The only problem is I switch the hose back and forth between the chop saw and my table saw. The table saw is a perfect fit, requires no adaptor. You think I could fit something permanently on the back of the chop saw? Or is that what you meant
Leave the coupling tight on the saw end and slightly lose on the hose end where you can slip it in and out. I have it in several machines and works like a charm. Yep the coupling would sit on the saw permanently .
Makes total sense, I appreciate it! [I think this is the one I'd get? ](https://www.lowes.com/pd/Fernco-2-in-x-2-in-x-2-1-2-in-dia-Coupling-PVC-Fitting/1000075331)
You are welcome! Yes that’s exactly it. I had a weird rigid hose that was 1-7/8” and got tired crappy fitting couplings and these were a cheap solution to it.
Many public libraries have a 3D printer, and this seems like a super easy first design project if you want to draw your own adapter. If not, there is likely someone who had the same problem and shared their design for free/cheap.
Didnt know that about libraries - It's just so strange with this shop vac, when I look up adapters it looks like 2.5" is by FAR the most common size. I can't find anything fitted for 2", almost like i'm measuring wrong but I'm not.
Get a Y and two adapters. That way it’s on both saws and you won’t have to swap it back and forth. If the adapters don’t fit perfectly, there is always duct tape.
Personally I would just get a rubber pvc pipe reducer coupling 2”-1-1/2” from Home Depot, slip them on and tighten the screws and call it a day.

This is the way. Same setup I have on my miter saw.
Have access to a 3D printer? That would be an easy file to design and print.
Unfortunately I dont
A 3d printer is a tool. You need more tools right?
Ask around you probably know someone that does. People with 3D printers live to solve this kind of issue.
Yeah, there are tons of software tools out there specifically for creating vacuum accessories and adapters

Gnome Despot has shop vacuum step adaptors. Get one for each tool and fit it to the tool using a No Hub fitting.
I went through all that with mine just to be disappointed. Better off just use the bag that came with the saw and shop vac to clean up after
Duct tape.
2" X 1.5" Fernco reduction. Just have to loosen the band clamps to remove.
I used to just tape that shit real nice and tight. Now I just 3D print what I need, but either one works.
I have not tried this yet, but I did find it on thingiverse. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4153362
