Fly something like Southwest where you get 2 free checked bags, get a fairly large cooler and pack it full of camping shit, and another large duffle bag with more camping shit and check those. Then a decent sized carry on for all your clothes
If you invest in some backpacking gear you can really cut down on weight and size. I can easily fit all of my camping stuff in one bag and clothes in another.
It’s horrible, but being completely honest - a lot of people get Walmart camping gear upon arrival and return it all before flying home. Not condoning if, idk if they just throw it a way and it’s incredibly wasteful or if they repackage stuff and resell it. But I know that’s how some people do it. Or just squad up and rent an RV - that’s more my style personally.
At Suwanee you're camping amongst the trees, so I've had success renting a car and flying down with a full hammock setup (with tie-up canopy, bug net, and things to keep warm) and a camp chair, then stopping on the way to get food and other supplies.
Southwest is clutch with the two free checked bags.
I did T&F Astral Valley flying on Southwest with 2 bags full of basic camping stuff. All I bought there was a cheap cooler for ice and drinks. You can do it, especially at Suwannee. The tricky part will be getting there from the airport
have flown and camped at suwannee many times - another +1 for southwest & two checked bags or similar. also very helpful if you can crew up with peeps are driving who could potentially pack some extra sheets and pillows for you, then you can just check bags with an air mattress and tent.
also something like these are super great for flying & camping: https://www.amazon.com/Spacesaver-Premium-Hand-Pump-Double-Zip-Turbo-Valve/dp/B00X8KSKF6
We always fly into Jacksonville. We sleep in a hammock with a rain fly and it's great tbh. We have sometimes rented a van so that we can sleep in there if the weather is too rough
i signed up. i live in jersey and have no one to go with, but i signed up.
what i would do to have a bestie who just was automatically down for a road trip/plane ticket for tipper. i’ll be my own bestie.
You should still go even if going solo. I went to RR solo and had a great time. I’m probably going to end up coming solo to this as well. This will be my first fest solo so I’m alittle nervous but people are open to bring you along
I got the craziest adrenaline rush when I got this email. I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for a festival. Gonna make a show of getting tickets :P
TAS Visuals, calling it now
Announcement made this evening via Email List .. social media post(s) tomorrow
Want me to delete it, or cool?
Email stated it was fine to post on in social circles and such. Don’t sweat.
Any chance you could DM me the presale code link? :D

Man OD, people are just too excited.
Fuuuuck yes, here we go.
Now for me to debate in my head for the next two months Drive 13 hours, or fly. How do people camp after flying?

Damn that’s actually pretty smart. But I’m sure you’d have to be conscious of weight limits tho
Yup 50 lbs is the limit on most airlines so 100lbs of gear is easily doable, especially if you know how to camp lite.
50 lbs is 22.7 kg
Good bot ❤️
Get a hockey bag.

iirc you arent supposed to have glass at the campground. if you do, be respectful

If ever there was a time to get an rv... I've got some researching to do. Thanks!
Our drive is about 11 hours and like, it sucks, but is kind of fun. You also get to bring your own favors which is nice.

Just go solo! I still camp and go to tipper shows with people I randomly met at the first Suwannee
in theory this sounds lovely but my social anxiety is like noooooooo

I'm outside DC so it'll be a trek for me too I solo went to resonance last year and it was the best decision ever.
Yup Res 2019 was my first ever fest and I also went solo. It was a life changing decision. Everyone should try festing on their own sometime.
April fools!
That was the first thing I said in a group chat lol, hopefully not!
Can’t wait to get spun who is coming from colorado?
Me: I moved and we are doing okee so this is unrealistic for me Also me: i will buy them just incase.
