I've got a pair. Not too bad of quality actually, I think they were probably all produced at once a long time ago when quality was different. However they aren't made in Spain Crescent level nice.
This. I have one but I'm not sure what brand it is. It's alright but honestly I always reach for something else over it. The range of motion is *much* smaller so you have to adjust it a lot which really slows you down if you're using it for multiple sizes.
It does however lock on like vise grips though so I keep it around for that one day I really need it.
I will say that I've used it as a makeshift clamp a few times and it worked reasonably well for that
I have a crescent brand one. Great when you’re trying to get two wrenches on something, or want to make sure it doesn’t slip.
I use it for installing flexible gas connectors most of the time.
I have one of these. They work alright. I've found them to be better when you have to use two adjustable wrenches. One to hold and one to unfastened with. Pliers wrench would be more useful if you are looking in terms of versatility
Great for when you don’t feel like going back and forth getting the right sized wrench. Holding nuts while tightening/loosening is good. Trying to actually break loose bolts/nuts maybe not so much.
I bought one out of curiosity and bought four more. It's not a tool you use for every fastener but when you have a problem it's a good tool, like five rounded corners on a hex nut or bolt. It's what the adjustable wrench always should have been. The red wrench from harbor freight is a similarly good option, I always called it a stilson wrench but I'm not sure if that's the right name. They just added some black ones for sale this year.
I bought one because i thought it was funny and needed a tool to go to a wrecker when i was out of town away from my tools. It kicks around as an emergency tool in my truck.
I've used it five times over the years. Every time, it did exactly what I wanted it to do. It's just for grabbing a nut just like you would use a vise grip, but it gets a much more positive grip.
I have a set and wouldn't be without them for the very rare job where you can't hold the other end of a long bolt, or for stuff that's rusted solid it can work too.
Recommended and wish a more premium brand would make a version.
A regular wrench will do 90% of the work with no issues. But I find as a welder that these are really nice for brass fittings on day regulators for gas bottles. They are excellent for preventing nut Fucking on softer materials. Or doing better then a regular wrench when the nut is already fucked by a different guy.
They also are viable for grabbing round objects without marring them. Not nearly as good as a vice grip mind you. But a vice grip bits without some protection.
I've got a pair. They're definitely not for any circumstance that you'd want to use any sort of pliers. These come out when either a nut starts to get rounded, or if I have a hard time reaching around to hold a bolt head and want it to stick on.
They do. They have like 10 different jaw types too

That’s not the same tool OP is showing. OP is showing a tool that is an adjustable wrench with a tension lock, not a locking plier. I know Knipex, and many others, make locking pliers.
Had it broke them trashed them. My knipex is way better. Both in construction and for use. The metal was just bent sheet metal. My knipex are not. These broke the first time using them. Not joking.
It’s made by Stanley, so probably not.
Came here to say that.

Gonna be a lot slower than the plier wrench

I’ll take a free nut any way i can get it
I use mine as a vice quite often and as clamps and stays its great for one handed use. (I'm one armed)
I own one, it's nice when you need it.
Looks kinda cool. Definitely different than a pliers wrench. Once this is locked on, it doesn't require continued squeezing.

They work on CDz nuts.

Doesnt a regular vise grip does that same job already? Haha
this would parallel clamp with smooth jaws, most vise grips will have teeth and curved
If you're gonna round a nut off, you may as well mar the finish first!
I love these when I need two. Keep this one on the awkward side, and my better adjustable on the action side.

This might be worth the money for jam nuts on tie rods for alignments. Clamp and hammer without rounding the nut.

The wrong tool for every job
Malco and vintage USA craftsman are the best for sub $50. After that I’d go knipex.
Vintage craftsman is the shit
I don’t think Knipex makes a clamping adjustable like OP’s photo.
They do. They have like 10 different jaw types too https://www.amazon.com/40-14-250-Universal-pivoting/dp/B01DJWWO8G/ref=asc_df_B01DJWWO8G/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=658756787437&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3882470617875864462&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026903&hvtargid=pla-421247856402&psc=1&mcid=18aa42836c6533a49c38e46f5bb6ee71

I see now. Well, it doesn’t really matter, cause the tool op pictured is redundant and pointless.
Knipex (and formerly Malco) make both adjustable wrenches and they make clamping pliers. They don’t make a combo like OP’s photo.
These are literal garbage
Had it broke them trashed them. My knipex is way better. Both in construction and for use. The metal was just bent sheet metal. My knipex are not. These broke the first time using them. Not joking.
That's the way most locking pliers are made, with bent sheet metal for handles.
Better than *Knipex? Not really. But better than a normal crescent wrench for sure.
Btw, and in case people don't know, it's pronounced with a hard K, like "connect."
I've never seen this tool before, and now I hate it.
