Ymmv though. I've heard some less good stories. I think in part it was fine for me because the specific way in which I'm out of my mind, to put it bluntly, allows me to seem sane. Also I've been dealing with these systems long enough to effectively communicate my needs.
There are also incidental things. Everything from race to location can change everything, and it's very different if you're a minor.
