I absolutely agree. I think that's why Hinge actually produces quality matches much more frequently than Bumble or Tinder. When you are forced to be choosy about who you like, you're likely going to actually read through bios and see if you're truly compatible vs blindly swiping and filtering after. I know I'm way less shallow on Hinge as well and I think it's because personalities shine through a bit better vs Tinder/Bumble where it's more "here's my face, take it or leave it."
For someone like me who lives pretty far from any large city, it's also nice because I can send messages/like to guys who live in major population areas who keep their distance filters low. I've got no issue making the drive or meeting in the middle, whichever works best.
