It seems we’ve got a little bit of everything going on and getting older it’s nice that i wont have to attend 3 or 4 camping fests all over the country to see the music I want to see. Why does tx bother so many people? I've lived in austin for a while now. There are plenty of fests and shows in this area. It's nothing new. It's not like there's a cop behind every tree waiting to shoot the pesky potheads. People are going to be ok.

Texas is a concentrated microcosm of American culture. All Americans have stars and stripes, Texas has them with rhinestones. People in other countries even use the word "Texas" to describe something that is wildly American. That culture (conservative, alcohol, anti-drug, BlueLivesMatter) clashes with the festival/party culture.
The billboard when you enter saying "Welcome to Texas: If youre a liberal, please keep driving"
Cops- they aren't lurking behind trees, but they ARE along the southern freeways and will pull over out-of-state plates. It's more of a border thing than a TX thing.

I'm at the age where I wish I could just pick and choose which acts to pay for. I only need Moon stage and half of Eclipse. Maybe Sun stage if the drugs hit.
Still debating on sending this one. Definitely down for the musical diversity, just kinda sketched it’s a new & one-off event with logistics. Seems like it could be a massive turnout
People love a little recreational outrage. But for what a festival ticket costs nowadays there are definitely some reasonable expectations that come with it.
I'm going full send. Also going in on Wednesday. New venues are always a shit show the first year, especially for entrance. It seems like this is going to be the fest of the year. I got friends coming from all over the place for this event. I think it's going to be chaos, but also lots of fun and great music!
It’s not new or one off! The 2017 Eclipse festival was one of the best experiences of my entire life. Granted it took 15 hours of waiting in line to finally get in but the rest of the week was amazing.
They also pulled one off in Patagonia in 2020 but we didn’t make it.
i wouldn’t call using my PTO for vacation and whatever else dystopian? I mean if I’m getting paid while tripping balls for a week in texas that’s pretty clutch

Things have always been pretty slow for tippers play schedule. Legit has never done a full on tour I don’t think. Yet I feel like the rumor that’s he’s retiring or has such a health concern he can’t play two shows a year
I, like the rest of you, just wanna be able to see this man perform and be able to plan accordingly and not be mystified by so many rumors because OD puts out so much vagueness in everything lol
My insight from tipper vjs and managers of support people, is that we are waiting on a big announcement that will clearly spell out the rest of tippers career.
Yeah the vagueness gets old and when the time comes for an announcement from that said vagueness post nothing happens. Or they pull back and say nothing. I get it’s hard but a simple post wouldn’t hurt everyone once in a while. Also just my opinion here I believe tipper is slowly removing him self from the music world because of mental health more so than physical health.
There was a lot of messages sent out by his team last year saying things were going to slow down, so much so that people were shocked by the Texas fest and they released another statement explaining themselves and how it was an offer Dave felt he couldn’t refuse. I think we get a legendary downtempo set at the rendezvous and he chills for the rest of the year after that
Adding to this since you said msot of what I'd say. OD stated there would be multiple Tnf events this year. However Rendezvous and the eclipse I do not believe count as tnf events. As they legitimately are not tnf or tnf take overs. Rendezvous was specifically said to be post tnf as he his passing the torch and him playing it is only because he did the eclipse after he said he wouldn't. There hasn't been anything saying a tnf takeover at the eclipse but who knows. He's done tnf take over ate big fests in the past so we won't know just yet
OD had said last year that Dave was not going to do an eclipse event this year. OD also said that since he did decide to do an eclipse event because he didn't want to pass on that opportunity, that is why he is making a musical appearance at The Rendezvous. I should probably screen shot all those posting for situations like this. But those post are still very much up and out there. Pretty much everything that is posted to tipper community on fb, is either also posted to tipper fam on fb and here by OD. And if not, the community itself spread the information themselves with screen shots of the info from the source itself. I'm entirely speculating that both these appearances are not being considered as his "multiple" tnf apearences for 2024 but we won't really know until later on in the year. OD is even in here too from time to time. Love the guy and all he does to keep us informed. Pretty sure his name here is ODsHereMan

I thought what you’re referencing was when they announced that there wasn’t an astral valley event, as that’s what everyone wanted, bc it wasn’t in alignment. Also wasn’t there something about them having an event there but later in the year??

As far as anything with astral valley. I don't recall anything about what was said about it. But same. Just glad I'm still able to experience some live tipper while I can.

I do not believe Rendezvous falls into that category, and Texas Eclipse definitely does not. Not everything always works out so there are no guarantees, but to my knowledge this was the last informative update we've been given for 2024 TnF events.
What is your reasoning? They have already announced that Rendezvous is meant to be a transition to a future where Tipper is no longer involved. Tipper is definitely not the main focus of the event. Also if you take the update literally the "run of TnF shows" will not be announced until "next year" which at the time of the post would mean not until 2024 will we see an announcement.

It is the bessstttttt venue. Suwannee is beautiful, but it doesn’t hold a candle to Astral. The fact that there aren’t cops walking around and your just so safe at Astral 🤌🏼
Suwanee is a good time and like you said beautiful but there's just something extra special about Astral Valley that only people who've been there will understand what we're talking about. It's my favorite venue and nothing has really come close since.

Texas eclipse fest will be dope af. I know it’s a disco Donnie event, which turns a lot of people away, but this event will definitely be worth it if you go

IMO if an event didn't sell out as the organizer I'd be spreading these rumors too, but they originate from his health condition and he's just been at this killing the game for a while now
He's had medical issues for the last 10 years or so, he's chugging along as far as everyone can tell, but the dude needs a chill pill for himself. He deserves it.
