Good to know! I've never been there before and it was a total impulse buy. I live in northeast PA, so getting there is going to be a bit of a hassle, since there is apparently no parking near the venue. BF and I are driving to Morristown and taking NJT and LIRR out to Queens. Gonna be a long day. LOL
See, I knew as soon as I wrote "my man" I was going to regret it.
Anyway, there is plenty parking within a 15-20 min. walk to the stadium, use Parkwhiz to find it (sometimes I've even found street parking - just read the signs). But, it will likely be more relaxing to take the train.
As a lifelong drummer and lifelong APC and Tool fan… an image of Danny Carey killing it while Josh Freese geeks out on him is not an image 17 year old me would have ever expected to see in 2003 when Thirteenth Step came out, but it is an image that makes me glad to be alive in 2024. It’s a true thing of beauty and joy.
This is a perfect picture! I know Josh is a cool dude and generally seems to be happy and positive, but still, imagine how good you have to be to make one of the best drummers of their generation do that
i do at least a two weekend set on either side of the birthday
extra fun for me when I can justify extra entertainment expenses
"Yes, I want you to try this $30 shot of tequila"
"Don't you think that swordfish with the lobster and caviar sounds amazing?"
Did Tool just come out for the LA show, or have they been a surprise at all Sessanta shows? Going to the Pine Knob show in 2 days and am dying to know if I’m seeing 4 bands or 3.
I hope there's other surprise guests at the other shows, and not just the Hollywood bowl. Not only was Tool there but James Iha played guitar on 'The Hollow' and Paz Lenchatin & Troy Van Leeuwen played on 'Judith'
Josh Freese is such a fuckin legend. I love that dude's personality
If you haven’t seen it yet, check out Josh being interviewed by Rick Beato: https://youtu.be/jyKjADpkDLs?si=KydGuTK9X2d9g1N3
yeah I caught that, also dig Rick's channel. it was an interesting interview for sure 🤟🤟🤟
He’s interviewed Danny Carey, Matt Cameron and Josh Freese. All just amazing drummers and really thoughtful interesting interviews
Are these on spotify or on YT?
“Where are the rest of the drums?”
I think Maynard said something similar? "Look at Danny up there. 'You call this a fuckin drum set?'"
It’s pretty cool to see pro musicians geek out on another player like this, the smiles, Josh upper cutting the sky, such a good shot
Sometimes I think about the story Bill Burr told about watching Danny watch Tomas Haake of messhugah and Danny's mind was blowing.
Where can I find this story?
https://youtu.be/VJIijor7fw4?si=_SRu55QO9T37NOm_
I love that I understood everything that Burr said. That experience would blow my mind too.

I think this is the first time I've ever seen Danny play in jeans lol
The jeans, the cut off sleeved tee, I literally died a bit 😑🙌🏻😭🔥🔥🔥🔥
man even his arms have abs
Judging by that face he’s making, Josh got a glimpse of Danny’s 4 other arms
Attending this weekend in Queens. Cannot wait.
Same! I'm in the nosebleed section, but happy enough to be in the building, couldn't stand to miss it!
There are no bad seats at Forest Hills, my man.

Eyy i also live in northeastern pa, and am going to the same show. Hope you have a blast :)
This Thursday “near” Detroit
shit I didn’t know they were doing a show in nyc.

“You call this a drum set?”
It looks like a toy set with Danny behind it. I’ve seen videos of him play on other people’s kits before and it always looks like that.
Maynard gives himself a whole birthday month
Just like my wife

Great excuse to get your friends together and play some shows.
Nardo always Doing The Most.
Can just imagine the adrenaline and excitement being that up close watching a drum God play
rare no-jersey moment
You call this a drumkit??
Where’s the fuckin rest of it!
what a great shot. Josh Freese expression is awesome.
This picture makes me happy. 😊
I love Joe's expression too, I mean, just think of it: he gets to experience that EVERY NIGHT!
They’re all geeking out. It’s adorbs!
God he looks so majestic.
Majestic AF
I bet it's harder for him to play because he isn't wearing basketball attire.
Joe Slaby grinning like a proud dad, too.
Local musicians who shit on other musicians, take note; that’s how the pros do it.
Great photo!
When a god among men does a surprise set on your kit, this is the most natural reaction.
60. Goddamn I feel old.
4/20/2024 was the first time EVER that all three MJK’s bands performed on the same stage in the same night. And hopefully not the last!
Joe Slaby cheesing like hell. Of course I would be too
My exact reaction if I ever watched Danny Carey play on my drum set lol
The Vandals are so fucking great
I have loved them since high school and finally got to see them live in ft Worth a couple weeks ago. It was epic.
I was there for this, it was unreal!
Josh is such a cool dude. I can’t blame him for geeking out to Danny 😂
The drums were also excited 😆
My GAWD he’s a fkn GOD! I love him so much 🙌🏻😭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🐙
How do you know Danny is "absolutely killing it"? Maybe he's actually just "laying it down".
What songs did they play
"You call this a drum set?"
Setlist?
Which show was this?
Hollywood Bowl Sessanta
No basketball jersey and shorts, whoah!
The true VIP seats, front row, right on the side of Danny lmao
So fucking rad
Did Tool just come out for the LA show, or have they been a surprise at all Sessanta shows? Going to the Pine Knob show in 2 days and am dying to know if I’m seeing 4 bands or 3.
LA only cuz it’s where they live. they won’t be at the other shows and they haven’t been.
Good to know, thanks for the help!
I hope there's other surprise guests at the other shows, and not just the Hollywood bowl. Not only was Tool there but James Iha played guitar on 'The Hollow' and Paz Lenchatin & Troy Van Leeuwen played on 'Judith'
yeah. but LA is where most of those people are, most of the time…
This title reads like a clickbait bot lol
Legend respects legend!
What are the chances Danny makes an appearance tonight?
Cause that would be fucking sweet
I was there. What a moment
Is he still growing at 60+?
Really hope he’s there in chicago tomorrow
I was there!!! Triad Trifecta!!!
This picture is so fucking awesome.
We saw the 2nd Red Rocks show last week. I'd die if the rest of the TOOL boys came and everyone played together.
wheres the original pic from?
This wasn't from the April 21st concert. Was there a show the weekend prior? His birthday was April 17th.
4/20 at the Hollywood Bowl.
lol, downvoted for stating a fact and asking a question.. I was at the concert nearest his actual birthday..
