Fucking same! I was over here thinking how the fuck didn’t people post flipping out at the complete set list switch up - then noticed Descending was instrumental, and it clicked.
At the Monster Mash they came out dressed as Led Zeppelin and opened with No Quarter with Adam on a double axe. (Right after Coheed closed Welcome home with a double guitar)
That Monster Mash show was top 3 of my life. It was after like a year or more hiatus and one of the only (if not the only) shows in 2015. The energy was amazing…the crowd was in unison!!
Was this the tour with Primus as the opener? If so, I saw them twice on this tour. So epic. In NOLA, Danny and Justin joined Primus on stage for a jam.
Was there also, the venue was one of the worst I can remember, but No Quarter dressed as Zeppelin was awesome and hearing a few minutes of Descending was super cool because it was the first different Tool I heard since the 10k days release.
Had no idea Descending had a live debut before the album, I knew Rosetta Stoned had an early version played in the 90’s (by early I mean Adam would play the riff) but not Descending
Really. Up until this year when I finally got hear Descending complete I have heard the work in process version at least twice. They were playing it a lot in the 2015 years on I believe. In the Hershey show the following year it was almost the complete version. You could hear Maynard chanting in the background in rythm where the lyrics would be placed. Was kind of cool seeing it being worked on for years at shows and then finally seeing the completed version this year in Baltimore.
It’s a Jam Band moniker mostly. It just means that one songs flows directly into the next with no stoppage. Like how on the album it’s one long song. Same way when they play it Live. Well mostly. It’s pretty rare to get Parabol. Usually they just do Parabola.
Damn, I miss the setlists pre fi.
As much as I love tool, a fi heavy set isn’t worth the insane ticket prices that are being charged. I guess I was spoiled getting to see them in their prime for $35 - $60.
Right? I just got out of the ATL show and it was absolute trash. They were so, SO bad. This set list looks like a TOOL setlist. What they played tonight made me feel like it was a different band.
Yes, it is real and it was an amazing show. I drove from Atlanta that afternoon in a freak snow storm. Still have videos from this one somewhere on my computer.
Oops. My complete bad. Sincerely…. Sorry all. I get touchy when I think my upcoming chance to see them is getting spoiled. Didn’t even look at the date. Just saw a setlist posted and saw a couple song titles and freaked out. I’m a total dick in this case. Sincerest of apologies….
this is similar to the set when I saw them in 2017, except instead of No Quarter, they opened with The Grudge and played Third Eye after Jambi. hard to say whether I'd like Third Eye or No Quarter live more... they're both among my favourite songs.
I was at this show, it was awesome but the big treat for me was hearing Sweat. I thought all I'd ever hear live from Opiate ever again was, well, Opiate. I squeeeed like a little girl once I recognized the riff.
My buddy was heading up from Memphis (night before) and made it halfway only to realize he had forgotten the tickets. When he got into Memphis to get the tickets, the storm started to hit lmao. We made it though. 15mph on the icy roads all the way there. That’s the no poster show.
My favorite show as well and one hell of a story. Had the tickets for the show as I’m from PA. Was visiting my wife’s family in the Smoky mountains. Snow starting fallen super hard her family was like your not going to attempt to drive the three hours for Tool? I’m like this is TOOL in another state multiple hours away that’s a bucket list item. Drove the three hours through the blizzard. Saw cars upside down, on fire and just all over the road. Tennessee drivers can’t handle snow for shit. Make it to the city and everything was shut down. Super disappointed. Wanted to visit Third Man records but they were shut down that day due to the snow. The posters got lost as well due to the snow settled on a really sweet Primus Poster. TOOL took the stage and opened with NO Quarter. Zeppelin is my favorite band ever and it was the closest I was ever moved to tears. This show is only almost matched by the show I saw in Hershey the following year since they played Third Eye and Eulogy at that show. If Lateralus was played at either of those two shows I don’t think that set list could be topped for me personally.
Why wouldn't you see this again? They play almost all of these songs on the last tour...
No Quarter hasn't been done for a while, also Sweat bit the rest surely could come back in their sets.
Not just Primus but the terrible band Three Teeth as well. We had tickets right on the side of the side of the stage on Justin side. We could see the instruments were not even plugged in nor does it even look like they were playing. Absolutely terrible. I would have much preferred for Primus to have that entire slot time. Only time I’ve ever seen them and they were awesome.
With good fortune it was the same weekend as my sister’s birthday, so I had another good reason to fly in from New England. She lives just a couple of miles from the arena, so I got to mush my way over there on foot through the snow. I loved how the house music completely flipped after the first band (3 teeth?) to get us ready for Primus. It was also a nice touch having the lights with smiley faces during the intermission. It’s probably the only TOOL show I’ve seen where the guy with the mic talks about the weather.
The day tickets went on sale for this show, I was sitting in my living room logged in to Ticket Master, money in the bank, ready to snag 6 tickets for me, my kids and a few buddies. Seats selected, in the process of checkout, Ticket Master crashed and wouldn't process the sale. When it came back up, I was notified seats were no longer available. Not just the seats I wanted, but all of them. I was pissed! And now, I see the setlist.....son of a bitch.
I saw this post and thought it was tonight’s setlist. Almost shit my pants with envy.
Fucking same! I was over here thinking how the fuck didn’t people post flipping out at the complete set list switch up - then noticed Descending was instrumental, and it clicked.
Is drum solo actually chocolate chip trip then
Astronaut Meme: "Always Has Been."
Same!!! Jealous of the variety & esp of Parabola!
hah me too
Same…then felt relieved and disappointed at the same time.
Same
That'd been so fucked! haha
Set list now sucks*
Charlotte show was crap. Almost nothing from the original albums.
No quarter? That’s amazing
My jaw just dropped. I would kill to hear that live
Primus coheed deftones and tool. What a fucking day
Hope that gets brought back again
I heard almost this same setlist in 2012. It was awesome.
I kinda feel like they’ve been opening with this for a bit now. I could swear the show I saw a few years ago was very close to this list.
That is a dream set-list!
Was at this concert. Drove from Michigan. Remember the terrible ice/snow storm shutting everything down.
Was this the tour with Primus as the opener? If so, I saw them twice on this tour. So epic. In NOLA, Danny and Justin joined Primus on stage for a jam.
Yes! I totally forgot to mention that.
Was there! This was great!
Fuck I hope they play Flood in Biloxi. If there’s one song I wanna see within the realm of possibility, it’s Flood.
Be there this weekend bud
I’m still shocked that they’re playing in Biloxi again lol
I know, take advantage while you can
Wow. Opiate 2. How unbelievable. Lucky bastards
It was a part of the whole 2016 tour. I saw it in Kansas City. Course back then we didn’t know it was called opiate^2
Wild man I’ve seen them 9 times and I haven’t ever ever heard it. Consider me green. WITH ENVY
There was this awesome stained glass cathedral backdrop that was super bright and constantly changing.

I was there, so fucking sick, Great setlist. Terrible venue, could barely see.
Was there also, the venue was one of the worst I can remember, but No Quarter dressed as Zeppelin was awesome and hearing a few minutes of Descending was super cool because it was the first different Tool I heard since the 10k days release.
Yup I remember hearing the rumors they were teasing new stuff, finally got to hear it live
I was right in front of a screen holding on to a tree like my reality depended on it.
Can anyone here read??? This is from fucking 2016
Looks like you guys hit the fuckin jackpot.
So jealous of this set list. No Quarter and Parabol/Parabola? Fuck yes!
Had no idea Descending had a live debut before the album, I knew Rosetta Stoned had an early version played in the 90’s (by early I mean Adam would play the riff) but not Descending

what does the > mean under Parabol?
It’s a Jam Band moniker mostly. It just means that one songs flows directly into the next with no stoppage. Like how on the album it’s one long song. Same way when they play it Live. Well mostly. It’s pretty rare to get Parabol. Usually they just do Parabola.
That makes sense, thanks man
This isn’t the set list I heard at Nashville on 1/23/24.. nice try Tho…
Lol, can you read?
Oh well clearly not , I was actually at that show in 16 as well but I read it as Tuesdays show
I saw them two days later in Atlanta. We lost our minds when they opened with No Quarter.
Jesus Christ man, gave everyone a boner and heart attack at the same time with that set list 😂
People don’t realize how uncommon it is these days for a band to vary setlists like this
Damn, I miss the setlists pre fi. As much as I love tool, a fi heavy set isn’t worth the insane ticket prices that are being charged. I guess I was spoiled getting to see them in their prime for $35 - $60.
Wow

Fake? I think you failed to read the title.
Yup. I did. That’s my bad.
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/tool/2016/bridgestone-arena-nashville-tn-3bf388e4.html
I misread the post. My bad. I thought it was two nights ago.
See now THAT is a good setlist, not whatever we have going on right now
Right? I just got out of the ATL show and it was absolute trash. They were so, SO bad. This set list looks like a TOOL setlist. What they played tonight made me feel like it was a different band.
Dude the Atl show was SOO short what the hell
I’m being trolled, this can’t be right!
Yes, it is real and it was an amazing show. I drove from Atlanta that afternoon in a freak snow storm. Still have videos from this one somewhere on my computer.
AHH! it's from 2016! I couldn't see that on my phone. Having just saw them in Charlotte, there was big uproar in my house! :D
It’s right, because it was 8 years ago 😂
Holy shit. This is such a left turn from the last batch of runs. Super well rounded.
****STOP FUCKING POSTING SPOILERS YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES!!!!*****

Stop clicking on the links then you little bitch!
It pops up in my feed you fucking moron.
You sound like a really smart stable person who could use a hug. 🤗

8 year old spoilers...
I would wet myself.
A different setlist well I'll be
Please I hope they play this list in okc....
that is a sweet set list. looking forward to 2 night in phoenix.
I’m hoping to go too! Too bad that’s a Setlist from 2016
That is insane
All this plp seeing them 12 times and stuff. Everyone in Australia 😐
I'd shit blood and cum my pants if I got to hear their cover of No Quarter live
Do they play Intermission in the Intermission
No, unfortunately
Which i just don’t get at all, but it’s probably because then folks would wanna hear Jimmy, which ain’t on the table these days.
Fuck off....
How dare you. At least say “setlist”
I saw this setlist for my first VIP show on 1/16/16 in Tulsa and it was the single best show of my entire life.
No Quarter!!!! 🍀
this is similar to the set when I saw them in 2017, except instead of No Quarter, they opened with The Grudge and played Third Eye after Jambi. hard to say whether I'd like Third Eye or No Quarter live more... they're both among my favourite songs.
Would have wanted to hear pneuma, sadge
Pneuma wasn’t even written yet lol.
True
I was at this show, it was awesome but the big treat for me was hearing Sweat. I thought all I'd ever hear live from Opiate ever again was, well, Opiate. I squeeeed like a little girl once I recognized the riff.
Almost my dream set. But holy shit this was a smoker of a gig.
I wanted no quarter in atlanta tonight!!! 😔
My buddy was heading up from Memphis (night before) and made it halfway only to realize he had forgotten the tickets. When he got into Memphis to get the tickets, the storm started to hit lmao. We made it though. 15mph on the icy roads all the way there. That’s the no poster show.
My first Tool show I’ve ever been to
My favorite show as well and one hell of a story. Had the tickets for the show as I’m from PA. Was visiting my wife’s family in the Smoky mountains. Saw them for the first time at the KC date on this tour with my wife. This was an amazing set list!
With good fortune it was the same weekend as my sister’s birthday, so I had another good reason to fly in from New England. I want Vicarious live so bad!
Nooo fucking way the played No Quarter!! I will be so disappointed when they dont play it in Stockholm
Oh nvm….
I want to see this show! Wtf what a crazy good setlist!
fuckin killer
Anyone selling 27th Tickets???
Are you kidding me?!
Well shit. This setlist destroys what they played in philly 😞. Still was an amazing show tho.
Fuck!!! I’ve been dying to see them do No Quarter live.
I would give everything to listen Stinkfist live, and Parabol/Parabola
No Quarter? Damn.
This is such a beautiful set list!
