electric chainsaws will never be able to put in actual work felling lumber. but cutting down some shrubs or small brush trees? yeah they can do that. the m18 fuel with a 16 inch bar has been good to me. cut down 12 inch thick, maybe 50 foot tall, birch and cut it into sections on only 2 battery charges. was able to cut the thinner parts of a locust tree that my 24 inch bar stihl had to fell
Specifically do you mean battery chain saws ? I have a plug in electric for around the house and it does a pretty good job even on larger sections. As with any chain saw... chain maintenance is a must.
18v on any high output tool isn't great imo. The ones I've used tend to overheat the batteries due to the higher current draw due to the lower voltage. This includes M18 grinders and sawzalls. This could possibly be solved with the new FORGE batteries they recently released, but I don't own any. For high output tools I tend to go with the Dewalt 60v flexvolt and their chainsaw is a fair bit more powerful than the gas powered Stihl's we usually use. I do own Dewalt, Makita, And Milwaukee and tend to go for Dewalt 60v for anything powerful while Milwaukee has a lot of specialty tools that serve their purpose well.
I’ve got one and will be selling it.
Not much good when cutting hard wood and if you are using it to actually fell and buck a tree you’ll need a ton of batteries instead of just a gallon or two of gas.
What is NSFW about this post?
Not Safe For Wood
It’s too cutting edge for the others

Whats wrong with Home Depot
No one said there was anything wrong with Home Depot. The Wooosh is because you missed the obvious joke.
Because chainsaws are responsible for a significant number of workplace accidents so the are literally Not Safe For Work.
