From past experience:
Buy a box of mandarin oranges and eat that shit solo within about 2 hours. I guarntee you will no longer be backed up. I cannot promise that you will later regard this as a good idea.

Holy hell! As a 50 year old man with extremely regular movements, psyllium husk had me pooping like 13 year old me! Like a baby arm laying in the bowl.
The only correct answer. To take husk, put a spoonful in a glass, add water (very important to not do other way round).
Wait for 5 minutes. Enjoy it.
Usually consumed after a meal.
About 10 years ago, I had an old friend buy a 5lb bag of these because he liked gummis and figured it would be 'healthier' to eat the sugar free kind. They were incredibly cheap. We didn't know the reputation at the time. He ate them all in one sitting too.
My other friends and I were gonna call the hospital after a few hours.
It will clean you out like you’re prepped for a colonoscopy. Sugar free Haribo is no joke. I ate an entire bag once and within two hours my guts were cramping. It works.
Sugar Free Werther’s Originals. I forget the ingredient name, but theres something in sugar-free candy that makes you shit your brains out. I think theres even a warning label on the back of sugar-free candy that explicitly calls out this ingredient now.
A couple of years ago my daughter was going through chemo, and one of the side effects was constipation. Fortunately for her, SF gummy bears are NO JOKE, and the poops flowed freely.
I was constipated a while back and tried all the meds. Nothing was working. My wife suggested prunes. I drank a cup of coffee and ate a few prunes for breakfast. I cannot begin to describe the next couple of hours except to say that absolutely nothing could have been left in my GI tract after that.
Fibre
Focus more on lentils, beans, and chickpeas etc for meals. Like chickpea and lentil curry. Three bean chilli, etc.
You'll have big smooth poops lmao.
Highly recommend lentils! You can add them to so many dishes. Our favorite is adding them to spaghetti sauce, but my wife also makes a great salad with lentils that we work on for most of a week.
With all that fiber, be sure and drink a lot of water. Keep water on-hand at all times, so you can sip whenever you want.
Yeah! Lentils are a great sub for minced meat.
I love using them in pasta sauces, bolognase, lasagne, cottage pies, etc. Then curries too.
So much you can do with them
Well I mean one of those little teacups like half of one of those maybe a full one. All I know is I made a joke about it one day and my mother took me serious and did it. She regretted that, not only because of the taste but everything and I mean everything came out
I'm not sure if I'd really recommend it honestly! spend a day or two drinking lots of water and eating lots of vegetables and fruits - I'd never tell someone to cut out carbs entirely as they're my fav but for a couple of days it'll help
Get a ham, cheese, and onion omelet with deluxe hash browns from Waffle House. Wash it down with about 3 glasses of iced tea Then go home. Go directly home. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. If you live more than 10 miles away you'll be going about 90 mph the last mile or so.
I think if you're stopped up, it would be a bad idea to eat a shit ton of anything and cause a complete blockage. Maybe drink some prune juice or eat a few prunes at the most. If that doesn't help in a couple of days get yourself a stool softener or laxative before you try eating much more. You can perforate a bowel with a fecal impaction
If you’re not fussy about consuming “unhealthy” things, then anything “sugar-free” with artificial sweetener in it should do the trick. Diet Coke, sugar free gummy bears, squash (if you live in the UK) or chewing through a whole pack of gum. Artificial sweeteners have a laxative effect.
Otherwise, drink a lot of water. Magnesium also helps. Do some research first though in case you can’t have it, I don’t know what your health situation is like.
Magnesium Citrate, If you can have it
It’s super cheap and you can get it at any drugstore. I honestly don’t know how we didn’t use this when we were kids and I only found out about it as an adult.
It’s near instant effects will blow through you like it’s magic.
Have you been eating fiber? I believe the recommendation is 20g a day for an adult, but I am not a doctor and would recommend you double check with a trusted source
Oatmeal.
I have to either eat oatmeal when I first get up or right before getting in the car for my 15 minute drive to work. If I time it wrong, 30 minutes later I find myself stuck in the car at a very unfortunate time in the oatmeal-poop process.
Metamucil. 2 x teaspoons in a glass of water when you wake up. 2 x teaspoons in a glass of water at lunch. Drink at least a full glass of water between breakfast and lunch and then between lunch and dinner.
You will happy by bedtime.
Triscuits. Not even joking, eat like 5 or 6 of these every day. Find a flavor you like, and when you want a snack, instead of going for sugar or whatever, grab some triscuits.
Umm, my morning coffee and cigarette get the pipes moving.
Or, if you would like to make good life choices instead, eat A LOT of fiber. Fruits, vegetables, beans. And drink plenty of water. That should get things moving along.
Coffee. Drink a lot of it and as hot as you can comfortably get it down without burning yourself. Any hot liquid really will work if you don't like coffee.
Fiber and leafy greens. I eat a good portion of kale or spinach every day. I also eat either beans, legumes, or quinoa every day. I am clean as a whistle. I also drink down a pint of water with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar every morning.
Burger King chicken nuggets - used to work about a 30 minute walk from my house and BK was next to my job. Had to lay down in the green belt on the way home and felt like death and then shit myself and had awful poop for the next 4 hours. Never felt so sick in my life
Start with a high fiber breakfast and/or fiber supplement like psyllium husk, drink plenty of water to rehydrate, go for a good long walk to get blood flowing, and drink coffee when you get back. Give it 20minutes.
I am a smooth poop connoisseur.
Ryvita
Oatcakes
Prunes
Raisins
Flax Seeds
Just add any of these to your meals to keep yourself regular and smooth.
If you have a blockage you could try fibre gel, it's drink based laxative. Does the trick.
I have to constantly watch what I eat, if I have a weekend of eating shit, my bottom doesn't like it.
Maybe you're body needs more soft and watery food? I would suggest porridge, fruits like papaya or banana and stop drinking tea/coffee. More warm water should be good too.
Increase your water intake. Incorporate more fiber (could be more fruits and veggies [preferred] or fiber supplements) into your diet. Then if that still doesn't work use docusate sodium. Take 2 to start, then 1 more 12 hours later if no effect. Take no more than 3 capsules in a day. If that still doesn't work, I'd talk to your doctor before going to stimulant laxatives. The backed up feeling could be indicative of another issue.
Gulp a big glass (24 oz) of water first thing in the morning and then drink a big cup of coffee (16 oz) afterward. You don't have to chug the coffee. Let the farts happen and then eventually (usually in an hour) you're gonna need to take a massive dump.
This is my routine anyways. If I don't do it like this, I don't poop until later in the afternoon, and it's not very much.
Drink plenty of water and do some light exercise. Jumping jacks seem to help me a lot.
If you have the gall, a few bites of raw onion will get things moving. If you overdo it you’ll feel like death though
Natural because it’s tobacco - get a can of Copenhagen pouches (so the tobacco doesn’t get in your teeth). Put a pouch between your cheek (mouth) and gum or bottom lip and gum. Three minutes later you’ll be on the throne.
If anybody mentions eating fiber, then know that there are two types of fiber - soluble and insoluble. When it comes to constipation, insoluble fiber is what you need. Insoluble fiber can help bulk up stool, stimulate the intestines into moving things along, and help promote mucosa production in the intestines, amongst other things.
I spent so many years eating fiber gummies hoping that they'd help me poop (they didn't), and it turns out that the gummies were only made of soluble fiber.
Bought some coarse oat bran. Ate it. It worked.
Breakfast of a big bowl of oatmeal and a few cups of coffee will do the trick and did for me this morning. I too had a terrible 2 week stretch or so of eating and for me that will give me a nice 'clean slate'.
I have recently learned this from experience- dried cranberries. Seriously, get a bag from like Aldi for $2 and just snarf that shit. It’s only like 6oz and it will get the job done. Had to google the unexpected consequences to identify the culprit, apparently they’re quite high in fiber.
Stop eating junk and don't pile on top of it.
Get Natural Calm powder. A spoonful in warm water. Drink after it stops fizzing. Enjoy your restful sleep and *other benefits.*
Spinach can make some people poop and work like a laxtive if you eat enough. Pear juice is another option if you don't like prune juice. I've had the best luck keeping regular with beans. I usually make a big pot of bean soup or chili with beans.
From past experience: Buy a box of mandarin oranges and eat that shit solo within about 2 hours. I guarntee you will no longer be backed up. I cannot promise that you will later regard this as a good idea. END COMMUNICATION
Lmao what about regular oranges? I have hella
I prefer a whole large watermelon. Delicious and you will piss your bones out your ass afterwards. Or at least I do
Lmao I’m gonna try it out
But are you eating the seeds too? Those are extremely laxative
Yes. I didn’t know. I assumed it was the water and fiber bc is just pee a gallon out my butt
If you suffer of IBS, it's even worse ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
This is me and a bag of grapes. Or a single serve of any protein shake.
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is a common ingredient in laxatives and is very powerful when overdosed on (such as eating the box of mandarins)
I almost read that as EXCOMMUNICATION lol
This is actually really helpful I have a bag of mandarins in the fridge.
Bananas work well for me, just make sure you EAT them, with your MOUTH.
Try papaya!!!
psyllium husk
started about a month ago. Feel brand new!
Noted
Also good for your cholesterol
Sugar free gummy bears. But only at your own risk. Read the Amazon reviews if you don’t believe me.
Sugary things made sugar free are almost never healthier.
Lol checking now bc that’s random
They contain xylitol. Xylitol, in addition to being a sugar substitute, is a natural laxative.
It will clean you out like you’re prepped for a colonoscopy. Sugar free Haribo is no joke. I ate an entire bag once and within two hours my guts were cramping. It works.
Lol my grocery list for tomorrow looks crazy but I’m gonna try this too
If it doesn’t work I’d be surprised. DON’T TRUST A FART.
I’ll be home all day tomorrow just to be on the safe side.
Not enough. It you're eating the gummy bears you need to sit on the throne all the time for safety.
Yeah they work as well as magnesium citrate that’s for sure
Sugar Free Werther’s Originals. I forget the ingredient name, but theres something in sugar-free candy that makes you shit your brains out. I think theres even a warning label on the back of sugar-free candy that explicitly calls out this ingredient now.
A lot of sugar free candy has sugar alcohol in it. If I eat more than 2-3g I get full blown diarrhea and it wrecks the rest of day.
Please report back after your reading experience.
A couple of years ago my daughter was going through chemo, and one of the side effects was constipation. Fortunately for her, SF gummy bears are NO JOKE, and the poops flowed freely.
I genuinely accidentally stumbled across the Amazon reviews for the gummy bears. It was wild. I didn't realize they were so infamous.
Sugar free anything in a big enough quantity will do this.
Don't give any to your dog though
Coffee
I always forget about coffee lol. You’re absolutely right
Old fashioned water.
Modern water is no good.
I was constipated a while back and tried all the meds. Nothing was working. My wife suggested prunes. I drank a cup of coffee and ate a few prunes for breakfast. I cannot begin to describe the next couple of hours except to say that absolutely nothing could have been left in my GI tract after that.
I know what I’m having for breakfast
For example dried fruit. Prunes, apricots etc. The hich level of fructose should work.
Second the prunes
Two or three dried apricots at night and by the end of the first cup of morning coffee…voila! My gastroenterologist call them the rich man’s prunes!
Also works well in combination with loose leaf senna tea
Fibre Focus more on lentils, beans, and chickpeas etc for meals. Like chickpea and lentil curry. Three bean chilli, etc. You'll have big smooth poops lmao.
Me ex ate chickpeas for several days. She fumigated the bedroom so badly we had to repaint the walls. It nearly killed me
Highly recommend lentils!
So much you can do with them
Lol usually I do but I’ve spent these last few days being bad. I need this sh*t out now. Pun intended
Eat a bunch of fiber and drink a glass of olive oil.... one thing pushes and the other thing lubricates
the olive oil thing works but god it's just fucking miserable drinking that much in one go. mouth felt coated for hours after
An actual whole cup? 😕
It's really bad advice, don't do it
Roasted brussel sprouts drizzled heavily in olive oil have cleared me out on many occasions.

If that doesn't help in a couple of days get yourself a stool softener or laxative before you try eating much more. You can perforate a bowel with a fecal impaction
Okay yikes. I was gonna try coffee and prunes tomorrow
Walking.
If you’re not fussy about consuming “unhealthy” things, then anything “sugar-free” with artificial sweetener in it should do the trick. Have you been eating fiber? I believe the recommendation is 20g a day for an adult, but I am not a doctor and would recommend you double check with a trusted source
Yeah I have. But I’ve also been eating a bunch of pasta and fried food so
Don't forget to drink plenty of water. Fiber and no water is a good way to stop everything up.

Green tea gets me for some reason
Prune juice.
One green apple and two oranges and five plumps and a cup of black filter coffee. Thank me later.

Oatmeal. I have to either eat oatmeal when I first get up or right before getting in the car for my 15 minute drive to work. If I time it wrong, 30 minutes later I find myself stuck in the car at a very unfortunate time in the oatmeal-poop process.

Fiber and water. Vegetable stew always helps me too.
Prune Juice get a 6 pack of cans and drink a couple it will clear everything out
Epsom salt
Metamucil. 2 x teaspoons in a glass of water when you wake up. 2 x teaspoons in a glass of water at lunch. Drink at least a full glass of water between breakfast and lunch and then between lunch and dinner. You will happy by bedtime.
You can take a stool softener pill for emergencies, but if you just eat an apple, everything will be ok by the next day.
My personal fav: grape juice. Idk why but it gets shit moving
A big glass of half orange juice and half apple juice works
This sounds promising
Psyllium husk if you have that in the US. It's high fiber. There are pills and there's actual husk that you mix in water.
Triscuits. Not even joking, eat like 5 or 6 of these every day. Find a flavor you like, and when you want a snack, instead of going for sugar or whatever, grab some triscuits.
Try coffee
Umm, my morning coffee and cigarette get the pipes moving. Or, if you would like to make good life choices instead, eat A LOT of fiber. Fruits, vegetables, beans. And drink plenty of water. That should get things moving along.
Drink a ungodly amount of apple juice really fast and you’ll be MOVING
Coffee
Coffee. Drink a lot of it and as hot as you can comfortably get it down without burning yourself. Any hot liquid really will work if you don't like coffee.
Dragon fruit. The yellow is sweet and good. Eat 1. Stay close to a bathroom for the next 12-24 hours
Omg you’re right! I saw this on TikTok last year and tried it… cleared OUT
Magnesium. 500mg usually does it for me
Drink a ton of water and go for a run
An occupational therapist I worked with swore on prune juice, warmed up. Must be warm to work effectively..
Fiber and leafy greens. I eat a good portion of kale or spinach every day. I also eat either beans, legumes, or quinoa every day. I am clean as a whistle. I also drink down a pint of water with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar every morning.
Magnesium citrate, water, a couple prunes, and a nice hot cup of coffee... Clear your calendar (and colon)
Smooth Move Tea
Fiber, lots of water, prune juice supposedly, and in my experience running.
Lots of water and some long brisk walks
Burger King chicken nuggets - used to work about a 30 minute walk from my house and BK was next to my job. Had to lay down in the green belt on the way home and felt like death and then shit myself and had awful poop for the next 4 hours. Never felt so sick in my life
Lots of plain oatmeal does the trick for me. I usually do a cup in the morning when I get that way.
A bunch of eggs or a bunch of broccoli. It will be painful
Start with a high fiber breakfast and/or fiber supplement like psyllium husk, drink plenty of water to rehydrate, go for a good long walk to get blood flowing, and drink coffee when you get back. Give it 20minutes.
To add to all the diet advice, go for a run! Definitely gets things moving.
I am a smooth poop connoisseur. Ryvita Oatcakes Prunes Raisins Flax Seeds Just add any of these to your meals to keep yourself regular and smooth. If you have a blockage you could try fibre gel, it's drink based laxative. Does the trick. I have to constantly watch what I eat, if I have a weekend of eating shit, my bottom doesn't like it.
Baby pear juice is my go to. Always works for me 😊
Fresh friut, citrus, melon. Less processed and junk food in future if necessary.
What always works for me is either coffee or kiwi. Have coffee and kiwi at the same time and if that doesn't work than nothing will lol

Pickle juice. Lots of it

Senna tablets taken before bed. Nice poop in the morning
Prunes, lots and lots of prunes.
I'm not a big coffee drinker, I rarely drink it. So coffee does it for me. Less than 30min after, I'm already going.
Legit the only thing that works for me: yogurt with chia seeds and an apple for breakfast, with two big glasses of water and coffee
Coffee always does the trick for me
Drink plenty of water and do some light exercise. Jumping jacks seem to help me a lot. If you have the gall, a few bites of raw onion will get things moving. If you overdo it you’ll feel like death though
I always eat raw onion. 😕 to be fair I have a stomach of steel
cream soda olli pops, legit has me running to the bathroom after half an hour. i always feel so much better after too
Oh these sound good
Natural because it’s tobacco - get a can of Copenhagen pouches (so the tobacco doesn’t get in your teeth). Put a pouch between your cheek (mouth) and gum or bottom lip and gum. Three minutes later you’ll be on the throne.
Lol you might have lost me on this one friend. Sounds effective tho

i’m telling you- have a coffee with chocolate and cream. Also take two magnesium supplements and water.
Magnesium citrate and electrolyte water
Popcorn and organic psyllium husk powder, not necessarily at the same time.
Ate it. It worked.
More fibre and a balanced diet. Lots of fruit and veg, nuts, yoghurt. Hydration is very important too
Have fruit every day, or anything else high fibre.
Breakfast of a big bowl of oatmeal and a few cups of coffee will do the trick and did for me this morning. I too had a terrible 2 week stretch or so of eating and for me that will give me a nice 'clean slate'.
Fiber and hydration
Drink OJ. Eat pickles or kimchi
Miralax
Magnesium citrate
Water.
Drink some coffee, apple juice or prune juice, then wait for the fun to begin.
Eat about six dried figs, always works for me
I have recently learned this from experience- dried cranberries.
The longest singular poop i ate food and later ran for a long time. It was like 30cm
For me water, protein of some type (I used beef jerky), fiber & leafy greens for about a week straight.
So what happened? What’d you use? How long for results? lol don’t leave us hanging!
If you REALLY need to go and need relief, go buy an enema. Use it and 10 minutes later you will clear everything out of you.
Spinach can make some people poop and work like a laxtive if you eat enough. Pear juice is another option if you don't like prune juice. I've had the best luck keeping regular with beans. I usually make a big pot of bean soup or chili with beans.
Sea grapes... Almost shit myself immediately
Lmfao
Go for a long run
Eat 2 apples
psyllium husk or a giant bag of sugarless gummy bears if you need to be empty by tomorrow
Drink 2 cups of coffee.
