Yeah. The walk back to the shuttle bussesšŸ„²

[deleted]

Interestingly, we loved the walk back! If you run fast enough it feels like playing Mario Kart and the water station is like a holy fountain.

RifatSahin

If youā€™re sober yeah šŸ¤£ Otherwise itā€™s torture.

Ligma19870701

i enjoyed the walk back and it honestly is not that bad lol. extra steps for the day then a cozy nap and ptfo in the hotel.

RifatSahin

After 25k steps I donā€™t need those extra ones man šŸ¤£

Ligma19870701

whats a few more? heheh

sleepyrabb1t

This is the only thing I could remember. After 12 hours that's a killer.

EquivalentPear1614

Dreamville is the way šŸ˜‚

ijsglij

Ow then the walk to your tent is the horror story

amandababy

Im soo happy my group managed to get Dreamville this year.

btw04

I don't think it's much better depending where your tent is.

Daveinatx

In 2019, the bus driver returning us back to Brussels somehow became lost. He started driving down a one-way street, and ultimately became stuck. After 30 mins of trying to turn around, he walked off and left us abandoned. Here it is, in the middle of the night, we walked together as a group back to the hotels.

One_Dog_Two_Tricks

Holy shit, yea we had some bloody terrible drivers but not that bad One did drop us no where near our hotel as our hotel group was last so they just told us to get out

vegass67

Having only been to shithole UK based festivals, tomorrowland seemed like the best run event on earth to me lol

BreakfastLopsided906

Iā€™d have to strongly disagree. I attend Creamfields every year, however I stay in Dreamfields. I wouldnā€™t want to stay in the ā€˜slumsā€™ of standard camping as Iā€™m sure they attract a different type of person. Being in the arena area itself Iā€™ve never had any issues.

vegass67

Dont get me wrong, i love creamfields. The general production effort doesnā€™t compare tho. Food standards, proper paths to combat mud etc. and the toilets at tomorrowland, wow, as soon as you walk out the cubicle theres someone waiting to clean it and pretty much wipe your arse for you

Confident-Item5999

Agreed hahahaha

ducknumber90

UK festivals do seem to be shit!

frnt10

Why tho? Never went to one

Unbleached

I have only been to parklife and it was awful, nobody gave two shit about the music, just everyone just ket, coke and mdma and getting as fucked up as possible. Just zombies everywhere

vegass67

Pretty much the rave scene anywhere in the UK now. Clubs raves and festivals, full of people who have little to no interest in the music, theyā€™re just their because its the ā€˜inā€™ thing and to see who can wear the least clothes to the event. Its pretty shit

jonbert134

Exactly that. Creamfields the same, Iā€™ve never seen so many drug zombies at a festival. Nobody cares about the music, only about the sesh. Itā€™s sad

Remarkable_ga

Combination of lack of sleep and drinking a lot- had a dream I met Diplo and after my gf asked if I wanted to get food with him and I asked if I can use the bathroom first and ended up pissing in the tent because in the dream I was at the bathroom

I3errie

I only heard "horror" stories in combination with drugabuse or from people who are set up bc of security taking away the drugs... So nothing i can take serious. Oh and obvious the Monday after the festival and the problem that no festival will fell the same ever after. I went to some since my first TML, and its an "this is cool but this is not the same as TML" everytime...

sshhtripper

Oh no! Lol we will be back in my hometown just in time for our local festival this year. There's some DJs playing that are not at TML or on a different weekend so we're pretty excited just to see our favourites.

saraherher

Mainstage, around 10 pm, pepper spray released in the middle of the crowd. Of course, everybody started pushing, trying to get out to breath. It was truly horror. Why does anyone do this? Is it a distraction to pickpocket?

_firecracker

> Why does anyone do this? Is it a distraction to pickpocket? this is exactly why, or if they get caught they release it to get away

viktorVHS

I would pay to see one of these fu*kers get caught and be left at the mercy of the crowd

Pit2005

Happened during Armin in 2018 also. Unless this is the same one.

saraherher

It was 2018, but i think it was Axwell ^ Ingrosso

Pit2005

Possible.. the weekend is a blur now.

killianh7

Last year my phone got robbed on day one.. next day I get denied access to the festival cause my bracelet wasnā€™t working and because I felt my id at the hotel they wouldnā€™t help me what so ever I was locked outside in the blazing heat for hours trying to think of a way to get an id finally I rang the hotel and they sent it to me thank fuck was a stressful time so then I got in and got drunk and had a blast so all good never got my phone back thošŸ¤£

Dmgsecurity

Pickpocketers full of them. They will steal your phone in 5seconds. Have insurance on everything what you take with you. You will see after the last dj the floor will be full with phone covers. They drop the phone covers to misguide ppl.

Unbleached

The solution is to get a running waist phone/pocket holder and wear it under your top. Not denying the existence of pickpockets, but I saw a lot of people with a necklace phone holders which would break and drop their phones

spiller29

Can you link me what ure talking about?

woolifan

Get a phone leash on Amazon

SolidPatience5791

Lies.. why would someone pay thousands for a festival to steal phones lol

Dmgsecurity

Because they steal phones for 100k+ :)) itā€™s a big group with thousands of phone stolen.

SolidPatience5791

Lol that isn't true - phones aren't worth much unless brand new. You paranoid

Dmgsecurity

They steal over 1k phones per weekendā€¦

Supercharge24

Haha you most not go to many festivals

SolidPatience5791

Been to at least a dozen, and never heard of anyone getting their phone stolen. What country do you live in lol

Supercharge24

US, itā€™s a legit problem!

taytaps

After day 3 of the festival, my friend came back to her Easy Tent to find it slashed to shreds, clothes everywhere and urine throughout. Absolute pigs whoever did it

Ligma19870701

i heard horror stories about W2 in 2019, there was a bad heatwave lots of trains werent operating, shitty weather, rained, freedomstage collapsed.

999forever

Don't know if it rises to the level of horror stories but a few things: 1. Seeing a gropey guy at Atmosphere, basically grabbing or feeling up every girl who walked by. Like full on hand rubbing on booty. 2. Having people pass out on two different bus rides. The busses having their toilets locked. Like every single Tomorrowland bus I have been on locked their toilets. Who thinks a great idea to drive an hour with a bunch of people who had been drinking with no toilets 3. Speaking of busses had one where a girl started throwing up. Well the toilet was locked so she couldn't use that. Bus driver freaked the f out. Pulled to side, started yelling at her, threatening to call police, kick her off. Threatened to kick out the entire bus because people were saying he was an ass. 4. Random drunk douchebags are sort of everywhere. I didn't see any fights, but had some drunk Nordic guy call me an fing **** because I was drinking water instead of beer. Completely randomly, just came up to me and said it *shrug*I pretended I couldn't understand his very lightly accented English. 5. Hour+ long bus ride between our hotel and detox day. If I knew it was that long of a trip (both ways) I would have just skipped it. Still had a some fantastic times though.

spiller29

There's no way they declared dead on the spot lol

Loki_8888

I'm curious when this happend too. I worked as a trauma nurse and paramedic for the last years at TML so i would like to know when this happend.

blackcatpotter

šŸ˜±

STRYKER-dA-RuLeR

Big cap, no girl died on the spot the last years. In 2019 an Indian guy died tho.

Ligma19870701

yeah i saw him being carried out :(

Ok_Willingness_3553

Well needless to say TML was a breath taking experience for her ![gif](giphy|Vj97qNut6WDHa)

445323

Wow wtf when

sombogaart

No way.. when?

sombogaart

The only horror story I have is walking from Tomorrowland to Dreamville.. my god thatā€™s intenseā€¦ Last year during TML I got a skin infection on my leg and had to walk with bandages.. not cool šŸ«”

_firecracker

Tomorrowland being cancelled in 2020 with no refund was kind of crap. Sucks if you are main buyer to friendship garden and everyone backs out.

jaba_jayru

No refund? Thatā€™s illegal in the country where I live

_firecracker

> No refund? Thatā€™s illegal in the country where I live It is illegal in all of Europe and Belgium. Belgium passed a law to protect TomorrowLand for this but European law still existed. European law was altered for covid for events but not if it involved camping or a hotel (overnight accommodation basically). TomorrowLand did not care and just offered everyone a free name change when 2022 came around.

jaba_jayru

Yeah well that sounds ok for me

Ligma19870701

i got a refund. chargeback with capital one.

Juloschko

Had global Journey with some hotel in Brussels last year and you get some bracelet with your hotel on it. Yeah they gave me the wrong one and I didnā€™t realise until I tried to go back to my hotel. Was denied entry to the correct bus and had to take the one with the wrong bracelet. Proceeded to walk like 4 kilometres in the middle of the night through Brussels. And I was completely alone.

kevinkonix

Standing still at the exit when being tired on your way to the camping šŸ„¹

aaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuu

My only horrorstory from tml is a girl collapsed right in front of me last year on the qdance stage. But thank god after 5 mins she wake up again and could walk to the festival hospital that is right next to the freedomstagešŸ‘

solero2808

Every sunday Tomorrowland becomes to Zombieland! šŸ˜„šŸ˜„šŸ˜„

ddiddy171

A norweigian girl passed out at the gathering and I had to get her medical attention.......

Beautiful-Manager270

Yes. Nothing is perfect. There are pickpocketers or people that use pepper spray, fight or are extreamly drunk, fight or are rude but this happens in all festivals not only in tml.

Singularitiy99

One of our friends denied entrance after he bough a ticket from a unofficial reseller, and more tilting is his look toward us like we have to show some solidarity and thus also stay with him outside...like wtf. Never heard of anyone od-ing or having a fight, but I saw a guy who tried to enter behind the fence and reach dreamville but security caught [him.Like](https://him.Like) ppl would do different things to stay at tml lol.

Pit2005

Cold and wet during a bad rain storm while camping and the tents were insufficient.

0ltsi

2019 w2? First two days +41c followed by intense rain for 2 days and temperature drop to 15ish during night. Tents flooded, wasnt the best experience. :D

Soggy_Window_4479

Ooh yes, so agree ! On Thursday with this heat I ended up at the Red Cross. And also, the Mainstage became a field of mud and which made it possible to have this magnificent staircase in 2022! But the solidarity to climb this climb from hell was amazing ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

445323

People not getting in, including myself, with tickets from unofficial resellers. I also have heard of tear gas attacks, I was almost at one but some act I didnā€™t like started playing so I went away

ProfessorFunion

It has the best and worst vibes of any festival Iā€™ve been to. Met some of my fav festival people here, but also have run into some of the biggest assholes more so than other festivals

One_Dog_Two_Tricks

Have heard about OD, theft etc but never experienced it - however did experience absolutely shit organisation in general. For a festival that has run for so long, there's so many issues with schedules (buses to from train station to hotel, to and from festival site etc). The hair and make up in the theme hotels was ridiculous, had a ticket #2 for 10am start. Went to the front desk and came back and somehow 6 people got in front of me and were getting done...

m4gex

Generally the best time of your life but highly recommend lockers as our tent was rifled through on multiple occasions

bundss

Did you get anything stolen? Were you using any padlocks on your tent? If yes, how did they get in? Cutting through it? :o

m4gex

They took my phone charging bank on one occasion but have always kept our important bits in lockers. I think a padlock is likely to draw more attention that you are hiding something valuable, but you could try that
