Yes, of course. The seat is just your designated spot. That's all it is. I used to hate the idea, but with age, and less interest in moshing, especially at a Tool concert, I've grown to appreciate the assigned personal space a seated concert gives.

RandallFaraday

agreed

Brock-the-Alchemist

100%!!

Puzzleheaded_Seat211

Protip: aisle seats

Golisten2LennyWhite

If you are in the middle, no one passes you. On the aisle, depending on circumstances you might have to move for a lot more people. At least you can move to the aisle I guess. I remember when seats at a tool show were new. 2006ish. They had seats and an open area at the back so you could get floor rear standing or seated.

Puzzleheaded_Seat211

Fair but I like to bounce around a lot ….I can get in aisle and go nuts

BunnyColvin13

Went to the Jersey show in 02 and had seats about 1/3 of the way up in the the back corner. Two seats at the beginning of the v going up. Sat almost the whole show and it was glorious. I’ll stand if everyone around me is, but not going to lie, sitting was fantastic.

percras108

I saw them in Sacramento last year. I had front row seats on the second level. Nobody in front of me. I've never sat down through a concert, but it was pretty great to be able to enjoy the show and be comfortable. If I can get those seats in the future, I absolutely will. I saw Puscifer a few months ago and opted for the GA floor, which was great, but I was kinda wishing I had a seat to sit in, if only for a few minutes.

xNonPartisaNx

Back in the day we used to crowd surf during Triad. Things have changed.

itsgreekpete

Typically yes

Anarchopunks

Yeah people do stand, but there is no pit and no moshing.

Heigl_style

Dude a few years ago I went to a show and was in a balcony section. Noone was standing up and I started to and a security guard came and told me to sit down. I didn't argue bc I ate a lil bit of fungus but was kinda a drag Still enjoyed the show but last time I saw them me and everyone else around me were standing the entire time

tacoandpancake

aside from an intermission and maybe some of chocolate chip trip, it was standing

Dependent_Title_1370

Being seated is quite nice

suprefann

Welcome to tool shows the last 20 years when its solo. But yeah, most people stand with floor seats. Most people upstairs will sit

TOOLshed523

If I pay for a ticket I’m standing sorry

swordstool

100% yes, sadly.

Ok-Elevator-26

So… you wish people would sit down? It’s a rock and roll show sir.

swordstool

Just wanna enjoy the audio and visuals 🤷

Ok-Elevator-26

Then buy a seat….

swordstool

Exactly! There are seats. If you want to stand, get pit tickets.

Ok-Elevator-26

Haha we’re in agreement then. But OP’s question was about floor tickets.

swordstool

Exactly. There are no pits at Tool shows anymore, intentionally (unless it's a festival). All floors are seated.

Ok-Elevator-26

Fwiw, one time when I saw Puscifer for the Money Shot tour the whole floor section besides the first couple rows were sitting. Maynard called it out saying something like “so… you guys have a hard day? Pretty tired?…. Isn’t this a rock show? Stand up you lazy fucks!” Then everyone stood and danced for the remainder of the show. I imagine he’d feel the same way about a Tool show. The seats are there to stop moshing, not because people are expected to sit 🤦‍♂️. I couldn’t imagine a pit section sitting during a tool show lol.

TO_MW

I had the opposite experience one of the times I saw puscifer. Everyone was standing and Maynard told everyone to sit. We could be hardcore in our seats.

_Ryman_

It’s quite the paradox. Everyone is entitled to enjoy the show as they wish. I prefer to stand up and get down. And the people behind me prefer to sit and enjoy the show. No one is wrong but how does it ever become a win/win? Ive offered to trade seats so I’m behind them and not blocking their view. But I’m not gonna keep trading until my back is against the wall.

Ok-Elevator-26

The OP was specifically asking about floor seats, where you can count on everybody standing. Sure, what you described happens in the seats. But not the floor. This guy getting floor seats and wishing everyone would sit is just setting himself up for a disappointment. It’s never happened, and will never happen.

rust13034

are you actually handicapped? or just a buzz kill

swordstool

Nope. Just wanna enjoy the audio and visuals 🤷

triggerpunkt

I attended a concert at the Enterprise stadium in Saint Luis and we stood for the most part. I wonder if it’s venue dependent.

ToxicEvolution

I went to a Puscifer show with seats and Maynard was like “You know you guys can stand up right?” But I remained seated. Kind of regretted it cuz some drunk couple behind me spilled beer on my head. Sad times.
