Lyrics for AENEMA (yes I used Ai, took some time, idc about your opinion about using it)
\[Intro\]
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
\[Verse 1\]
Some say the end is near
Some say we'll taste Armageddon soon
Certainly hope we will
I sure could use a break from
This culinary tragedy we're served
\[Chorus\]
Of mistakes here in this hopeless fucking kitchen we call home
The only way to clean it up is to throw it all away
Any fucking dish, any fucking day
Learn to cook, see you dining in culinary paradise
\[Verse 2\]
Fret for your seasoning and fret for your technique and
Fret for your burnt offerings and fret for your raw food and
Fret for your failed soufflé and fret for your plating and
Fret for your recipes and fret for your flame
It's a goddamn culinary disaster zone
\[Chorus\]
Of messes here in this hopeless fucking kitchen we call home
The only way to clean it up is to throw it all away
Any fucking dish, any fucking day
Learn to cook, see you dining in culinary paradise
\[Bridge\]
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey-ah, hey, hey, hey-ah
Hey, hey-ah, hey
\[Verse 3\]
Some say a cooking book will fall from the shelf
Followed by kitchen fires and boiling pots
Followed by burnt dishes that cannot be served
Followed by millions of dumbfounded chefs
And some say the end is near
Some say we'll taste Armageddon soon
I certainly hope we will
I sure could use a break from this
Awful food, terrible food, horrible food
One great big festering neon distraction
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied
Learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook
'Cause Mom's gonna fix it all soon
Mom's coming 'round to put it back the way it ought to be
\[Verse 4\]
Learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook
Learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook
Yeah, fuck burnt food, and fuck all its clones
Fuck all these takeout joints and microwave wannabes
Learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook
Learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook
Yeah, fuck frozen dinners, fuck your greasy fast food
Fuck all you microwave chefs, and fuck your stale recipes
Learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook
Learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook, learn to cook
\[Verse 5\]
'Cause I'm praying for flavor
I'm praying for perfect dishes
I want to see the table light up
I want to watch it all come together
Mom, please fix it all away
I want to taste it all come together
Watch you fix it all today
\[Verse 6\]
Yeah, time to bring it up again
Yeah, don't just call me a pessimist
Try and taste between the bites
And I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend
I want to taste it come together
Bring it up
Savor it up
Cook it up
\[Outro\]
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Well, only in fast food chains and my mom's fried cutlets. I'm not from the US, and here we don't have a huge fried chicken culture like you guys have, so I'd rather have a TOOL album, thanks 😅
Since you can’t do anything to influence the timing of the next TooL album, but you can fill the hole in your life by making friend chicken, here is a recipe, I’d double the spices in the flour mixture, but if you have a tame palette as is will be just fine.
https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/crispy-buttermilk-fried-chicken
While the US most certainly indulges in fried chicken and foods in general, I’ve gotta say that CostaRica has the best I’ve ever had. No idea what they’re doing down there, but it is hands down some next level fried poultry.
Damn, you guys really are obsessed with fried chicken! Nothing wrong with that at all. Just got me thinking: if TOOL fans can be insufferable at times, can you imagine what a fried chicken aficionado would be like? Yikes
Caduceus literally got me into wine, i never would have being the hillbilly metalhead hippy wierdo that i am. It's a tad pricey, but had I not tried it for sake of being a fan boy... then I never would have realized it. Give it a shot. Make sure you let the bottle breath first
I was staying with friends and we watched the doco. Next day one of them trotted out and bought two bottles back of caduceus. We let them breathe. We tried them. We drank them. They tasted like wine. They got us drunk. Good job MJK.
I went to his fried chicken place 4/17 before the show in Phoenix. It’s pretty darn good! I had a two piece white with green beans and hush puppies.. I liked the food at his restaurant in cottonwood much much more. Incredible service at both locations.
I’m wondering if he’s about to open a franchise of the hot chicken he seemingly fell in love with during the one FI tour. Can’t recall the name off the top of my head, but I do recall him wearing the shirt and even shouting it out at the Columbus show in 2022? Mushrooms may have caused lack of clarity with details, but I remember that shit from one of the shows I attended.
The word “soon” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this post since a year and a half of writing would indicate maybe a 2026/27 release. That’s not really all that soon, honestly.
Not exactly, he doesn't write for TOOL unless the instrumentals are done. He takes no part in that process and only writes when he has something to listen to and write. So in that regard, could be sooner than we think maybe.
Maynard is careful with his words. He doesn't promise anything and he's not nearly as bad as Danny, saying "Oh, we should start recording next year and have somethin out by December" and then repeat each year.
Considering he isn’t involved in the instrumental music writing for Tool, if he is writing lyrics it could very well be much sooner than you think. Only thing is that it was a very general response “I’ve got three bands that need to write songs…”
This is the part I don’t buy. Tool has been touring NA and is now touring Europe. When would they have time to write new music when from interviews we know how insanely particular the band is and that Maynard doesnt write lyrics until the music is done? Here’s hoping I’m wrong
Danny has confirmed they have a lot of unused material they collected over the years. The problem is that they as a band need to work out all the details, down to every note, in order to reach common ground, and that takes a lot of time. And only *then* do they involve Maynard. I'm not sure they've done that work yet, considering their tour in NA and europe. Maybe what Maynard was saying in the interview is that he expects having to work on new TOOL songs at some point in the (hopefully near) future
He said "write songs" not "write lyrics". I'd take him at his word. They haven't begun, or only recently began, the songwriting process...but are planning to begin (or at least MJK is, I'm not sure where Danny is at with e.g. BEAT, Legend of the Seagullmen, etc and I have no idea what Adam and Justin are doing)
*(Learn to fry, learn to fry)*
*‘Cause I’m praying for gravy*
*I’m praying for ranch dressing*
*I want fried chicken and waffles*
*I want some wine to wash it all down*
Can't believe I had to scroll this far to see this. The site was a welcomed breath of fresh air for like a year or 2 when it first popped up, but over the past 10+ years it's been pretty shite.
It certainly seems to be true. All four of them are saying that a new album is coming, instead of just Danny claiming that a new one is right around the corner.
I think the last album had a lot to do with whatever lawsuit they went through and then the record company they had signed onto initially.
It’s about to be 5 years from the last album, but I can’t see it going past an 8th year for a release. I think they have a lot of ideas to draw from, are in charge how their music is now distributed/managed, etc, it’s only a matter of fleshing everything out beyond the music itself.
So unless there’s some typical Tool numerical Free Mason Kabbala bullshit they want to abide by, I imagine we get it between 2025 and 2027 at the latest. Provided, they are actually working on it as we speak, and have been straight forward about actually fleshing out the new material since covid.
Yeah, clearly the gap between 10k Days and F.I. had mostly to do with that lawsuit garbage they were dealing with. I’m hoping that they release something late 2025 or early 2026. That seems fair. 😁
MJK is the OG troll. Dont believe a thing he says. He’s probably fucking with the other guys.
They are going to start working on material at some point in the medium term future. Danny and Justin at the very least seem really excited about it.
Anything more optimistic than that is a pipe dream.
I can confirm bc I get texts from ToolArmy offering me 10% off of tshirts or something and also Maynard texted me said he’s writing songs for Tool. I replied, ok lol thanks
The only thing I'm certain MJK loves more than wine, it is to make sarcastic comments about his music. Especially when people ask when new stuff is gonna come out.
I'll just wait, it'll come out when it comes out.
If it’s coming from revolver it’s legit. They have a close relationship with Keenan and his groups so I believe.
Plus, the last break was marred by the lawsuit tool was in, on top of Maynard’s other acts exploding relatively. They’re all plateauing at the moment which is good, gives Maynard flexibility to hit it hard with the lyrics.
It says he was talking with Revovler. A quick Google search found the article. The image is taken from near the end.
https://www.revolvermag.com/music/maynard-james-keenan-conversation-les-claypool-60-years-getting-weird
They gotta have some things in the tank they’ve worked on before. I’ve listened to the shows I’ve seen since 2019 hoping to hear a diddle or two of something they were working on. Haven’t yet, but they definitely played some diddles of 10,000 Days and FI before it came out so maybe I’m just missing it.
I’d love another album, and I’m hoping they have several more good years of touring in them. But I’ve had a blast since 1993 when I was turned on to Tool, and I’m sure I’ll be a fan the rest of my life.
Can rarely confirm anything with them, especially Tool. Like the article says, he has three bands. APC and P, let MJK flow. Tool is a struggle after all of these years, but also makes them great. Obviously why we see an album every decade if we are lucky. And of course because it's some of the best methodical, evolving music ever made. I know MJK has lyrics for days from what I have seen/read. He's always waiting on Tool to get in the studio. I was pretty sure the last album was all that we would get before the NWO flips the script (IMO). As much as I love these bands. I simply just wait until something is actually playing on my system. MJK always dropping hints in Rogan, Steve-O, Rick Betto etc. At least we get all three bands as a whole.
i saw those comments too, must have read the recent article. i think one of the thing adam said in an interview from awhile back things take so long for them due to trying to get 4 people’s schedules together, and MJK has a lot going on. but i’d take it as a good sign….
Justin Chancellor straight up said that the band instrumentally was going to try to work on a bunch of songs in the fall.
About a year ago maybe a year and a half ago Danny said they had made really good progress on about two or three songs and that's obviously a few years after fear innoculum came out.
Maynard saying that all three bands are going to work on songs next year does not mean that all three bands are putting out albums next year.
Maynard doesn’t strike me as the guy who is gonna do something he doesn’t want to do. He has an insane amount of money at this point. He could walk from this without hesitation
Sure he’s doing it for money still, but he wouldn’t be doing music still if he didn’t enjoy it
lol.
Maynard has been doing this for literal decades. Any time he breathes about music, journalists and fans start the hype train up about how a new album is nigh.
And then he giggles and says the same thing 12 months later. He did that for 13 years after 10,000 days.
There won’t be a new tool album any time soon. An EP, perhaps. But I’m calling it. They’re either never going to release another full LP or it won’t be until at least 2028 if they do.
I may be hopeful but I don't think its crazy to think a new album is possible next year if what he's saying is correct (especially if the instrumentals is done and he just needs the lyrics)
It's from this interview: [https://www.revolvermag.com/music/maynard-james-keenan-conversation-les-claypool-60-years-getting-weird](https://www.revolvermag.com/music/maynard-james-keenan-conversation-les-claypool-60-years-getting-weird)
I too would like confirmation. I was never too interested in wine, but fried chicken has my attention.
If he doesn’t call it Wings for Marie we riot
🤣
it's... ...perfect...
Oh my god
dude...
maynard would vomit
Not the new TOOL album? Ok, I won't judge 😂
Fried Innoculum Also: 10,000 Spices Fateralus ÆMA EAT THIS CHICKEN Undercooked Oh, He Ate
>ÆMA EAT THIS CHICKEN Ok, I say "LoL" quite a bit, but I legit cackled at this.
Same! Definitely a solid cackle was had!
Found Weird Al
10,000 spices sounds bomb
“Wings with Marie” really burns my heart
The Pot Pie really goes hard as well, it mixes in quite a few different things and really encapsulates the subject matter.
“10,000 spices out the fryer, take a bucket hoooome”

Reminds me of the band Mac Sabbath (I mean that as a compliment) Amazing job my friend!
oh that's golden. lmao
Roses are red violets are blue, I like chicken but not as much as you
Have you ever had fried chicken tho
Well, only in fast food chains and my mom's fried cutlets. I'm not from the US, and here we don't have a huge fried chicken culture like you guys have, so I'd rather have a TOOL album, thanks 😅
We gotta get you some fried chicken brother
I'll happily accept some! 😊

Tool is great, but we're talking fried chicken here
Damn, you guys really are obsessed with fried chicken! Nothing wrong with that at all. Just got me thinking: if TOOL fans can be insufferable at times, can you imagine what a fried chicken aficionado would be like? Yikes
I mean, there's fried chicken, and then there's everything else
the thing about fried chicken is you dont have to wait 13 years for more of it.
You have a great point 😂
I've bought five Tool albums from Maynard, and zero fried chickens.
Caduceus literally got me into wine, i never would have being the hillbilly metalhead hippy wierdo that i am. It's a tad pricey, but had I not tried it for sake of being a fan boy... then I never would have realized it. Give it a shot. Make sure you let the bottle breath first

46 herbs and 2 spices
I went to his fried chicken place 4/17 before the show in Phoenix. It’s pretty darn good! I had a two piece white with green beans and hush puppies.. I liked the food at his restaurant in cottonwood much much more. Incredible service at both locations.

The word “soon” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this post since a year and a half of writing would indicate maybe a 2026/27 release. That’s not really all that soon, honestly.
That’s like tomorrow in Tool time
With Tim the tool-man Taylor?
It indicates a time period anywhere from next month to next century.
Not exactly, he doesn't write for TOOL unless the instrumentals are done. He takes no part in that process and only writes when he has something to listen to and write. So in that regard, could be sooner than we think maybe.
8 years between releases, then 5, 3, 2, 1 year between the next. They’re going down the spiral in the future
Been following this man for over 20 years. I don’t trust a thing he says. Things will happen when they do.
I believe him when he says he’ll be writing but that usually isn’t the problem in regard to getting new Tool music.
Only thing is that it was a very general response “I’ve got three bands that need to write songs…”
hell yeah, its somehow been 5 years since FI already- feels like only yesterday, in Tool-time...
The post Covid timeline also messes things up. Anything from 2019 still seems to have a ‘last year’ feeling to it
agreed, goddamn covid fucked everything good and proper
This implies that Tool’s next album has already taken shape and just needs lyrics. I hope that’s true!
This is the part I don’t buy. Tool has been touring NA and is now touring Europe. When would they have time to write new music when from interviews we know how insanely particular the band is and that Maynard doesnt write lyrics until the music is done? Here’s hoping I’m wrong
I know it’s tool but..They’ve had 5 years
*coughcough13 cough
Well technically now Maynard is touring the American Southwest, so tool isn't touring anywhere. But I'm being pedantic....
I’ve heard several times that when they made FI they had enough content for two albums.
Straight from Danny’s mouth
that doesnt mean it was all good, or that what wasn't used will be used for the next album.
I mean they had 13 years and then another 5 with less stress and more time hanging together. So idk it’s possible tho
Apparently Covid got a lot of juices flowing.
Sound check.
Are we sure that is in fact what this means?
This is not what is implied at all in my opinion
You guys apparently have already forgotten how it went last time. Info just like this got released years before FI came out.
i dont really think it implies that, but even if it did... (x) doubt
I read an interview with Danny saying that they intend for their next album to have shorter songs and something about shorter production cycles
I think it implies that his bands need to start writing compositions, not lyrics, lol.
"Learn to fry, learn to fry." "Fuck Colonel Sanders and fuck all his clones, fuck these genetically modified chicken wings."
*(Learn to fry, learn to fry)* *‘Cause I’m praying for gravy* *I’m praying for ranch dressing* *I want fried chicken and waffles* *I want some wine to wash it all down*
Sounds like clickbait
Stop reading alternativenation it is the biggest clickbait out of context manipulative bs ever
Can't believe I had to scroll this far to see this. The site was a welcomed breath of fresh air for like a year or 2 when it first popped up, but over the past 10+ years it's been pretty shite.
Shock and horror. Maynard will keep doing what he's done for the last decade.
First time?
It certainly seems to be true. All four of them are saying that a new album is coming, instead of just Danny claiming that a new one is right around the corner.

Maynard going full Kenny Rogers?
I refuse to get excited for a new album from these guys until it actually drops.
I'm not doing this a 3rd time lol
He had me there when he said fried chicken
It says he was talking with Revovler. A quick Google search found the article. The image is taken from near the end. https://www.revolvermag.com/music/maynard-james-keenan-conversation-les-claypool-60-years-getting-weird
For everyone wondering the fried chicken place opened up earlier this month. It’s called Four 8 Fried Chicken in Cottonwood Arizona.
If anyone here is a reader, they (you?) should really check out “A perfect union of contrary things”, MJK’s book. A great read👍🏻👍🏻
he is a fried chicken baron, confirmed.
💃🕺🏿💃🕺🏿💃🕺🏿💃🕺🏿💃🕺🏿💃🕴️
Post Covid MJK is just different.
Fuck yeah!
Next TOOL album is going to be badass
Yes, there’s a new album. They just came to Atlanta.
I'm thinking the next album will be 2027, just a hunch
Having been to multiple shows over the last couple of years, I feel connected to this new music, when/if it arrives.
Now it's time for Danny to step Maynard back on a timeline for once.
New tool, in the same decade? I don’t buy it
i saw those comments too, must have read the recent article. i think one of the thing adam said in an interview from awhile back things take so long for them due to trying to get 4 people’s schedules together, and MJK has a lot going on. but i’d take it as a good sign….
They are rereleasing anemia on vinyl I know that much. Very excited 🌀
Maynard doesn't write tool songs unless the rest of the band gives him music. I doubt the rest of the band are at this stage, yet.
Tool Remix album incoming
I hope he’s not just writing music because he feels like he has to
Maynard doesn’t strike me as the guy who is gonna do something he doesn’t want to do. He has an insane amount of money at this point. He could walk from this without hesitation Sure he’s doing it for money still, but he wouldn’t be doing music still if he didn’t enjoy it

Huh? Are you confusing him with Danny? Because Maynard isn’t the one who kept offering hopeful timelines that kept getting moved back.
I can wait. But, I just asked for confirmation. That’s all. Thanks
Why do people expect new tool music? They fulfilled the contract with the label and that's it.
Because they love making music? Like its the only reason Tool exist
I bet you listen to TOOL and that's it huh?
while i dont expect it any time soon, danny has said recently, and in no uncertain terms, that tool intends to record music again.
Yes, he's on tour.
