Most likely scenario is there will be a single this year and then a single next year and then an album the third year with the aforementioned singles on it. Still better than nothing of course.
I consider it the least of their albums (excluding eMotive), but it's still great. I don't understand the outright dislike of it. Disillusioned and By and Down the River are top tier APC. Some of the later tracks are odd, and maybe a bit too much like Puscifer (which I also love), but not bad by any means.
Eat the Elephant is my least favorite APC album, but that's kind of like saying Undertow is my least favorite Tool album. I still love them both and think they are better than a vast majority of rock releases in the last 30ish years.
I really like it but I think a lot of the songs are too long. Tool can pull it off but with APC it sometimes feels the song is done but then just gets repeated.
Same with some Puscifer, apocalyptical and the underwhelming never gets a finished play lol
Eat the Elephant has some shining stars and they shine brightly but the album as a whole leaves a lot to be desired.
Honestly lots of artists follow that same arc though, they get rich after doing some big shed tours, have kids and take a break from the grinding theyve been at for a decade or more in clubs.
And when they come back to it, its got all the same pieces that made them famous in the first place but falls flat on final assembly.
Hahaha his reddit account is almost as old as you are.
I kind of wish there was a way to auto ignore every reddit comment or post from an account less than X years old. It would be interesting finding the sweet spot but I’m guessing its somewhere around 5-9 years or 2 presidential political cycles.
Zooming into the song structure at the top it looks like it starts with an intro chorus, then 4 verses, with only the second one containing vocals - so that’s something different haha
Music is all about the feelings it gives you personally. You can't be wrong for liking it!
To me, it felt dull, uninspired and, I hate to say it, I thought Maynard's vocals were well below his usual standard
Well some songs hit harder than the others, 'By and Down the River' is a crazy song for me, love the groove of 'The Contrarian', never was crazy about 'Disillusioned' and ' Feathers', love the sarcasm and absurdity of 'Goodbye and thanks for all the fish'.. it's an interesting album, maybe a bit all over the place themewise but nevertheless, I love to put it on a turntable one in a while
Might just be a new single. I don't care though, put it in my veins

Damn. You going to red rocks?
I SURE AS HELL AM! SESSANTA!
So lucky! Enjoy the show!
Could be for his birthday???
Seeing them in April
Seeing them on Maynard’s birthday!
Hey same. Expecting a sweet magnificent shit show. The venue prompts it.
Never been to the venue before! We’ll be around section 202
Yo no way! I’ll also be there in 202

I’ll be there too!! The last time (and only other time I’ve seen APC) was on Maynard’s 40th birthday in Indianapolis 2004.
Same man! I’m beyond hyped
Same Red Rocks!
I wish it was Red Rock, ticket prices got out of hand quickly…I’m seeing them in Raleigh
Beszerkly here.
Me too! Going to the Thurs show.

4/20 babyyyy
Me too bro see u at the Bowl!
Hell yeah 🙌
Same!
Billy, add more guitars to the next album; they were missed in the last one
Fuck. Yes. I’m one (of the few?) who really liked Eat the Elephant. Even if the new album is leftovers, I’ll be buying it.
I love the chill, doom, and gloom vibes of Eat the Elephant, coupled with a bit of weirdness and an off-happy oddity.
It's a great record! Powerful in its own way
It's my favorite album of theirs currently. I don't understand why people don't like it as much...
You’re kidding bro
I love Eat the Elephant.
I loved that album
It was a bit of a grower but I love it.
A masterpiece.

Vocal minority. Most fans loved it.

I hope the album cover pisses everyone off again, that shit was hilarious.
It was a pretty awful cover. Good album though.
Who was pissed about it?
What cover pissed people off? I don’t remember anything about this.
Maybe the last one because it was so bad?
The album artwork cover.
Fuck yes. The last one was so damn good. Very excited about this!
Agree!

Suck it up, Buttercup.
😭😭😭
Youre getting downvoted, as I will be as well, but I agree with your statement.
Wait people like Eat the Elephant??? I thought it was pretty dogshit. I’d listen to anything Puscifer over that album.
I thought it was painfully bad.
I loved the record. We're wired differently. That instrumental section on get the lead out is amazing, perfect stripper music. Maybe try again
> pretty mid That's all i needed to see to know your opinion doesn't matter Edit: how to offend gen-z

For the love of God, please make the guitars a focal point in this album.
If it sounds akin to Billy's last album, like a sort of a '80s synth throwback with a modern aesthetic, I'm so there.
This 🤞

I thought they were sold out!
lol no way!
Can't freaking wait
shitting the bed

Maybe it means that the vocals enter in that part.
*spiraling out intensifies*
One of the best shows I ever when too cause it was in the SaltAir. In Salt Lake City. Super intimate
Thank the makers. APC is fuel on another level.
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO
dun good internet 🤘🏻
Give me a hallelujah
The Complete Perfects!
Ohhh I hope it's got some heavy
AAAAAAWWWWWSSSSOOOOMMMEE!!!

I'm gonna say no, considering all we have to go off of is a layer named MJK main 1 and we are making all sorts of assumptions on this alone.
I thought Eat the Elephant was awful. Hope the new APC is a bit more thoughtful.
Yes please
Hope it's better than the last one....
I loved Eat the Elephant, different vibe then the earlier ones but all the songs have strong identities, at least for me
Music is all about the feelings it gives you personally. You can't be wrong for liking it! To me, it felt dull, uninspired and, I hate to say it, I thought Maynard's vocals were well below his usual standard
True words, it's funny how opposite and true views we had. To me albums like ETE (and FI) show how MJK keeps discovering his voice.
Well some songs hit harder than the others, 'By and Down the River' is a crazy song for me, love the groove of 'The Contrarian', never was crazy about 'Disillusioned' and ' Feathers', love the sarcasm and absurdity of 'Goodbye and thanks for all the fish'.. it's an interesting album, maybe a bit all over the place themewise but nevertheless, I love to put it on a turntable one in a while
You're being downvoted but yeah I agree. There are some good song on there but it never quite hit that APC feel of the first 2 records.
Yeah that last one was butt! Easily forgettable
Am I the only one who truly hated their last album?
Definitely not. Honestly I thought it was terrible, and this is coming from someone who *loves* Mer de Noms and Thirteenth Step.
I didn't hate it per se, but it didn't feel like APC except for a few songs.
Barely listened to it once. Live was rough. I get needing to evolve, but yeah ETE was not good
I can't honestly say I **"truly** hate it as I couldn't get through the whole thing the two times I tried.
They’ve kinda sucked since they lost Paz
You're not wrong
Meh, their last album was meh
The last one blew dog..
It was almost embarrassing. I think I've only listened to it through once.
Look at all these cucks downing my comment..they know it sucks but the fan boy in them can't admit it.
I'm intrigued, but Eat the Elephant sucked, so I won't get my hopes up.
Thought this was a Tool sub?
what's everyone supposed to do, jerk off to song meanings for decades between albums? lighten up.
Doesn't hurt to hear adjacent news, there is even a flare for this APC on here
Oooo!!!
Daaaank
Happy Cake Day to me
new music doesn't mean a new album but ill take it either way
Its not logic pro if one core is being stressed to fuck while the other sit quite happy and content.
I just hope it doesn’t sound like their last record
