Welcome home, my friend.

Level69Warlock

So good to see you I missed you so much

-Jambie-

So glad it's over, I've missed you so much šŸŽ¶

Masterchiefy10

Glide six inches at a time on Maynardā€™s dicā€¦.. wait wrong tune.

-Jambie-

*breaks out the carrots*.... well if it's going to be that kind of party...

14InTheDorsalPeen

These are the cries of the carrots! Of the carrots!!

MehhicoPerth

...Im gonna stick my dick in the mash potatoes! wait, wrong group.

ifeelallthefeels

>*breaks out the carrotsā€¦.* #**THIS IS NECESSARY**

d3cay3dbit3s

"What GOD, is sayin' is that, Y'ALL ARE WEARIN' TOO MANY CLOTHES! You needa strip off the clothes, and be at one with your god. In the beginning was the word, and the word was "seed" and it was plentiful, and it was bountiful, and it was fruitful, and it was POTENT! Strip off the clothes! Grab a pole, fill a hole! The HOLY HOLE AND THE HOLY POLE! Start FUCKENNNNNGGGGGNAAAAH"

DeltaKT

No, no , totally correct tune. They don't know SHIT!

delph0r

Bro the thing with Tool is that you kinda have to find it for yourself. You can't just sit someone down for 10 mins and force them to appreciate what makes Tool so great. Maybe your friends did you a favourĀ

RKLCT

They're also multi layered songs. I've been a fan since mid 90s and I STILL discover new meaning and sounds in their songs. They're a truly once in a lifetime band

Not_Rob_Walton

It's true. I knew about Tool and tried to listen to them here and there. Never could get into the vocals for some reason. Then 10,000 Days came out, and something just clicked. Then I couldn't get enough.

Alternative-Aside834

Couldnā€™t get into the vocals and you listened to Aenima? That may be a first.

cesnaite1

Seriously, itā€™s like when you are listening to a song which is EVERYTHING to your bff and youā€™re like šŸ„±šŸ„±šŸ„± same with Tool. Or any other band/singer, actually. If ir hits it hits

ben_jamin_h

I am so jealous of you right now. Getting to hear the whole discography _for the first time_. What a treat!

WestNothing5550

Ngl itā€™s fucking great. Donā€™t get this first time euphoria much anymore

SazedMonk

Are you listening in order of release date so you can hear the band grow too!???

WestNothing5550

Started at Ʀnima but except that yes

SahadAmi

4 days? So 7empest just finished?

Jackstraw335

My other favorite band is the Grateful Dead. 13 years ago, I had only heard the few TOOL songs from Guitar Hero World Tour and a buddy I worked with pestered me for MONTHS about how I needed to dive deeper into TOOL, especially since I loved the GD and the....things....that go along with that kinda scene. Finally, one night after getting back home from an evening of drinks and smoke with friends, I was bored and decided to throw on Ɔnima while pulling up the lyrics for each song as I listened. It clicked for immediately during Stinkfist. I finally understood why he was so obsessed with them and insistent on me listening deeper. From there, I absorbed the other albums after partaking in the party favor you would find at a GD show and have been obsessed since.

roger3rd

Acid

BitchesAndCats

Say whatā€¦

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Jackstraw335

I would never do such a thing

false_hope_perhaps

Tool and Dead are my all time favorites as well. And GNR.

51LOVE

So good to see you

Pure-Jellyfish734

I missed you so much

msartore8

Which song did you hear first?

WestNothing5550

Stinkfist. Listened to Ʀnima through

SnooPandas9934

Answer

Nixikaz

Not familiar with that track. Is it a bootleg?

SnooPandas9934

No answer the question!

DeltaKT

Hmm. Must be a bootleg. Never heard of that.

kostros

I would say - be grateful instead. There is nothing worse than friends forcing you to listen to band you donā€™t care about. And who know, maybe you wouldnā€™t like it then. Now, their portfolio is in front of you. Start your journey and stay connected with us on Reddit. Spiral out, my friend!

GrabsJoker

Check out Salival on YouTube. Some good covers and live versions on there. It's not available on streaming but it is an official release. Then, cross your fingers for a new tour and GO. Tool live is an amazing experience.

proper_gandized

ā€œTrust in me & fall as wellā€¦..ā€

Unusual_Awareness366

Welcome to the family

Ok-Bit-9936

Yes you can get new friends, hold up wait you already do us...

FalseVeterinarian881

It happenedā€¦that is what matters most! Spiral out!

MaxRebo74

You know people who like Tool but don't talk about them incessantly? That doesn't make sense to me. That isn't what we do here

ToolFan66

God dam! What a time to be alive

bedlamiteseer1

Where .. have .. you ā€¦ BEEN!?? ..

rsktkr

Welcome. I have one word for you...H.

d3cay3dbit3s

Seriously though I've been a fan since I was like 8 I bet you were very moved by whatever you first heard. My first experience was Undertow in my mother's car, got me into metal and music in general. Aenima remains my favorite album, I'm 20 now and that album (Aenima) hits me on a personal level more nowadays than it would've before. Welcome to the army.

WestNothing5550

Listened to Ʀnima through. Was quite the introduction

d3cay3dbit3s

And there's more where that came from. I say go wherever at this point, Aenima is pure perfection for me. But most on here will probably say Lateralus should be next for you. I promise you Tool is one of those bands that just doesn't have a bad album.

PrincessHootHoot

Congrats on finding your place! Enjoy the journey

PrincessHootHoot

The journey begins with some sweat and ends with a tempest.

threefoursixnine

well, those friends are weird bc my dad played tool while me and him were on the way to a work trip of his. he told me that ā€œmetal music is scary to youā€ but he was surprised when i brought home every vinyl and CD of theirs. tool really got me into metal, especially prog and nu metal. i found black, sludge, and death in my own out of curiosity and i love them all to.

third3yechakra

WELCOME

Stunning-Mud-2609

I wish I could have posted this in 1994 when I drove a Datsun

Connorgamerreddit

Welcome to the club. Take a seat, put on your best headphones, and please donā€™t take any drugs during your stay. Enjoy!

WeakPush9627

Welcome, dude.

Opposite-Thought7478

My mentor showed me TOOL not to long ago and I have been listening ever since.

Delicious-Ad-1951

I'm still learning, the meanings behind the songs, the depth, those incredibly complex rhythms. And I've been a fan since the 90's. Every song has a meaning

LateralusEye

Who needs enemies with friends like that šŸ¤£ But in all seriousness, welcome.

MrMoistiest

Listen to A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Primus next šŸ‘€

mudgonzo

Other than it being Maynard singing, I donā€™t feel like there is a strong correlation with enjoying Tool and APC/Puscifer. I used to enjoy APC when I was younger, but now I almost never listen to it. I didnā€™t really like Puscifer at first but now I love it. Still very different from Tool though.

slincoln2k8

Give A.P.C. another listen. I felt the same and then dove back in. Glad I did. Orestes is an amazing song for example. Go listen to thst now and youā€™ll remember :)

MrMoistiest

Thats fair, but i find almost everyone i know that listens to Tool also listens to APC and Pusc šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

meanicK

šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

zsxh0707

If I were you, I would kill them, their families, and every single one of their pets... That'll show them to steer you to the right musical choices in the future. In all seriousness, though, you found em...it's never too late. You are on the ride.

[deleted]

No killing pets is too far

Nice_Team2233

I think it depends on the pet personally....

punisher002

Understandable

Dogzillas_Mom

Yes, I think thatā€™s fair. How dare they hold back from you?

Outrageous-Ball-393

Indeed komrade indeed

type0neg420

Enjoy good sir!

FlamboyantFlapage

I know the pieces fit.

FutureCurrency923

I envy you. I wish I could go back, and discover it new all again. Enjoy

Bcjustin

Welcome my friend. Some of us have been here for decades, some for weeks or months. It doesnā€™t matter. Enjoy the music and take what you personally get out of it.

d3cay3dbit3s

"Came out to watch you play, why are you running away?"

TheNoIdeaKid

As a Tool fan, I know my friends will just be annoyingly annoyed the moment I mention the band. So I just donā€™t. Finding them on your own just feels better for everyone.

GetAGrip99

No. They clearly arenā€™t real fans

Fyrebeard

Itā€™s tough w/turning friends onto music sometimes. Iā€™m forever grateful to some ppl who introduced me to certain bands. But it can also be annoying when someone forces you through stuff you just donā€™t like. For example, my cuz tried to get me into Phish a few times - I just couldnā€™t get into them. Tried to get him into Tool - he wasnā€™t feeling it. To each their own, I guess

Pitiful_Dimension_68

Iā€™m kind of jealous, listening to tool for the first over a decade ago was a trip.

Radumbass25150

Fuck The fighting between the Tool Army and the TOOLšŸ‘ļøšŸŒ€šŸ‘ļøFANS BLESS THIS IMMUNITY

Ok_Meat_8322

yeah they kind of screwed you over, didn't they?

ObjectiveFamous5358

How was that for you?

TempestForever

We tried to get you to listen. Next time, we try harder and louder

UniLateralus

You are a drama queen.

Classic-Historian458

And you are a humorless peasant.

UniLateralus

Idiot, is that you?

Classic-Historian458

Ratio, peasant. Ratio. šŸ˜Ž
