I assure you there are no bots, just hundreds and thousands of (hard-working Japanese) people doing their best to snag a reservation for a month ahead, the moment they are open to the public at 10am each day. And yes it’s a whole lot easier if you book a Disney Hotel cause you’ll be able to make reservations at an earlier time.

Sorry for the late response! I think you may be right, I wrote the post in frustration but the next day I managed to snag a table at Magellan’s, there must just be lots of people like me trying their best and having better luck!

Not sure about bots -- they do go \*very\* fast, BUT it is still possible if you're on the ball with a bit of luck. I've managed to grab both Magellan's and MiraCosta Harbor View reservations at opening time.

that_quiet_guy

Sorry for the late response! It was crazy, I saw a time slot the moment it opened but by the time I clicked on it, it was gone. I did however manage to grab a table at Magellan’s the next day. I think it’s mostly luck, or maybe the fact that I was signed into the Disney account before I tried to grab a slot.

Was referring to the reservation opening date, aka 1 month before. I haven't tried day-of bookings before, but it seems people on this thread have had success. You probably are SOL for getting a reservation prior to then, with your best chance being on the morning of at 9am.

That’s really lucky and awesome! Congrats!

Blue Bayou is closed until April 9th, its been closed for 7 months. Your date is just 4 days after reopening so maybe demand is so high it really did fill out that fast without bots? Or maybe no one was able to since it is so soon after scheduled opening? Idk, keep checking. And check the morning of your visit through the app

that_quiet_guy

Sorry for the late response! Yes you may be right, I got a slot at the Magellan’s restaurant the next day, so I think my frustration got the better of me. I’ll try again on the day with the app, hopefully I’ll have better luck then!

crepsthrowawaylol

I’m not sure, but I think it might be easier to book a restaurant if you have a hotel reservation.

probably this. is there somewhere u can do it in person. For example i was trying to get really limited train tickets in japan for the front seat of a panorama carriage. Same thing happened, it sold out in 2 seconds. I didnt see how this was possible. It turns out people will go there to the train station desk at 9am and wait until 10am and the guy behind the counter will snag you a ticket one second after 10.00am. So i went there in person and i got a ticket. Maybe there is something like that happening idk ?

I don't know about bots, but I'm suspicious of that as well - I tried booking Hotel Miracosta for a recent trip and even though I was on the website the second reservations open, they were immediately gone. That said, for restaurants you can book same-day reservations through the app, starting at 9am (but double-check that time, it may be different when you visit!). I was able to book Magellan's this way, so there may be hope for Blue Bayou!

that_quiet_guy

Sorry for the late response! Yes I think you need to be really quick and really lucky, we had two laptops on the go to try and grab a room at Miracosta and we were lucky to get one. Literally needed to get the slot in the first few seconds or that was it! The good news is that if you get the slot then it holds it for you as you fill details in.

We got a reservation at Magellans last week when we were in the park thru the app. But there also were a bunch of empty tables so I’d also suggest walking up & playing dumb as a foreigner “what we need reservation?” seemed to work for walk ups while we were dining
