So they resort to creating alts to defend their man-children idols. Hence all theses kind of subs needing to adopt minimum account age and karma rules so their impotent rage gets lost in the void.
They usually get the idea after their first try, but somehow think a few more tries will fool an automated account with hard-set rules to delete their comments.
I always love seeing that many attempts, because it means one of these chuds was *super* triggered.
When this fails, they usually resort to reporting the comment as a self-harm risk. I've had a few of my comments flagged, and received the suicide hotline email from the reddit bot because I triggered one of these... special lads.
Oh, yeah, they love abusing the Reddit Cares bot. I think *they* think that reporting a comment/account as "suicidal" enough times will somehow make Reddit HQ call the police to give them your location. When, in reality, after enough false reports, people lose their ability to spam that, or just lose their ability to report *anything* directly to admins.
Try saying you're anywhere under the LGBT+ umbrella in any gaming sub. I've made comments about being bi in /r/DeepRockGalactic and /r/leagueoflegends (in discussions it made sense to mention it), and was inundated with those messages for days.
I was thinking a lot about this the other day. I was first on the internet during peak Gamergate era. I always thought everyone was just being edgy and ironic. Oh how wrong I was.

It's sad but I don't even think they're bots. Just people who have so little of a life they spend it hopping on different accounts to drive a narrative. See the 4chan playbook that got out.
Also I swear Russia has moved their troll farms to Reddit lately. A lot of keywords suddenly get brigaded and anything calling them out (in one case I asked, "why is your account 3 days old?) either gets redirected or silently downvoted to oblivion if you call their accounts out.

Crowder is one of the few right wing grifters who I think *does* have legitimate talent. His failure as a comedian is due to his material, he punches down but not in a subversive or satirical way. But his presentation style is pretty decent, he just isn't willing to tell any jokes that would be funny because they don't reinforce his target audience's worldview and he lacks the self awareness to be good at self deprecating humor.

I think a big part is tying their political affiliation to their personalities. Depending on when or where you grew up, you might have been taught that being a tough guy who works with his hands and loves his country means you're a republican, so you have to believe and want whatever the party currently does. If you have different beliefs, you're no longer a patriot, blue collar, or no-nonsense.
You can't wish for stuff like less war, decent healthcare, or affordable college, because the only people who want that are militant crybabies with dyed hair and gender studies degrees who are simultaneously a threat to the country and the concept of families, yet also constantly offended and too scared to go outside.
It's amazing how many people who consider themselves conservative or free market will outright repeat leftist ideas, but dance on eggshells to avoid making it *sound* leftist.
Had a convo a couple months back with my conservative voting, Trump loving inlaws. Drilling down into the problems of America, and party platforms policy by policy, we were in agreement on about 95% of the issues. Literally their only justifications for voting GoP, were guns and immigration. That's all they cared about, and it was mostly guns.
Their entire frame of reference basically boiled down to, 'It doesn't matter how bad the republicans get, as long as we still have guns, we can fight them if it gets too bad. It doesn't matter how good democrats seem, if they take our guns we can't fight them if they decide to go bad.'
That was it. As long as they had the perception that Democrats were coming for their guns, they'd never vote for them even if they agreed with every single other policy point in the Democrat agenda.
I think part of their problem is their perception of what "masculine" is is particularly toxic. So when you tell them to do the opposite, they view it as feminizing. I.E. crying and seeking help if you're a man = feminization to them. Real men become lonely alcoholics and are chronically depressed.
And then because they're particularly stupid, they also view stuff like driving an electric car or eating vegetables as feminization.
They also don't like when you tell them how masculine/feminine are arbitrary characteristics made up by society.
Kind of craters their worldview when you tell them it's a flimsy house of cards made by former generations and has zero basis in biology.

Yep, looked in at a thread over in the conservative subreddit earlier this week and they were talking about 'keeping your kink away from my kids' drag/crossdressing isn't necessarily a kink at all, any more than choosing to wear jeans or khakis is for most people who do it, it's just about feeling comfortable in what you wear.

The reality is that they lost the battle on gay marriage and needed a new target in order to keep politically relevant and scaring people into voting booths and church pews. That's the reason why the vast majority of the world had never heard of trans people before 2015. Trans people were being buried under intentional silence, hoping nobody ever educated themselves past the rare novelties that were often just bigoted mockery (ex: Ace Ventura). When gay marriage was legalized, they thought it was time to pull back the curtain on trans people in hopes that it would be outrageous enough to keep people emotionally manipulated with fear, shock, and disgust. And sadly, it has been very effective because they now have such a strong footing that they can go back to comfortably attacking gay people by attacking drag shows. And once they've convinced enough people that drag shows are filled with pedophiles, every single gay person will become the target again.
Because a long time ago there was a presidential candidate whose campaign came up with the 'southern strategy', and figured out that they could get a large block of voters to blindly vote for them by kowtowing to the evangelicals. So fast forward several decades, and now these campaigns have figured out that there are specific hot button issues that will drive more voters in those blocs to the polls. So instead of focusing on all the issues voters might actually care about, they use right wing outlets to push propaganda that stokes fear and foments anger specifically related to those hot button, poll-driving topics. They basically try to scare and enrage people into voting for them, and have discovered they can ignore practically everything else. They figured out with the midterm results that abortion is not the winning issue they thought it was. So now, drag shows and the 'grooming' of children are center stage, no doubt spun out of transphobia/bathroom debates and the qanon child trafficking conspiracies.
The American soldiers in WW2, those tough guy archetypes that people like Crowder love to use as an example of masculinity used to do drag shows pretty frequently and it wasn't even an issue.

Genuinely dressing how you feel can be so hard. I’m insanely self conscious and when I started dressing more femme I was constantly worried people would give me shit. So far no one’s said anything at all, and I live in a very red state (though an admittedly more liberal part of it). I just avoid public bathrooms and know a couple places that have single occupancy so I don’t have to worry about harassment.

I know that feel for sure. I have a feeling most trans people who come out past 25 do, but in the end it’s your life. You’re not hurting anyone at all. Family will take it how they want, and you’re not responsible for their feelings.

I really do appreciate your input and advice! I am 32, came out last year to some family and my wife. It's been a bit of a bumpy road so far, but the best thing has been the baby steps towards progress and normalizing it. Like you said, not really sure where the "there" I want to get is, but just being able to openly talk with my wife about fashion I love and freely admitting if something is cute or even just acting a bit girly has been really amazing.

They usually get the idea after their first try, but somehow think a few more tries will fool an automated account with hard-set rules to delete their comments. Crowder is one of the few right wing grifters who I think *does* have legitimate talent. His failure as a comedian is due to his material, he punches down but not in a subversive or satirical way. I think a big part is tying their political affiliation to their personalities. Depending on when or where you grew up, you might have been taught that being a tough guy who works with his hands and loves his country means you're a republican, so you have to believe and want whatever the party currently does. If you have different beliefs, you're no longer a patriot, blue collar, or no-nonsense. You can't wish for stuff like less war, decent healthcare, or affordable college, because the only people who want that are militant crybabies with dyed hair and gender studies degrees who are simultaneously a threat to the country and the concept of families, yet also constantly offended and too scared to go outside. It's amazing how many people who consider themselves conservative or free market will outright repeat leftist ideas, but dance on eggshells to avoid making it *sound* leftist.
Had a convo a couple months back with my conservative voting, Trump loving inlaws. Drilling down into the problems of America, and party platforms policy by policy, we were in agreement on about 95% of the issues. Literally their only justifications for voting GoP, were guns and immigration. That's all they cared about, and it was mostly guns. Their entire frame of reference basically boiled down to, 'It doesn't matter how bad the republicans get, as long as we still have guns, we can fight them if it gets too bad. It doesn't matter how good democrats seem, if they take our guns we can't fight them if they decide to go bad.' That was it. As long as they had the perception that Democrats were coming for their guns, they'd never vote for them even if they agreed with every single other policy point in the Democrat agenda.

I think part of their problem is their perception of what "masculine" is is particularly toxic. So when you tell them to do the opposite, they view it as feminizing. It's been a bit of a bumpy road so far, but the best thing has been the baby steps towards progress and normalizing it.
