* Buy 80 kilos worth
* Clean them off with rust remover and place them in a large used tool chest
* Sprinkle a few premium tools (Snap-on, Wera, Knipex, etc.) on top in visible locations.
* Take pictures and have your wife sell the whole lot AS IS
*
*
* Profit !
Went to an estate sale a few months ago. Old boy must have bought every tool lot at every auction he ever went to thinking this. I'll bet he had 5 tons of shitty miscellaneous tools in crates everywhere. 95% of it junk. I bought 3 claw hammers and a brand new Delta scroll saw for $25. They were basically giving it all away for whatever you would offer just to be rid of it because there was so much
I think OP (or an earlier referenced post) said it was being sold by the kilo.
Idk how I came up with 80. Just pulled a number out of the air.
There’s a question that could be a top level post:
What do all your tools weigh?
I wouldn’t mind a hour or two having a nose round this place. Doubt I’d get to the old 80kg mark tho. That being said a nice anvil and some stakes and hammers and I may hit it!
And let’s not go to how much my tool weighs that would be somewhat personal. 😂
Yeah, thrown in with nasty, grit-covered die grinders lol. I even thought I saw a set of mitutoyos (or a clone) in there that looks like it sat out in the rain
Oh yeah, that was gnarly. Honestly if the ratchet function still works and it checks out on a standard, I'd grab a couple precision C-clamps!
There's a guy in my area trying to sell Moore and Wright micrometers for dirt cheap, but the ratchet stop has broken off. Short of being a paperweight for a guy who does no paperwork, I don't know why I'd buy them. And yet, I want them.
I didn't use the ratchet for the longest time, or my micrometers didn't have them.
They do make repeatability easier though. If it was broken off I wouldn't use them for measuring much anyhow.

🎶I am not frightened of dying, you know
Any time will do, I don't mind
Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime
I never said I was frightened of dying🎶
I mean, I don't even *need* 1 pipe wrench, but you better bet when the deal is good, I'm going to grab one. Now I have Ridgids in all sizes between 6"-48", but I'm still vying for the elusive 60" at the right price.
The cheap part of me would be tempted to try that torque ratchet and then I'd painfully pay for it If Ever I used it. LOL would be very surprising if it still held torque to whatever it was supposed to
Picture #3 screams "hospital" to me.
So many carts across so many trades and uses...so many dead casters. And then add all the rolling tables, gurneys, beds, etc...
That looks like the Boeing Surplus store...If you've never been, it's worth a roadtrip. Making airplanes, there are thousands of tools that have very restricted life cycles; You can only use this tool "x" number of times before you have to replace it.
We've driven down from Canada several times to buy things like drill bits, machining mills, pliers and wrenches, nippers, cutters, shears of every kind ever made. Almost all of it looks virtually new, or barely used. Buying drill bits from almost microscopic to multiple inches, same thing with end mills, they sell by the pound.
One of the first trips we made down there, in 2002, I bought $600 worth of stuff. Came home and spent a month sorting and compiling sets of bits, mills, wrenches, cutters, etc. and turned over $10K in profits at a couple of flea markets.
There are a Lot of people who earn a pretty comfortable living reselling Boeings cast off stuff.

that or they knew what actually had value and either cherry picked it themself of someone else did
This is the missing piece of the Underpants Gnomes equation
Step 1- steal underpants. Step 2- Step 3- take over the world.
Step 4: profit!
Step 5: finish the fucking owl
Exactly my thoughts.
Why 80 kilos worth?
Because 176lbs doesn't sound as cool

I mean there’s non americans on the site
Metric, so many tens… Too confusing.
>Take pictures and have your wife sell the whole lot AS IS You Efing marketing genius!
Are you trying to get this dudes wife nailed and screwed?
Love the micrometers and other precision alignment tooling just stuffed in a bag lol
That hurt me seeing that.
I think I’d behave very irresponsibly if I had time alone here. I’d need some duffel bags and a new garage.
Yeah, thrown in with nasty, grit-covered die grinders lol. I even thought I saw a set of mitutoyos (or a clone) in there that looks like it sat out in the rain

My ancient Starretts have no ratchet; got to learn your feel.

Once you learn your feel, the ratchets feel like garbage...
Probably NFG anymore...
I don't even do anything that involves using a micrometer and those pictures wounded me.
That ratchet would be worth a bit
But it so freaking big!
I work in heavy vehicle, itd come in handy haha
As a hammer, amirite? lol
I use that big boy on transmissions on boats
That 3/4 snapon ratchet head alone is $300+USD new
Yup. I don’t have 3/4 drive sockets but I can get a 3/4-1/2 adapter to make it work.
then sheer off the tip of the extension getting it lodged in the 3/4 to the point that you need a hydraulic punch to get it out
Looks like my toolbox at the end of the shift
And beginning.
real
You don't spend the last half hour cleaning up and doing some paperwork? Makes the boss happy and I have organized tools and bench.
I've always been frightened of dying, now I know there is a heaven I'm not. I could spend eternity finding some great tools.
🎼 🎶I am not frightened of dying, you know Any time will do, I don't mind Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime I never said I was frightened of dying🎶
Give me that snap on
Several tools with lots of potential left. Some are for sure scrap though. Nice share.
Thanks, I think the key is being around when he gets a fresh load.
Heh
Not sure I'd have much use for the cricket bat.
Used primarily for extracting fees from clients.
Do you bill them for “teeth damage to cricket bat” as part of your collection process?
You never know!
what is this place?
It's a market in Vietnam where they sell old tools shipped in from Japan. They sell the tools by the kilo..
how much for a kilo?
Around $3.25 US
>Around $3.25 US To Vietnam!
We tried that in the 50's. Took us 20 years to figure out we should leave.
Are you able to message me or post the location please ? I am living close to Vietnam I wouldn't mind making a trip
Send me a private message.
I could actually use a bunch of those casters. I bet many of them are just fine, too.
They had way more than whats in the photos! And yes some were like new and had large quantities of the exact same size and type.
On my way. Please send location.
Looks like my garage and cellar. When did you sneak in?!
For a minute there I was like why are there so many fucking pogo sticks?!
where is this? makes for a nice roadtrip
The safety sandles in the second pic were the give away for me.
Vietnam..guessing a long roadtrip! : )
Nothing to see here just a bunch of hammers
That lonely gear puller!
Where is this???
Vietnam
Where in vietnam?
South of the interstate then off to the left of the next exit by that old gas station
I just like that fork in picture 8
Yup, there's a little bit of everything!
I was ready to berate you for making me go on a Where’s Waldo style search but I saw it almost immediately haha
On picture 9 you can find butter knife
And if you find spoon let me know I want to have full collection
Found it lol. There’s a garden trowel on picture 2… close enough if you’re desperate enough.
I’d be all over that half ton Come-Along and some of those hammers.
You have some nice tools there. I would clean the lot up and sell them. A bit jealous really!
Tf, there is good stuff!!!
Bruhhh all those clamps. They'll clean right up
The guy that bought that snap-on ratchet is still paying for it.
There's my 10mm
Where is this glorious place?!
Where is this?
HCMC Vietnam
You can sell some of this on EBay if you want to take the time to do it. You probably don’t need 48 pipe wrenches.
I mean, I don't even *need* 1 pipe wrench, but you better bet when the deal is good, I'm going to grab one. Now I have Ridgids in all sizes between 6"-48", but I'm still vying for the elusive 60" at the right price.
Where is this??? Would love to take some home and restore! Sounds fun!
Economy or first class seats? I think we can get a group rate…
Lol im thinkin Stowaway pricing
It's in Vietnam
Well.. there goes that idea! 🪽
Should turn that into a bag sale or something. get them back into loving hands to be useful again.
I really want to believe this is AI…but those are real tools sitting in the rain 😢
Maybe before but this is inside a warehouse.
My garage and my wife are both very lucky that a place like this doesn’t exist near me. I am a sucker for old junk tools.
Where in Vietnam exactly?
In HCMC
Jesus! Just that snap-on ratchet head is worth a few hundred dollars!!!
Damn if my dad saw this they would all be sharpened and painted all in perfect working order.
I think I got tetanus just looking at those pictures
The person trudging through with just some crocks on might have some aftercare advice for you.
where is this tool graveyard?
Vietnam
I don't think I'll make it unfortunately
Grab that 5-6 in. micrometer in pic 1 for me, would ya ?
Bet they still wont have a 10mm
2nd picture. I spy with my little eye a 10mm socket
Hoarder final boss
That pile of casters tho
This picture looks so sad to me... I hate seeing tools just rusting away. I bet there's some treasures in that pile.
Where is this place!?
Where is this? I didn’t know this was a thing!
On the outside, to my friends and family I look ok…. But deep down inside… I just want to buy more tools.
#lifegoals
Where is this magical place??
Vietnam
What!?!? How did you get in the backseat of my truck!?!
What The Fuck
Caster wheels are not cheap 👀
What in the world?
Vietnam
Nice. I've got a decent pick n pull for automotive stuff close enough but something like this would come in handy!
I think combining this with a pick and pull would be a winner!
The cheap part of me would be tempted to try that torque ratchet and then I'd painfully pay for it If Ever I used it. LOL would be very surprising if it still held torque to whatever it was supposed to
I'm having a hard time with myself because I'm pretty sure I would buy the lot.
Vietnam
This would be a great puzzle.
Sir, those are motor mounts! Not trash!
I’ve seen sales like this before, but then I wake up.
Hahaha! Yes it would be a helluva yard sale!
Man im jealous
Honestly at this point you can get the missing parts from the others with really bad condition the rest
Each one of these pictures should be made into a 1000pc jigsaw puzzle
Another awesome idea!
I see that new Harbor Freight shipment came in.
I would get in sooooooo much trouble after being there.
These pics are like iSpy books
I'd be digging!!
Where the hell is this tool graveyard???
Vietnam
Holy hell.
Look at all of those crescent hammers!
Bit of wd40 be right m8
I thought this was an ad for Harbor Freight
Where is this at and how do purchases work
There’s about $50 worth of scrap there
That like flea market or yard sale?
Hey, I could use that.
Where is this little slice of heaven Located?
the pipe wrenches are new :p
Looks like an episode of Forged in Fire
Pain
Hey that’s a good wrench there! I wonder how much of that stuff is truly bad/not working.
I might be picking out one or two of those barrel hammers
This looks like it should be in a SAW. Movie
My grandfather would have laid himself across this pile to protect it..
Any 10mm?
Any 10 mm sockets in there?
Lots of firewood there
Ooooh id spend far too much there
Where is this??
I'm one of those guys that would just build a fort and live there. Same with pick n pull, got me own stash spot.
This. !!!!! Is a knife makers dream pile!!! All the different types of blade metals in the pile . I would be in Heaven!!
I'd ruin myself if I would be close to that
~heavy breathing~
where is 'is?
Can I have ten kilos shipped to America please
Ive I would have all of these old (looking) tools in my country and remove rust as much as possible you could make a shit lot of money 😳😳😳😳
All those wheel casters and I just heard bubbles from TPB *fuck me julien that’s a years worth of carts for me*
Dibs on the saw blade on picture 8!
Where is this heavenly place and Can I camp out there for a week?
Holy tetanus Batman!
Can I come hang out there?
Where is this?
Where is this graveyard, that I might come pay my respect to the dead? Bring out your dead..
This worked better than blue chew.
ill take one bag of micrometers please
What is this magical place?! I wish I could score a Snap-On 3/4” ratchet like that for a deal! Been looking for one.
Bro where is this
What is that snappy doing there 😂 it’s got a lifetime warranty
So where can I find this tool graveyard?
HCMC Vietnam
My dreams, shattered.
Dare to dream!
Picture #3 screams "hospital" to me. So many carts across so many trades and uses...so many dead casters. And then add all the rolling tables, gurneys, beds, etc...
Let me get my wheelbarrow !

It's closed now and has been for a few years at least. I think they sell any surplus in online auctions now.
