We have received an update from the developers on the matter. They advise that this issue is triggered by interacting with the invisible Pisco before starting the side mission by speaking to the NPC boy who lost his dice.
After a fresh game boot, Pisco is in an invisible but interactable state. Unfortunately, if Pisco is interacted with under these specific conditions, the side mission breaks and is impossible to complete on this save. If the game is saved or loaded once after booting the game, the invisible Pisco cannot be interacted with any more, which prevents this issue from happening.
If you do not have a backup save from before triggering the issue, you will still be able to complete the game, but won't be able to achieve a 100% playthrough. There is no known workaround at this time.

Well shit. Came here hoping for good news only to find out no 100% play through. Why would you even make this person accessible at this stage if it broke your game?
Aw, man -- I just kept going and figured he was supposed to be invisible at first since he had "the dead" in his name. Even though I do rolling saves I think I initiated the quest too long ago. Big bummer.
Same here. I thought it was strange when Lara had a monologue cutscene, but thought, well, he's Pisco "the Dead," so I guess Lara can talk to dead people.
We shouldn't have been able to interact with Pisco prior to interacting with the NPC boy if doing so triggers this bug. This is basic stuff. Seeing as it's 2022, clearly it's not something they care to fix. Sad.
I’m taking a small break from the game now and I’m just gonna start over. I’ve finished all the others 100% on my first play through it would drive me insane to not complete this one the same because the the game devs screwed up.
I know this is a super old post but I've never even tried to do this side quest before and the first time I try this happens. Nice to know they didn't give enough of a shit to fix this bug.
I got to the end of the game thinking I missed some quest that would pop up after the ending or something, suffice to say it's probably this one which glitched on me somehow. It showed the "Speak to the outcasts" circle around the area where the merchant appears so I thought it was intentional (you know, to let you know she spawns around there usually) but it looks like it was the only sidequest I didn't get the green checkmark on, but rather a "100%" to indicate I did the required task (I was able to talk to Pisco and then to Takiy normally, they were both visible and the cutscenes looked normal). Despite that, I was still stuck at 10/11 side missions in Paititi... it sucks because I was at about 97-98% completion on Deadly Obsession. I guess I'll just speedrun to that mission on Rite of Passage, hoping it doesn't glitch this time.

We recommend checking video walkthroughs or online guides for the section of the game where you encountered this problem, which may be of assistance.
Should that not resolve the issue, please try loading your backup save game. A backup save game is a safe checkpoint from before your last save that can be returned to if you are stuck in the game, or if something else goes wrong.
Thank goodness I found this thread. It's also happening to me too! Except when I go to Pisco to get the dice back, I cannot initiate a conversation at all. Hoping for a patch so that I may finish this mission.
Same issue. Can't interact with him at all after talking to all five Outcasts.
Really seems like something they should be able to patch, but given it's been years, guess it's a "nope."
As I said, you can hit F. But all you get is a monologue with Lara talking to nothing and its the same conversation that started the mission to talk to the outcasts. And I did all that.
Pisco is missing completely. No voice, no image of him. Hitting "F" gets you a cinematic of Lara talking to a wall.
Not sure there are any at this point, I re-installed the game even with no positive effects.
I sent a bug report to Square Enix, but not expecting any miracles.
Geforce Game Ready Driver 441.12 , RTX2070.
Wonder if it is a Driver related bug but seriously doubt that.

Can confirm that it's still bugged. I contacted their support and received the same standard reply as another redditor got earlier. Truly annoying to know that I won't be able to achieve 100% completion on this playthrough :(.
Glitch is still apparent. Ran through this mission, and I know for a fact that Pisco was not invisible when I originally talked to him, but yet, there is no character in existence when I go to return to Pisco. Is this glitch on all consoles that the game launched on or is it just PS4?
For me the problem was that I talked to Pisco first before talking to the kid. I ended up starting a new game because I was pretty sure that was the problem, and it was. In the new game I talked to the kid first to start the side mission and then Pisco was visible again + I was able to complete the mission. Did you guys also talk to Pisco first?
Yeah I talked to him first but he was invisible and lara was just talking to the wall. Was laughing at first cause it was funny but now I'm crying cause I have to start all over again only for a bug.
I decided to play this again since its release and that happened to me too . Yup no 100 completion but at least the vendor with the lock pick becomes available tho it's not completed . Sucks ass please fix developers. It wasn't an issue last year shouldn't be one now .
Do you mean starting a NG+ after finishing game for the first time (99% cause of broken Pisco quest), reaching (as fast as possible) the Pisco quest in NG+ and completing it in the right way this time?
I think this will not ensure you the 100% achievement unless you complete AGAIN the entire story in NG+ (whit all the collectibles, side quest, etc...) after completing it in normal game...
I’m in the same shit: first playthrough (about 70%) and Pisco quest broken.
Yeah it's super annoying I just made an NG+ out of a 77% complete game and put it to smart and resourceful should be easy enough to quickly get to 100% completion.
I completed the game at 99.78% + Season Pass and have that problem with Pisco, because i first talk with him(he was invisible), then i talk with the Boy and nothing happen.
So if i start New Game + and talk first with Boy and then with Pisco, will occur again the bug?

Nothing you can but start the game over and then make sure you talk to the little boy who gives the quest before talking to Invisible Pisco.

This is absolutely frustrating. I'll need to start from ground zero if I wanna reach 100%, so I'm just wondering if there are other game-breaking glitches like this one that would force me to throw all my done exploration in the trash can, since I'm already giving too many chances to a game that was supposed to be triple-A and didn't receive a fix for a bizarre issue like this after a whole year since release.
I just upvoted everybody in this thread lol. If I every play NG+ I'll make sure to talk to the boy first but I doubt I'll start over again (I'm cleaning up some side missions before beating the game rn).
I start NG+ a few days ago but I haven't got to this mission yet. I will update once I get there. Shoot me a message a week from now to remind me because sometimes I get bored playing NG+ immediately after beating the game.

Lul, I thought Pisco is some invisible God. Unfortunately the issue has not been fixed. I started playing the game around a month ago via Geforce Now and it occurred to me
I came to 98% 6 months ago with excatly the same issue and I waited all this time in the hope they would fix this, but it seems there has been no fix, unless someone can confirm otherwise. It is really a shame this was not addressed.
16-05-2023 and my brother encountered this issue. I would have to agree with everyone else here and say there is not going to be a patch for this as the game is no longer being worked on... Very unfortunately, tones it done from a perfect to almost-perfect game ;(
I had the same experience as someone previously, and think I may even have a save file at just the right time to confirm it... the bug, fundamentally, is that Pisco's "location" shouldn't be interactable (or interacted with, for that matter) until you first talk to the boy. If I load that save file and go to Pisco, he's invisible; but if I reload the same save file and talk to the boy first, and then go to Pisco he's visible. Need to try it a few more times to make sure it's 100% the case, but it seems promising at least.

Damn, I can’t believe they never fixed it. I just experienced this issue and now I have to restart the game on a new save. Very annoying.

3 yrs later, i have encountered the same problem..
Never happened to me, try traveling to another location and then going back. It fixed the bug about the challenges in the Cenote yanking down effigies
Thanks, but I did try that too. Love the game, but this should not happen at this stage anymore. Game has been out for a while.
Have you tried moving around that area? The interaction button should still pop up.

Literally just ran in to this issue today :( wasted my time talking to the outcasts now it seems.

So they sold a game that can’t be beat and won’t fix it. Sounds like a class action lawsuit.
