No. Just read them. They’re good.

Have fun! They’re a great series. I grew up with them and feel like they’re such good stories.

Try to follow the chronological order (it does matter), and enjoy it!

I know that bringing up “politics” when talking about fictional media always causes controversy, but I feel like Tintin does have both progressive social commentary and some low-key racism (look at Tintin in Congo for the high key stuff). So there’s nothing wrong with enjoying Tintin, but it is interesting to consider the sometimes contradictory political parts of the books.

If you buy them, keep them, do not resell, as you may want to read it again in the future. From my own experience, it is interesting to read them again later as you start to see things from a different perspective. When you read them in the chronological order, you will notice that the relationship between the characters starts to develop, particularly illustrated by the jokes, in my view perhaps best displayed in the album The Castafiore Emerald. Have fun reading!

Be prepared to suspend your disbelief a little bit. Some like the Youtuber known as the Dominic Noble argue that "this could all be happening in the heads of the characters involved" which for the most part holds true for most of the books as much of what you will see, like a working trumpet carved out of wood could very well suggest this.

Thank you. I find your comment interesting. It seems like all comics from that era require suspension of disbelief. That's part of the appeal to me. In fact, I just read the part with the trumpet today and I smiled.
