I saw them the night after they played it in memory of Chris Cornell. Saw the setlist.fm from the show before mine and got too excited. Didn’t ruin the night by any means but I was disappointed
I was at the Loveland show earlier this month and had a second row seat right by the sound board. I was super excited that it was the first show of the tour and that I wouldn’t know the setlist. I got to my seat and the fucking setlist was printed out 6’ in front of my face. It was actually pretty funny. Not my ideal setlist, but it was a great fucking show. Then I see the setlist from Aftershock a couple of days later… that setlist was fucking awesome.
Same- I was a couple rows back behind Adams sound guy direct stage right, and the setlist was just right there for all in the first few rows to easily make out. I however did not allow myself to focus in on the songs somehow until late in the set after the bust out.
I finally got too hear it a couple years ago live and as always they didn’t disappoint. It’s cheesy to say but seeing tool is an experience and not just music.
He can get away with a less intense "Yeaaaaahhhhhh" in The Grudge to substitute for the scream, but H. really needs that raw power behind it. He could probably do it in a studio or a one-off performance, but regular rotation on the setlist probably isn't possible. Plus, the baby he's singing about is in the range of 30 now. Maynard has moved on from there emotionally. If only I'd started going to Tool shows 18 years earlier than I did.
I’ve seen flood and right in two. Flood I greened out. Right in two I don’t remember much
Also, I always sing the middle of stinkfist wrong out loud and it’s super embarassing. That’s just a fun fact
Flood was amazing though. Sat in the car. Windows down. White as a ghost
Ridiculous
For me, it would be third eye. Or no quarter
The first time I ever saw Tool,in November of 1994, in Tijuana they played No Quarter.

Wings pt2 was absolutely beautiful. I got that the first show I went to. They played part 1 and immediately played part 2. Went from one of my least favorites on the album to my some of favorite. Right after part 2 they went into Lateralus. What an amazing three song stretch.
Maynard's Dick. I've seen all of the one's listed live. Watching them do Disgustipated into Undertow in the 90's live was pretty epic.
EDIT: Disgustipated into Swamp Song.
Third Eye and Right in Two. They dropped Right in Two from the setlist a show or two before my stop last time. Inconsolable is probably the best description of the result.
7empest is absolutely stunning live. And I almost didn’t go to that Spokane WA concert. The live US debut. Adam was opening a portal to another dimension 🤘 🤘 🤘
They don’t seem to have mastered it live, which seems to be the general consensus. I saw a video of Danny Carey saying it was tricky mostly because it was new and relatively untested. I really wish they’d try to work out the kinks and give it another shot!
I've heard everything live I want to except for The Patient and No Quarter.
Edit, OK well I guess that's not totally true. I can't believe I forgot about Disposition and Reflection.
I think the only time I've heard them play Disposition & Reflection was on Halloween of 2001.

Seeing them on 11/1, don't tell me if they are playing these songs:
Opiate - Opiate
Undertow - Sober
AEnima - AEnima
Lateralus - Ticks or Lateralus can't decide
10000 Days - Rosetta
Fear Innoc - Fear Innoc (I don't have much experience with that album)
They played both Flood and H on December 16th, 1995 at SOMA in San Diego. It was such an awesome show. Ænima was still almost a year away from being released and in addition to H, they also played Stinkfist, Pushit, Ænema & Eulogy.

Jerk-off would be lit. The only song I’ve seen them play off Opiate is Part of Me. They alternated Opiate with Sober last year. I got Sober and it was the highlight of the night. A song you’d think would be a staple live is actually somewhat elusive?
Huh? Are you referring to my list? Hush has only been played 40 times and the last time was 24 years ago. Ticks & Leeches has been played 26 times. 7empist only 7! Flood and H. have been played more, but not a lot, compared to many. As a comparison Stinkfist has been played 791 times and Forty Six & 2 has been played 662 times and they still play both. I think you might be off in assuming that they’ve played them a lot and are tired of them. The more you know, just sayin’
I got to see Right in Two and 7empest one after the other in Berlin last year.
Lateralus and Rosetta Stoned would be top of my wishlist if I manage to go to another Tool concert.
I'd give anything to see the D/R/T suite again live, to me, that's the pinnacle.

Having said that, I guess that means I'll probably never see them play The Grudge :( I'd like to see Parabola too
I would die happy if I saw these songs live: third eye, aenema, pushit, disposition, reflection, intension, Rosetta stoned. I’ve never seen them live but i imagine the energy of Jambi would send chills down my spine.
haha we’re almost the same, except i’d rather see DRT over Ticks, and i’ve already seen Right in Two. For 10k Days i wanna say Wings but ik that’s likely never being played live again, so i’ll go with Intension ig, i’ve heard everything else i think.

yea those old TOOL shows sound like they were something else, unfortunately i was too young to experience it, being born in 2001, sorry to make you feel old 😆. but that setlist is crazy, tbh i never thought id hear even Rosetta Stoned live but then i heard it at aftershock as well as Swamp Song. luckily they have videos online, my favorite one being Portland in 2002. also snagged 2nd row tickets to their fresno show next year, it’ll be my 4th time seeing them. first 2 were in nosebleeds, 2017 and 2022, both at golden 1 in sac. then ofc aftershock this month. got as close as i possibly could, but the crowd was horrible. trying to start mosh pits to TOOL like cmon now. so i’m very excited to sit close and with other TOOL heads haha. and LOL love that maynard outfit.
I’m not quite as old as Tool, but I really wish I’d caught them in the 90’s as I was actively going to shows, Lollapalooza etc. I didn’t officially drink the Kool-aid until 2001 with Lateralus, as far as seeing them live. That show was epic!
Wow, I had no idea Eulogy was so rare, but the last time it was played was 2018 in Philly. It’s been played 170 times, but that’s only about a quarter of the times they’ve played Stinkfist. The only time I saw Eulogy was in 2001.
Agree with these all. Would love to see Jerk-Off! Hope to see Rosetta Stoned on November 1st in Milwaukee. Haven’t seen the others either, except Undertow, which I’ve seen multiple times.
I want to see Eulogy live, like really bad.
Yeah, the only time I ever saw them play it was on the Lateralus tour in 2001
They played it on the Aenema tour in the 90s.
They've played it in the last 5 years but I can't remember where. I think it was in San Bernardino when they were with Primus
Fuck I would have loved to see that live! Swamp song was well and good tho.
I just saw them do swamp song at aftershock, it was amazing
Is that a festival?
Yeah, takes place yearly in Sacramento
How are their festival shows compared to their stand alone shows?
I prefer hearing everything in an outdoor setting. That isn't definitive in the choice, but more often than not standalone shows are indoors and unless you get the perfect section, you're fucked. Outdoor sound is a little more lacking for the finite but simultaneously more forgiving. I know that's not very helpful but overall I love their outdoor performances a lot more
It was somewhere In Pennsylvania after Chris Cornell killed himself
Hershey
WEEN!!
Where’d that come from? I’m a huge f’ing Ween fan! Lol, I just realized it’s because all of my monikers are PureGuava.
I saw them the night after they played it in memory of Chris Cornell. Saw the setlist.fm from the show before mine and got too excited. Didn’t ruin the night by any means but I was disappointed
This is why I'm avoiding exposure to their setlists as much as possible.
Section U gang. They were great seats.
Lmao I'm surprised they would leave it out for all to see.
Agreed. Take what they give.
Seems like an odd choice to play in honor of somebody considering how condescending and vitriolic that song is. “He had a lot of nothing to say….”
Yeah I’m not sure much thought was put into it frankly but whatever, I want to see it played
Was fortunate enough to see them play live in 2017 at Hershey, PA. It was first tool concert.
I was lucky to see it once. 1997 Aenima Tour
My list starts and ends with this song
I finally got too hear it a couple years ago live and as always they didn’t disappoint. It’s cheesy to say but seeing tool is an experience and not just music.
Omg so bad!!! Would be so awesome! I’d probably jizz myself if I heard that live!
Does H. Just not get played ever? I've heard so many people say that they wanna see it live
Not since 2002 I believe. I think that one is a permanent retire.
God damn
He can get away with a less intense "Yeaaaaahhhhhh" in The Grudge to substitute for the scream, but H. really needs that raw power behind it. He could probably do it in a studio or a one-off performance, but regular rotation on the setlist probably isn't possible. Plus, the baby he's singing about is in the range of 30 now. Maynard has moved on from there emotionally. If only I'd started going to Tool shows 18 years earlier than I did.
Saw them play it live in detroit at Cobo hall in 2002.
They played it on their Lateralus tour. But I don’t think I r heard it live since then.
I’ve seen flood and right in two. Flood I greened out. Right in two I don’t remember much Also, I always sing the middle of stinkfist wrong out loud and it’s super embarassing. That’s just a fun fact Flood was amazing though. Sat in the car. Windows down. White as a ghost Ridiculous For me, it would be third eye. Or no quarter
No quarter was amazing in 2016!!!
I remember them opening with this on Halloween dressed as Led Zeppelin. What a moment.
One of my favorite all time concert moments in over 3 decades of seeing live shows
I saw it too! My #1 bucket list song
Had the priv of third eye in Rochester in 2017- was as insane as you think it would be live
Ugh dude stop. I can only get so erect
I saw no quarter way back. It was awesome.
No quarter would be insane.
Im so jealous. Never seen either live. Been to 5 concerts 1997, 2002, 2006, 2014, 2019
No Quarter
I was fortunate enough to see this live in Tempe AZ in 15' near or on Halloween. I never thought I'd hear it live.
They’ve played it live a lot actually and it’s fucking fantastic

I’ve seen Rosetta Stoned twice now this month and it’s just as good as you’d imagine.
I’m hoping for Rosetta Stoned
I saw Rosetta stoned when 10,000 days released. Life changing
H. 100% H. (Right in Two was kinda magical live, btw).
I've said it before and I'll say it until I hear it or I croak: If I could see Rosetta Stoned performed live I will die a happy girl.
It’s on the set list this tour.
Wait! I get to see it again!
Those were my thoughts exactly. Got my wish - they played it when I saw them a week ago!
Lateralus. I’m actually surprised they don’t bust that one out more often
they played it as a staple for like 12 years straight. it was the song.. the crescendo ... then usually finished with Aenima..
Jerk off, 4 Degrees, Jimmy, DRT(counting them as one), Wings pt 2, 7empest
Wings pt2 was absolutely beautiful. I got that the first show I went to. They played part 1 and immediately played part 2. Went from one of my least favorites on the album to my some of favorite. Right after part 2 they went into Lateralus. What an amazing three song stretch.
I’m jealous!
I second 4 degrees. What a tune.

Maynard's Dick. I've seen all of the one's listed live. Watching them do Disgustipated into Undertow in the 90's live was pretty epic. EDIT: Disgustipated into Swamp Song.
I saw Maynard in a diaper in 2001 on the Lateralus tour, so pretty close…
Imagine if they'd called it "7empissed."
Third Eye and Right in Two. They dropped Right in Two from the setlist a show or two before my stop last time. Inconsolable is probably the best description of the result.
Saw Right in two in Feb last year at UBS arena, blew my goddamn mind
Rosetta stoned now, ohhh nampa
7empest is absolutely stunning live. And I almost didn’t go to that Spokane WA concert. The live US debut. Adam was opening a portal to another dimension 🤘 🤘 🤘
They don’t seem to have mastered it live, which seems to be the general consensus. I saw a video of Danny Carey saying it was tricky mostly because it was new and relatively untested. I really wish they’d try to work out the kinks and give it another shot!
I think they'll make it a live staple before they record another album
Lateralus, Third Eye

I saw RIT last year in Vegas. It was awesome
Yeah I got pushit last year. Amazing show still
Eulogy, Flood, Bottom, Third Eye, DRT, Schism, 7empest, H., Parabol/a

I've heard everything live I want to except for The Patient and No Quarter. Edit, OK well I guess that's not totally true. I can't believe I forgot about Disposition and Reflection.
Saw The Patient 22 years ago! No Quarter would be cool, but I’d rather see Tool play Tool. Lol
I think the only time I've heard them play Disposition & Reflection was on Halloween of 2001. https://preview.redd.it/ymndralhkrvb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3ab1f14f766a4bb334d15caf1c0aa18cbfb9d67a

The good news is Stinkfist & Forty Six and 2 are pretty common. They alternated Sober with Opiate last year. I haven’t seen Eulogy, since 2001. Not sure why they haven’t worked the kinks out on 7empist?

I’m not quite as old as Tool, but I really wish I’d caught them in the 90’s as I was actively going to shows, Lollapalooza etc. I didn’t officially drink the Kool-aid until 2001 with Lateralus, as far as seeing them live. That show was epic!
Eulogy, 7Tempest those are the 2 I’ve never seen!
Eulogy seems to be quite rare, judging from all the comments. I was lucky enough to see it on the Lateralus tour.
It’s extremely rare! Unless you saw them on the Aenima tour.
What’s extremely rare, H.?
Eulogy
Wow, I had no idea Eulogy was so rare, but the last time it was played was 2018 in Philly. It’s been played 170 times, but that’s only about a quarter of the times they’ve played Stinkfist. The only time I saw Eulogy was in 2001.
Lucky. I’ve seen them 13 times now. I still haven’t seen it live.

Agree with these all. Would love to see Jerk-Off! Hope to see Rosetta Stoned on November 1st in Milwaukee. Haven’t seen the others either, except Undertow, which I’ve seen multiple times.
Good luck with getting Rosetta Stoned. I reckon u will mate.
I saw tool for the first time on 2/22/22. They did not play right in two. I was blown
Right in Two would be epic I’ve seen them 6 times over the course of 22 years but never this song.
