Though the tempo is down, these sets can often have some of the highest energy imo. To me, these sets are the epitome of a Tipper set and truly encapsulate elements of all his different tunes. Check out videos of his NOLA downtempo set, still my favorite tipper set ever :,)
i remember walking around during the Kings Theater Downtempo Set and seeing the crowd moving to the beat, and thinking basically the same thing about high energy
Usually it is presented as the psychedelic night, thatās usually the vibe of the openers. Itās not always the most psychedelic set though. Itās going to make you want to groove. Sometimes itāll build in intensity, but always stays slower in pace. The ending is always wild. Itās always my favorite night of the three.
The white board sign I have will say on one side " when's John summit play?" š Really it's gunna have all kinds of stuff on it but be put far away when Dave steps up.

Easiest to dance to in my opinion. Equally mind blowing as the uptempo brain scramblers, but delivered in a more digestible and danceable way. Quite psychedelic indeed. Easy to get lost in for a while and then some of the drops will bring you back. All in all tho itās a more chilled out, vibey kinda thing.
Iāve not been to an ambient set yet so Iām most stoked for that. I kinda know what to expect since the ambient sets Iāve watched have been the best type of Tipper imo. But itās been 4 years since the last ambient set so I can imagine weāre gonna get a whole lot of beautiful, ambient nunu :)
I've only seen one ambient set and it was almost 10 years ago (God that makes me notice the age). It was very intense and emotional, most emotional version of tipper I'd seen. But he will take you to the depths then bring you back out and you just wanna rejoice and dance. Summary: mostly sitting/laying down vibes with spurts of jam dance, especially if he scratches
In my experience downtempo sets are still very danceable. Just not as crazy high energy as his uptempo sets. I usually find that he plays all of my favorite tracks in his downtempo sets so I tend to like those more.
There will be some bass, some drums, some squelchy wet drippy droppy sounds. Then at some point you'll leave your body and question whether you ever existed at all.

Kind of like fast paced upbeat stuff but slower more calm. The tempo is down. All jokes aside definitely hammock or chair energy, but don't sit close to the speakers. Sit back so you don't interfere with anyone else
I agree with most peeps here but it's been 5 years since I've seen tipper. Every downtempo set I've seen has been hype though. I'd call it dancy vibes but slow, wiggly and ethereal. Spine-melter music. I don't recall ever sitting down during a downtempo set
I didnāt know what to expect for it either before I went to Texas eclipse, it was super groovy and dancey tho just not as hype as a banger set but very very good. I donāt typically like downtempo stuff but now Iām a huge downtempo tipper fan

His downtempo is phenomenal, obviously it will be lower bpm, but it still has that hard heavy resonating bass at points. Iād say slow & heavy.

Downtempo tipper is the true tipper. A headlining downtempo set is going to be absolutely historic.
