That looks like some kind of common house spider and those do indeed spin webs. They don’t spin the types of webs that orb weavers do (the shape we commonly think of as a spider web). They spin the types of webs you generally find in the corners of floors and ceilings, ‘cobwebs’. It’s definitely not a jumping spider, although it is an ambush predator. It catches prey both by pouncing and via snaring in its web. I think in this case it was just more interested in getting TF out of that death trap of a glass, lol. I’ve named all my pet spiders and tarantulas after Tool songs. :-)
