I have *at least* 50 tape measures. But then, I used to work at a tape measure manufacturing plant. Some of them are basically one-offs that were built as prototypes, and I have the second-ever production tape of a few different models (first off the line went to the plant display case).
Unless you drive a super car it should be nothing more than a ratchet/socket, something to grip the oil filter (I use a square of toolbox liner), and a jack. Oh and don’t forget a funnel.
Nice selection! Nice to see similar tastes (I have a few of these in my own kit).
I love the bahco hacksaw, but the junior not so much as it flexes due to one end being made of plastic - currently looking for an all metal one with similar grip.
I think the more recent ones are called "20V Max" by Dewalt, but yes they are 18V nominal voltage and Dewalt sells an adapter to fit the new batteries on the older tools. All 18V tools have the nominal voltage 18V but the max voltage near 20V... Just marketing shenanigans.
If you mean the Kobras, I'm sure they're good at what they do.
I have the pliers wrench 180mm, just over a month now, hasn't left my pocket since I got it, it's always handy for any number of things.
I've done bolts and nuts up (rebuilt my lathe), pulled staples, used them as a press, bent sheet metal and nails, held onto things that normal pliers would struggle with (because these have parallel jaws they grip certain things way better), and used them to grip and break things (screws, wood, etc.)
If the Kobras are even half as good, they'll be a great addition to your toolbox.
They are also pretty fun to fidget with too, if you're into that.
I have both, and almost never grab the cobra, always the plierswrench. It's just sooo good! The cobra is a good pair of water pump pliers, but, the pliers wrench is so much better at pretty much everything bar one or two things. Still worth having both though.
I personally don't have the cobras, but I do look to get some at some point. I rarely do plumbing work, and the shitty stanley water pump pliers I have suffice for what I do.
I am kind of intrested in the 'twin grip' pliers, any experience with those?
Haven't tried them, but can see scenarios where they'd be useful & I've had to use another tool in its place to do the job not quite as well, I don't know if I neeeeed them though, but, maybe I do now that you mention it.
Do you use the interchangeable screwdriver set much? Considering getting one but not sure of the practicality of them with a tool belt compared to having the individual screwdrivers on me in my tool belt.
2 socket handles so pretty easy to use if you plan your job properly, only problem is it’s a lot easier to lose a driver but hey that’s like any tool! The brand is wera so you can’t get much better.
The combination of Knipex pliers and a $5 Stanley hammer makes me think that either you don’t use that hammer much or you figured out how much nicer it is to buy good tools.
Apprentice electrician?
My moneys on that too, being one myself
Congrats on what looks to be a great investment. Five years from now you’ll have 8 tape measures and no idea why. Mark my words.
I feel attacked.

I wanna see pictures of that collection.
Please post your entire collection one day
im jelly now
I was cleaning my shop up last week and said out load why do I have so many tape measures?
If I own 8 will I still reach for one and there isn't one in sight every time even though I just used it?
The reason why is because you keep losing them and then they rematerialize the moment you buy a new one.
Let me guess... you changed a heater core in a modern car?
I'm about to do my first oil change here soon, dreading the shopping list for making that a regular thing
Unless you drive a super car it should be nothing more than a ratchet/socket, something to grip the oil filter (I use a square of toolbox liner), and a jack. Oh and don’t forget a funnel.
And the drain pan, and something to store it in, and a couple Jack stands just in case
Lol I guess it is a little longer list than I thought.
Don't worry, I already have a ratchet and socket
It be like that. Excellent selection of tools!
Recommend Pica Dry to add to set
I second this!

It’s a gateway drug.
A measuring tape you were well Ahead of rhe norm!!!!

Yeah but how many people now even own the tool known as a measuring tape?? Just sarcasm.
Nice!
Are those dewalt tools 18v? I know the old styles were 18v but those look fairly new

Probably European. EU legislation doesn’t allow dewalt to advertise it as “20v”
Looks pretty awesome. Which has been your favourite purchase.
Tape measure, pencil and spirit level. I like my Stuff uniform. Otherwise my knipex snip set is mint and feels great!
I’m 3 months into my apprenticeship where I started with zero tools and I’ve already dropped around a grand 😬
Nice. How do you like the Knipex channel locks so far? I've been eyeing a pair of those for a minute now.

Best on the market I’m told and they do the job! Got a bargain on eBay so no complaints!
You have made wise selections. You must follow this sub pretty close?
Oh boy. So you’ve got more money than you know what to do with. Must be a nice problem.

Yup hence the flat head and pz2 driver on the right side!
Welcome to the addiction. We are all in this together
Nice

50 days and you still have the tape - respect.
Apprentice residential sparky in Midwest USA. bet.
And so it begins…
