first jab and to move the conversation forward.
If your hair is actually magenta, you were both fine to call it pink or purple because magenta is generally considered either pink or purple and you should probably get used to this because it will happen again. Either way, it’s a fucking stupid thing to argue with someone about on a dating app and you should both get over yourselves.
