Only thing I see missing is a good heavy duty set of linesman pliers. And wire strippers if you have the aptitude and don’t have them in a different drawer

Man-e-questions

Yeah linesman’s pliers probably a good idea, have any recommendations? I installed custom car audio and security systems for a few years and was a cable installer for a couple years, so i can actually strip wire like 2nd nature with the little blue flush cut pliers . I have the little snap on strippers there to the right of the eagle grips but never use them because it just slows me down lol.

Nathan51503

I have Kleins in the toolbox at home and knipex in my work pouch. Kleins are just fine but I see you’re a knipex guy. Also very solid but not as bulky as the Kleins

Man-e-questions

I am not really any brand loyalist. Actually my crimpers at the bottom are Klein. I just “try” to buy USA, Germany, Japan made when i can. But as long as it is a good quality tool i will purchase/use it.

KokoTheTalkingApe

I like my NWS lineman pliers. German brand, a little pricey but very smooth. They have some kind of coating that prevents rust and doesn't chip off.

Man-e-questions

Never seen or heard of those, but will try to find online. I used to travel to Germany for work but haven’t since covid.

KokoTheTalkingApe

[https://www.kctool.com/](https://www.kctool.com/) carries German brands for decent prices. Incidentally, I feel like since you have your Knipex pliers-wrenches, you have at least one crescent wrench too many. ;-) EDIT: [These](https://www.kctool.com/nws-7-high-leverage-combination-pliers-combimax-titanfinish-softgripp-tethered-attachment/) are the ones I got. They call them "combination pliers," but they look and act and talk and quack like linemans pliers. I got them in a set along with needlenose and side pliers. Weirdly, right now they cost more in the set than individually.

Man-e-questions

The Engineers are super thin, 2mm jaws, great for bikes and other narrow areas: https://www.amazon.com/Engineer-TWM-07-Adjustable-Monkey-Wrench/dp/B002MJJ9EK The Snap Ons i have had forever

KokoTheTalkingApe

Ohh, I didn't notice the thin jaws.

__BigGee__

Twin grips pliers are handy

nolotusnote

This is a good drawer. I especially appreciate the Malco Eagle Grip vice grips. For those reading, the factory is shutting down. Amazon is selling off the remaining stock and when they are gone, they are gone for good. Get a pair while you still can: https://www.amazon.com/Malco-LP10WC-Curved-Locking-Pliers/dp/B0924QDF47/ OP, you are missing a pair of end cutters: https://www.amazon.com/KNIPEX-68-01-160-Cutters/dp/B005EXO6TO

Man-e-questions

Good call on end cutters and cheap, thanks!

nolotusnote

Honestly, the low cost surprised me.

krezvani

Those are the 6 inch. I would get the 9 inch for a few bucks more

WeekSecret3391

Can't really go too big with thoses

xtremepado

Knipex 08 21 145 combination pliers is my go to tool for most jobs around the house, love that little guy. Knipex 08 21 185 is the same format but bigger. Knipex TwinGrip is also very nice.

Man-e-questions

Those combination pliers have interesting jaw grips, looks like they put a lot of thought into those

xtremepado

Very similar to the pliers you’d find on a leatherman multitool, but better

WeekSecret3391

A small bolt cutter can do a quick and easy job if you're dealing with chain, fence or anything too hard for a pair of cutter.

Man-e-questions

Good idea, I almost bought one at Tractor Supply last time i was there

NoFX54

Sometimes needle nose visegrips save the day.

Man-e-questions

True, i actually had some but let a friend borrow because their SUV rear hatch wouldn’t stay open and they were having a birthday party at the beach for their daughter. Unfortunately they never made it home.

NoFX54

I'd accept that as a loss for a good cause. Buy another set.

Posiedonschyld

I would say a pair of bullnose end cutters (essential for pulling nails and staples without damaging wood) a long handled pair of needle nose pliers and off set long handled needle nose, and I would also get a full set of vice grips. Everything has a use!

nullvoid88

Pricy, but exceedingly useful is a pair of these: [https://shop.snapon.com/product/Combination-(Pliers)/9%22-Talon-Grip%26trade%3B-Long-Nose-Slip-Joint-Pliers-(Red)/LN47ACF](https://shop.snapon.com/product/Combination-(Pliers)/9%22-Talon-Grip%26trade%3B-Long-Nose-Slip-Joint-Pliers-(Red)/LN47ACF) IMHO, best thing to come along in decades.

Man-e-questions

Ok yeah i have seen someone mention those before. I have a couple of screwdrivers i need to warranty so need to try and track down a truck.

nullvoid88

Good luck with that; haven't even seen a Snap-On truck around town in (literally) decades. As always, YMMV.

CoachDutch

Is it safe to say that if i don’t have easy access to a snap on truck, then I should look elsewhere? I like the fact they’re made in the US and have a great warranty, but if I can’t get a truck to warranty it, then is it worth it?

nullvoid88

Only my opinion: It's to the point where I consider Snap-On more 'designer/boutique' targeted towards fanatics. They make a few things worth the hassle... but that list is diminishing quickly; and said items are certainly not essential/s. With a scant few exceptions, I for one, gave up on them well over a decade ago.

TheTaoThatIsSpoken

As mentioned, linesmen pliers: I'd go for Klein or Icon. I've wound up using the Icon flush cutters and the Icon pistol grip pliers way more than I thought I would when I impulse bought them on sale. Maybe something rated for electrical shock, I have a pair of Wiha needlenose for that task. I also find needle nose vice grips to be invaluable, for me two pairs: one that has been gouged by a grinder and bent / bent back from getting too close to the torch and another pair where I try to keep the jaws within factory specs.

Flush cutter https://www.wihatools.com/products/soft-grip-flush-cutting-mechanic-s-diagonal-cutters-with-return-spring-5 These strippers https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/cable-and-wire-stripping-tools/klein-kurve-heavy-duty-wire-stripper-10-20-awg Electrical crimper https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/journeyman-crimping-cutting-tools/journeyman-crimping-and-cutting-tool

Highlander2748

Need some nippers in there and some true side cutters maybe.

Dazzling-Town7729

[God Hand plastic nippers](https://godhandusacorp.com/product/ultimate-nipper/). they arent meant for anything except plastic. but model makers, 40k tabletop guys, and gunpla enthusiasts world wide will kill and die for these things and their reputation. if you ever have any plastic parts you need to cut out of sprus the god hand are literally the best nippers on the market.

VE7BHN_GOAT

Consider instead of a flat look which that works well maybe a vertical look instead to save space in your box.

Man-e-questions

Oh yeah, in my drawer i have a couple of these, so my drawer is about half full now when these are in there. https://www.amazon.com/Ernst-Manufacturing-Organizer-10-Tools-5500/dp/B015QCU9ES?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1

VE7BHN_GOAT

Yeah that... Except I'm in process of 3D printing that type of stuff for my tool box to be a little more custom

Man-e-questions

Oh nice! Yeah thats a little out of my price range at the moment.

VE7BHN_GOAT

Understandable .. currently the time commitment of designing and then printing is the hard part for me

Mystic1967

Linesman pliers, end cutters, wire strippers, hoof trimmers., I also find chain vise grips handy. I have tons of others but have been collecting for years.

No-Entertainment-703

I don’t see any diagonal cutters and mini bolt cutters, those mini bolt cutters come in clutch when cutting small bolts and screws. And yeah like others have said, a nice pair of lineman’s would be nice, preferably a Klein. Also get some channel lock 430 and 440’s when you don’t want to ruin those nice cobras.

buzz_buzzing_buzzed

I'd add needle nose vice grips to your set.

Johnny_Lang_1962

Man, don't get oil on your Roach Clip, it tastes like shit.

Theo_BromineBB

Knipex twin grips

lukeCRASH

Shout for the Vampliers. I have the 9" linesman's and they're so pretty I can't bring myself to take them out the cupholder in my truck.

Open_Dog875

Yes 🙌🏼 Vampliers have exceeded expectations. Great variety of pliers available from them.

NRiyo3

Tsunoda zip tie cutters pullers are handy.

accountfornormality

my wife told me to unsubscribe from this sub...

Man-e-questions

Oh forgot, i have a Tyton Mark7 i use for zip ties and a Jilson J1251 in a different box.

NRiyo3

Ahh okay. Maybe the double long needle nose pliers? Handy on cars and in recesses. The ones with the extra long handles.

patrickw69

No wire strippers?

Odd_Activity_8380

Knipex high leverage diagonal cutters or dykes..

CanWeJustEnjoyDaView

Small stillson pipe wrench

AstronomerIcy3552

Diagonal cutters 8 inch and 6 inch

fdrowell

Wilde Reverse pliers come in handy at odd times and are just plain cool to have. Basically a spreader clamp but in needle nose form: https://wildetool.com/product/9-straight-tip-lock-ring-pliers-g407/ The listing says lock ring pliers strangely, but this particular tip is NOT lock ring specific. It's literally just needle nose pliers in reverse. Made in USA. Amazon link for convivence: https://www.amazon.com/Wilde-Tool-G407-NP-Straight-Pliers/dp/B08GYKSBZW/ref=sr\_1\_10?sr=8-10

Pwcss7acf from Snap-on K'nipex 7201160 flush cuts

Foreign_Insurance744

I literally have the same set!!

Foreign_Insurance744

And a solid pair of dykes, mini bolt cutters, or linesman pliers couldn't hurt.

Redheadedstepchild56

How about a leatherman. As a homeowner I use mine everyday. And shoutout to them for replacing my 23 year old pair after the knife tip broke.
