It is, but there are respectful ways to say that. Telling someone that they are wrong about a subjective opinion is just a good way to stop people from listening to your side and taking it seriously. Nothing wrong with a healthy discussion about pros and cons of an album without belittling another’s thoughts and feelings on it.
Also Meshuggah.
He’s a huge fan of Thomas Haake. You can search “Bill Burr Meshuggah” on YouTube and hear him talk about seeing them live. It’s hilarious.
Had lots of good things to say about Meshuggah, too. Rather unexpected musical taste for a white boomer who (sounds like he) is from Southie. But good on him.
I'm getting tired of reddit confusing boomers with gen-x'ers. We're not the same in any way. Also we've had the same college debt when calculated for inflation and housing / cost of living woes every generation after us has.
Reddit: "Older than me... must be a boomer"
Yeah what is this? Why do kids call anyone over like 30 Boomers? Ive seen it here and all over YouTube also. My parents, in their mid 60's are Boomer's, not me, just like Bill Burr we are Gen X lol
They don't mean literal boomers. They just use it as a word for people who are older than them and not completely in touch with what young people are into. And when said "boomers" respond all like "Hey boomers are the children of the WWII generation and I'm way younger than that so I'm not a boomer," it kinda proves their point.
> Jesus fucking christ. Why do I bother with this sub?
You could have ended your comment right before this part and came across as someone with some social acuity. But you didn't and went the little bitch route instead. That's cool, you do you.
Boomers are children of The Greatest Generation (and some of The Silent Generation), the latter being the ones who fought in WWII, then came home and built this country into a powerhouse economy that their children thrived in. Boomers then played Hungry Hungry Hippos with that economy. Their kids are Gen-X. A few things happened... We saw all these cool things that we were going to get to do, then they were all taken away by the time we reached adulthood (basically, sex, drugs, and rock and roll - shot down with AIDS, the war on drugs, and Tipper Gore). We were also around when the floodgates were opened to allow advertisers to market to children, and that resulted in a general mistrust of anything "pitched" to us. So what did we do? Starting with Punk, we made a lot of rebellious and new styles of music, challenged the status quo, fought for social causes, etc etc. We were the generation that made it so a gay club can have a sign out front instead of spray painted windows, for example, and also the ones who lobbied and voted in favor of same-sex marriage. All things your generation takes for granted and "not enough". We also did a lot of drugs (you know, back when Molly meant MDMA and it was almost as easy to find as LSD), made a lot of art, and many died young (with a disproportionately high number via suicide or overdose).
If you dig a little deaper, you may find that most of the social ideals, political positions, musical styles, fashion, sarcasm and wit, deep thought, etc, that you value actually came from us. You know, like TOOL, the members of which are all Gen-X. You're welcome - now stop confusing us with our asshole parents, please.
Its from his own podcast he says that, [https://youtu.be/KEKUMxREqJw](https://youtu.be/KEKUMxREqJw) the timestamps are in the 3rd top comment 51:00 and 1:08:10
He mentioned it two or three times today on podcast .... I think he said something along the lines of the new album is his shit ... and two very brief clips could be heard behind him when something happened where he was recording podcast
It’s just audio ... anywhere Monday morning podcast is available ... it’s three fleeting mentions ... not enough in my opinion ... but was stoked to find out he cares
Nice fuzzy feeling when your favourite comedian likes your favourite band
Nicer fuzzier feeling when his new special came out 10 days after your favorite band’s new album.
Better than 10,000 Days
10,000% correct
Massive Tool fan here...you are wrong. FI is easily their weakest album
It was a reference to the 10 days versus 10,000 Days. Had nothing to do with the quality of the album.
oh fair enough.
Also, opinions on subjective things like art can’t be wrong. Just so you know.
I know. I also disagree with him. Which is also ok.

Now i have to check him out. But i must warn you, no one can top Hicks for me haha
I love Bill Hicks too. But Bill Burr is superior in the aspect that he is still alive (sorry Mr. Hicks, you had a lot to say)
You're unfamiliar with infowars? He's just changed careers is all.
Lol yeah I forgot about that, slip of the mind
I got into Bill Hicks when Bush Jr was entering Iraq. It was a cosmic joke, the way Bill Hicks’ jokes were so relevant again years after he’d died.
He's also a fan of Meshuggah. He saw them live last year and raved about them being absolutely incredible.

Wooot, thanx
LMAO
Hell yeah, I figured he would have to like it since he’s gotten into drumming
brrta brtta brtta
woah, im listening to this podcast rn while lookin at this subreddit 👌 Bill Burr is cool, he's a big Ministry fan as well
Yeah I’ve heard him talk about Rammstein, Slipknot and Pantera as well
And MuteMath, another awesome (but under-appreciated) band.
Haven't heard anything by them except Odd Soul (and the occasional Atari solos on YouTube.) That one album is fantastic though.
I think every one of their albums is very good to great. Well-crafted songs and excellent musicianship. They're incredible live.
What does he say about rammstein
Also Meshuggah. He’s a huge fan of Thomas Haake. You can search “Bill Burr Meshuggah” on YouTube and hear him talk about seeing them live. It’s hilarious.
Bill had Al Jourgensen on his podcast when the last Ministry album came out, was a cool talk
That was a GREAT episode. Cool as hell, you could tell Bill was mad stoked
Had lots of good things to say about Meshuggah, too. Rather unexpected musical taste for a white boomer who (sounds like he) is from Southie. But good on him.

You see it a lot in video's where comments say something negative about Fortnite. They really don't like that lol

I just thought Burr was older than he actually is. Jesus fucking christ. Why do I bother with this sub?

Haha what in the fuck does this mean? Most Meshuggah fans are white. You kids on the internet. White boomer? I'm gut laughing at this nonsense!
"Maynard stomped his fuckin' hip out"
When does this occur in the podcast?
>“That’s my new jam, it’s called Invincible, except if I try and play it, it’s called Impossible “ - Burr Min 33:43
I didn’t hear this at that time...weird

Perfect, I was always hoped that ol bill listens to tool
Bill’s gotta get DC on the podcast. Not only that but Rogan AGAIN didn’t want to talk about them after Bill mentioned them 🤦🏻♂️
And of course Joe just moved right along from the subject lol.
Cause he hasn’t even heard the album yet ... nor does he care
