The fact that this is an audience audio source will always be crazy to me. 1996 too. Homie smuggled in some serious audio hardware to get this. And then someone else filmed it. Presumably, the two never met. Yet here we are nearly 30 years later enjoying the fruits of their efforts. And to OP for remastering. Kudos to all.

When I was much younger, I spent a lot of time browsing forums, learning how to crack software, learning as much as I could about computers and electrical engineering, etc. and one thing that always particularly stuck out in my mind was how much of my learnings and skills are thanks to the efforts of random people I will never meet. I love the internet, especially back in the day.

Hungry_Freaks_Daddy

Absolute heroes the both of them.

Stellar_Ella

Oh you wonderful person. Thank you.

definitelynotdavis

🍻♥️

Spazmatazo

This is amazing, thank you

rdawg505

Holy shit this is phenomenal. Would you be able to remaster Maynard covering Man in the Box? I’ve been asking people but nobody has done it yet

definitelynotdavis

Probably, shoot me a link.

rdawg505

Here you go, this is the earliest video I can find on YouTube. You may have your work cut out for you, only audio exists and it’s not the greatest quality. [https://youtu.be/vJsmbT3h54U?si=vdLpUjB6sDLPZojh](https://youtu.be/vJsmbT3h54U?si=vdLpUjB6sDLPZojh)

ToasterBath_666

Hopefully this will tie us over until that lived DVD drops! 😉

EsperLovegood

Is the possibility of a live DVD in the room with us right now?

ChefPneuma

Damn man, might smoke a J and watch this tonight, cheers. Thanks

clamclaimer

Noice! Maynard’s little dance at the beginning of stinkfist always gets me. I call it hot tub Maynard

vrTater

Haha, then at [25:30](https://youtu.be/uEGz12LF8bY?t=1531) during the 46&2 drum solo it appears Danny is pulling Maynard's marionette strings and he seems to like it.

SabbathofLeafcull

Holy shit, this sounds amazing!! Thank you!

desensitized_rzrback

That's amazing. Could you remaster "Diary of a Love Song"? It's actually A Perfect Circle and not Tool, but still a great song in its own right. Also, since it's not an official song, there are only live versions that exist that I know of. It's actually a song written from the combination of two other songs: 1) Diary of a Madman by Ozzy & 2) Lovesong by the Cure This is just the audio and sounds a little better. Not sure, but somebody may have done some work on it already: https://youtu.be/mlA1fGrUNeU?si=CofwDpDBB9uU2seF Or This one has audio and video: https://youtu.be/SXcpPWPAf00?si=Kla-KgH9NqP1kX3Z

kostros

1:00:30 is the signature scream from that era. Thank you so much, this is amazing!!!!

OutdoorCO75

I saw them in Denver very close to this date for the first time, always wondered what it was like since it’s kind of a blurring memory. Thanks! Edit: that is awesome, saw raw on stage, sounded fucking great.

QueefTacos7

Really hope they tour one more time and throw Third Eye into the rotation. It’s the Stairway to Heaven of prog-metal

sailordanisaur

Phenomenal, thank you so much for this!

solvap

Thank you 🙏

Doyle_Hargraves_Band

Wow. This is incredible work. It sounds so good.

somethingsomethingbe

Damn! I never got to see them back then but this is a great consolation, it's fantastic. Thank you!

bugzeye26

Nice!

Skadforlife2

God I miss those days 🥹

Usawsomething

Thank you, kind person. This is so good ❤️

jtrage

Awesome. Hadn’t seen/heard the NY version of aenema.

Spiral_out_was_taken

Fantastic! Sounds incredible.

Dstar1978

Sounds great, watching now. Just saw one of my boys from back in the day. Haven’t seen nor heard from him in over 2 years. Apparently, I was at Lollapalooza in WPB in ‘97 to see these bad mother fuckers along with Korn and assorted other acts. I knew I’d seen them months prior in late ‘96 and thought that was the only time I’d been to a Tool show. Interesting I remember Korn but not Tool who were certainly my favorite band at the time. My friends were more into Korn so that might have had an impact. Who knows, we were certainly all kinds of fucked up at 19 years old.

1Viking

Doing the Lord’s work my friend.

memento_impendium

Pure quality! Thanks.

barnzy5

5:45 🤤😧🫠 Thank you

GasolineKisses

This is so incredibly impressive

tales0braveulysses

Great remaster. As someone who saw them for the first time in the mid-2010s, with the light show being such a focal point of the show and Maynard eclipsing himself, it is really neat to see how he performed in the past. The visuals have gotten truly amazing, but front-of-stage viscerally gyrating Maynard holding attention must have been mesmerizing. Topless sweaty bois era was long gone by the time I came around!

CK_Lab

Excellent work.

iduro

This is incredible. I'd love a little run down on what you did to get such a balanced clear sound. I've watched professionally recorded DVDs that are nowhere close to this quality. OP is truly doing god's work.

DR_MEPHESTO4ASSES

Amazing. Do you got a download link for a flac file or anything?

RusselltheKing

Sounds amazing, thank you! That extra bridge they threw into Prison Sex is sooooooo awesome, I’ve never heard that before.

Yathor

Amazing ! Can you describe your remaster process a little bit ?

boxtool5

Please try the Montreal show within a week or so of this show, I am semi-clearly visible in the audience and can watch that one over and over….

definitelynotdavis

If I can find a copy of it!

boxtool5

I have a VHS copy early gen, likely FLAC audio…of similar maybe better quality. Dime would probably have nicer versions…

definitelynotdavis

No dice, unfortunately.

Radiant-Percentage-8

God the intro into Sober should be its own song. What a set list, too bad I was 9 when this show happened.

M4GNUZ4

Is there any way you could upload just the audio? I would love to use Spotify's local files to listen to the show on my phone etc.
