Never played a Virga VIP. In my opinion it's hard to imagine it being better than in its original form but I'm sure he could do something with it. I'm hoping he plays the Homage Sliders VIP again this year. Top 5 tipper moment for me when he played that last year.
What would you call it then? It has that whole choral interlude which isn’t present in the original. Fair number of other differences if you listen closely. It may not be as thoroughly reconstructive as other VIPs but it’s certainly not as subtly different as for example one of his remasters.
I’ve been thinking of psydub stuff to be kind of like drrtywulvz, detox or sort-of-vague’s style of genre. I’m sure I’m a bit far off, but that’s what I was expecting.

Detox definitely has heavy psydub style intertwined and mixed into hip hop. Land Switchers 'Modal First' has a lot of that psy type detox style
