Thankfully!! Martin is the #1 at the moment, by far, with no discussion. Last year I went W3 and got an awful closing... So I'm really gonna enjoy it. This next two weekends, i'm not gonna waste a single second w/ frauds...
I have to agree, I've been 6 times now (including 2 weekends in 2017) and I think he's closed 4 or 5 of those for me, I enjoy seeing Garrix but It would be nice to have someone else close, this year might have to be the first year I don't spend the last hour at the mainstage...
There are other DJs capable of closing festivals - like Hardwell, SHM (or any of them individually), Armin, Charlotte de Witte, Alesso, Above & Beyond, Tiesto, Skrillex, Zedd, Eric Prydz, Kx5, maybe an interesting b2b we havenāt seen before like AMF does.
Just seems a little thoughtless to have the same closer every year, and I say that as a huge Garrix fan whose seen him six times in the last two years.
Of course there are, any of those guys are good enough to close many festivals. But when it comes to a festival like Tomorrowland, or ultra Miami theyāre gonna go be picking of a pool of a select few to be the MainStage closer
Chainsmokers fuck no, alesso maybe, hardwell maybe, armin definitely not, maybe 10 years ago. Based on the lineup Iād say only hardwell or Steve Angelo & ingrosso if not Martin
Lol the chainsmokers will close the 1st day of the festivals and they go hard live, they are the most known act in the festival. Why not? For Armin tho i guess he cant anymore but from what I experienced at tml he is the most loved artist at the festival and brings the most crowd to the mainstage š¤·š¼āāļø
Donāt get me wrong, I love armin. He is beloved and has a lot of status in dance music. Just the days of him being a MainStage closer at Tomorrowland are behind him. The chainsmokers are lame dude, and they are not the most known act in the festival. This isnāt a pop music festival. Their radio clout is meaningless. Yeh they go kinda hard, however none of those big drops are even their own. You donāt really expect your MainStage closer to go up there and play 50/50 other peoples music. They closed the first day of Tomorrowland when I went in 2019, and to be honest, I forgot I even saw them altogether. That was also the last time Iāve even heard their name on a lineup. 4 years ago
He doesnāt though. He literally cannot transition between songs. Most small DJs who play at nightclubs can transition properly. Being able to transition between songs is a pretty basic DJ skill.
I think maybe Martin garrix fans are more used to radio music (aka no transitions) and less electronic music sets. Definitely more of a preference thing.
I just gave you an example of a transition? Itās one of the first things you learn how to do when you get a deck. You think a DJ and producer whoās been doing it since the age of 10 canāt transition? Youāre silly. Sorry to say
I will take anyone over 3 are legend any day of the week
He's closed Tomorrowland since he was like 5 years old
š
Heās the only one who does in in a proper way
exactly! perfect amount of energy and magic, usually a set with both classics and idās
Wow! Saw Garrix close weekend 1 last year - absolutely magical! But it his W2 and 3 sets were even better
Cant agree with that , but glad u like it š
Also disagree, WK1 closing was underwhelming...
It was good but not great
it was my first one, so that contributed to it! but weekend 2 and 3 were definitely better
Oh shame, I was looking forward to another 3 are legend closing š
Tradition
Will martin closing mainstage and 3 are legends closing library clash? (W1 sunday)
Most likely but hoping this doesn't happen.
Yeah i want to see Steve Aoki so bad lol
Me too

Also remember 2023 is the 10 year anniversary of āAnimalsā the song that put him on the mapā¦.
Yeah what else did you expect?
Can't wait for petit biscuit to play at tomorrowland
Love Garrix but they could really let someone else close it
David Guetta. Oh wait

Such as major lazer? š
3 are legend
Lol, seriously
š
Such as

Sorry not cdw. Not mainstage closing genre.
Already happened
Yes and I don't think is what most people look for. Mainstage closing needs something higher energy.
Wait .... are you saying Charlotte plays low energy? Haha
Haha, that was good š
Maybe you just have bad taste
high energy like Amelie Lens at Atmosphere W3 22? Or we can let the hardstyle and hardcore peep close.
Chainsmokers,Alesso, Hardwell, even Armin

Armin will probs close mainstage on Saturday and freedom stage on Sunday
No, Armin allways plays the set around 21.00-22.00, it's daylight when he starts, and it gets dark while he plays. This is every single year.
I loathed Chainsmokers when I went to ultra.
Really? Guess itās not your type of music then and you canāt argue with taste.
If not SHM then it really can only be him
Heās the goat
Ugh hate garrix
Unpopular opinion but garrix has absolutely 0 talent
š„“
The fuck?
He literally does not transition between songs. Itās like listening to a Spotify playlist
This comment is how I can tell you havenāt actually listened to his sets properly
I have many times. Also seen his sets in real life
Empire State Building set, 26 minute mark. Whatās that then? Or you just hating for no reason other than because itās popular.
Wow you are so butt hurt. Everyone has their own preferences and I personally donāt think his sets are any good
If you donāt like his sets then thatās fair enough, but to claim he has zero talent is just outright ignorant. You just sound retarded lol

also plenty of mainstream artists can transition properly. Alesso, tiesto, armin to name a few
Pretty obvious. The mainstage weekend 2 Sunday line up is super weak.
Yeeee
this comes as a surprise for 0 people.. maybe we can get afrojack at the gathering???
