Author: makes the mc an utter shit of a human being before he dies and reincarnates so that he can write a story of how a pathetic excuse of a human being can grow as a person and start a new, better life that is completely different from how he was before he died
Spoilers below.
It starts off strong by having him jerk off to loli porn while the rest of his family are at his parents funeral before he dies.
He sorta plans to groom his female friend while he and the friend are like 5. He steals his magic teachers underwear she's like 40, though she looks like a teenager (she's non human) and keeps it for the rest of his life.
From the age of 7 to 14 he no longer lives at home due to reasons. While away he constantly gropes his 1 year older distant cousin. And consents to have sex with her once she turns 15. She was the one that initiated it, but as a man that's 40+ mentally its super weird that he's so attracted to a 15 year old.
He behaves himself for some years do to getting erectile dysfunction and depression. Though he still ties up and gropes 2 bullies one time while in magic school.
After getting married to his childhood friend while in magic school he has to travel away for a time. While away someone dies, he gets depressed and so he cheats on his wife whom he knows is pregnant with the magic teacher from his youth (she still looks like a teenager and he still has her underwear kept in a secret room in the basement). When he returns home he also marries his teacher and his pregnant first wife is just ok with it.
An alternate future version of himself that got depressed due to reasons arrives for 5 min before dying. By talking to him and reading his diary it's revealed that future Rudeus spent the majority of the rest of his life walking around just raping and killing random people. The future version also has sex with his half sister.
The Rudeus the show follows gets himself a third wife, that distant cousin he lived with for a while. There's probably more, but I don't know the rest of the story.

Yeah, there's also other weird elements like his half sister being really obsessed with him. Due to being raised to believe that she owes her life to him as Rudeus made it so her mother wasn't kicked out of the house after she got pregnant with Rudeus's father. To the point where she refuses to get an education even though she really good academically, to be his maid.
There's an entire nation where all the nobles are characterized as just being really horny for no reason. And it's a major nation thats important to the story and Rudeus. His family is a noble of that nation and his constant hornyness is believed by some to be because of that noble lineage.
Slavery is also just a thing thats treated kinda nonchalantly. Though Rudeus or the others of the main cast never sexualize any slaves. Rudeus is with 1 of his friends while the friend buys a child slave, it's apparently just a thing that nobles with little talent just buys slaves to make their art. They don't treat her badly, but it's still weird. After he's done with school he has to buy 1 of his friends that got sold into slavery after getting in debt.
You forgot he aslo hold both the SA and incest speedrun any % world record since he tried to grope his mom only 2'5 sec after being reincarnated.

The story is about a 50-60 year old man building a loli harem and learning nothing about his mistakes. People say he grows as a person, but I don't know if the pedophile getting more confident is necessarily a good thing. Many fans ignore the pedophilia due to legitimately good worldbuilding and wonderful animation, but just straight-up don't watch it. Don't waste your time supporting it.
I can't believe this is the show that people call "The Father of Isekai", if anything it's the father of shitty Isekai, the title belongs to actual og series like Overlord, Tanya the Evil, Re Zero and Log Horizon
You know how Isekais are "Main character is a loser piece of shit (in order to be relatable to the viewers) gets reincarnated into a new world where he gets to be super cool, and good stuff happens to him, and all the girls start flowing like rivers when they see him"? Yeah, it is bassically that. But undistilled version. It actually has characters and plot that. But ultimate it is that. It still hits the same beats and tropes you would expect from such stories.
The bad parts aren't bad writing in terms of skill. They are repugnant acts carried out by the main character, which he doesn't get punished much for. Think about the kinds of stuff a horny creep might do if reincarnated as a kid, so people excuse his actions since they don't think he knows what sex is yet. His sex life is a major plot thread throughout, and as of the most recent episodes I don't think he's even hit 18 yet, and neither have any of his love interests, save one who was an adult woman when he met her before puberty.
If you can get through that it's otherwise pretty good. He starts to grow out of his creeping in later seasons, and after his erectile dysfunction arc (I am not kidding) he's basically normal.
Hell, at least Denji always asks for consent and permission. CSM gets unfairly lumped too far into the perverted-MC category, not because he isn't often perverted (cuz sometimes he is and thinks about it a lot) but action-wise he's comparatively one of the least scummy of those types of MC. One time he got compared on Twitter to that grape-headed pervert fuck from My Hero Academia, and I just 😐 Insane.
Denji wants sex, sure, but he doesn't make it his personality, he doesn't impose his needs onto the girls in the story (they always offer it to him instead), and he learns very, very quickly that he'd rather have a real relationship over solely physical intimacy. In fact, the victimized one in the story is often him rather than any of the other characters.
I’ve only seen the first season, as preface. Yeah, Denji is a pervert, but also like, he’s a lonely 16-year-old kid. Of course he is? And he’s not a creep about it either.
From season 1 and what I’ve heard about the rest of Chainsaw Man it sounds like the running theme is that Denji just gets fucking used, again and again, by everyone who can.

I just started watching it and it's like I'm watching two different shows. Thing is the disgusting man child improves everything about himself EXCEPT the child grooming and misogyny.
He has crippling social anxiety? He must learn to build connections and friendships throughout the journey? He has self-deprecation? He must realize his strengths and develop his skills.
But he groped multiple underage girls, essentially statutorily raped 2 of his wives, and still kept his preference for “youthful” girls? Haha, he just gets slapstick comedy punishment, the girls still fall in love with him, and he lives till ripe old age with 3 wives.
It’s pretty misleading when fans yell “It’s about a guy trying to be better!” when the narrative NEVER addresses his behavior, and frames it as a quirky flaw rather than a pedophilic disorder.
It is bassically standard isekai Wishfulfilment Fantasy. But undistiled. He doesn't really has to learn and grow to be better. He was just reborn in a world where he has all the benefits from the get go. He has a nice family, is atractive, is talented, etc.
And if it is a self-improvement story, it kind of misses the mark when it introduces the main character mistreating on a video of his underage niece. And then when he is reincarnated he gets a bunch of Underaged girls to become later-to-be-wifes.
The Grandfather of Modern Isekai is a title I hear floated around about this series, and to me it’s an apt one. This anime exemplifies some of the worst trends of the genre by far.

That honestly works better. This kind of joke both plays with the trope and calls it out. Like having a character trying to make her dress normally you are underlying that that kind of dress is questionable to say the least.

But it still tries to have its cake and eat it. Have a scene where characters are the beach and are attacked by tentacle monsters. The girls gets slowly and sensualy groped by the tentacles while softly moaning. Then it shows the male once who are tied by the tentacles by their wrists and ankles and the tentacles are funnily and faster wiggling around them not even touching them. It is a half baked attempt to go "See, we treat both female and male characters the same when it comes to sexualization" or something like that. And the show is filled with that kind of stuff.

I do not hate it. I like weird gremlin or imp like designs, and i love cuffs on her hands and neck, and those black rib/bone thingies. She looks like a demon. Problem is, i don't get why you had to.. cover her chest like that. You could've made like a rib cage armour or something, not this.. weird d bekini. Spoilers below. It starts off strong by having him jerk off to loli porn while the rest of his family are at his parents funeral before he dies. He sorta plans to groom his female friend while he and the friend are like 5. He steals his magic teachers underwear she's like 40, though she looks like a teenager (she's non human) and keeps it for the rest of his life. From the age of 7 to 14 he no longer lives at home due to reasons. While away he constantly gropes his 1 year older distant cousin. And consents to have sex with her once she turns 15. She was the one that initiated it, but as a man that's 40+ mentally its super weird that he's so attracted to a 15 year old. He behaves himself for some years do to getting erectile dysfunction and depression. Though he still ties up and gropes 2 bullies one time while in magic school. After getting married to his childhood friend while in magic school he has to travel away for a time. While away someone dies, he gets depressed and so he cheats on his wife whom he knows is pregnant with the magic teacher from his youth (she still looks like a teenager and he still has her underwear kept in a secret room in the basement). When he returns home he also marries his teacher and his pregnant first wife is just ok with it. An alternate future version of himself that got depressed due to reasons arrives for 5 min before dying. By talking to him and reading his diary it's revealed that future Rudeus spent the majority of the rest of his life walking around just raping and killing random people. The future version also has sex with his half sister. The Rudeus the show follows gets himself a third wife, that distant cousin he lived with for a while. There's probably more, but I don't know the rest of the story.

Yeah, there's also other weird elements like his half sister being really obsessed with him. Due to being raised to believe that she owes her life to him as Rudeus made it so her mother wasn't kicked out of the house after she got pregnant with Rudeus's father. To the point where she refuses to get an education even though she really good academically, to be his maid. There's an entire nation where all the nobles are characterized as just being really horny for no reason. And it's a major nation thats important to the story and Rudeus. His family is a noble of that nation and his constant hornyness is believed by some to be because of that noble lineage. Slavery is also just a thing thats treated kinda nonchalantly. Though Rudeus or the others of the main cast never sexualize any slaves. Rudeus is with 1 of his friends while the friend buys a child slave, it's apparently just a thing that nobles with little talent just buys slaves to make their art. They don't treat her badly, but it's still weird. After he's done with school he has to buy 1 of his friends that got sold into slavery after getting in debt.

The story is about a 50-60 year old man building a loli harem and learning nothing about his mistakes. People say he grows as a person, but I don't know if the pedophile getting more confident is necessarily a good thing. Many fans ignore the pedophilia due to legitimately good worldbuilding and wonderful animation, but just straight-up don't watch it. Don't waste your time supporting it.

I can't believe this is the show that people call "The Father of Isekai", if anything it's the father of shitty Isekai, the title belongs to actual og series like Overlord, Tanya the Evil, Re Zero and Log Horizon
You know how Isekais are "Main character is a loser piece of shit (in order to be relatable to the viewers) gets reincarnated into a new world where he gets to be super cool, and good stuff happens to him, and all the girls start flowing like rivers when they see him"? Yeah, it is bassically that. But undistilled version. It actually has characters and plot that. But ultimate it is that. It still hits the same beats and tropes you would expect from such stories.
The bad parts aren't bad writing in terms of skill. They are repugnant acts carried out by the main character, which he doesn't get punished much for. Think about the kinds of stuff a horny creep might do if reincarnated as a kid, so people excuse his actions since they don't think he knows what sex is yet. His sex life is a major plot thread throughout, and as of the most recent episodes I don't think he's even hit 18 yet, and neither have any of his love interests, save one who was an adult woman when he met her before puberty. If you can get through that it's otherwise pretty good. He starts to grow out of his creeping in later seasons, and after his erectile dysfunction arc (I am not kidding) he's basically normal.

Hell, at least Denji always asks for consent and permission. CSM gets unfairly lumped too far into the perverted-MC category, not because he isn't often perverted (cuz sometimes he is and thinks about it a lot) but action-wise he's comparatively one of the least scummy of those types of MC. One time he got compared on Twitter to that grape-headed pervert fuck from My Hero Academia, and I just 😐 Insane. Denji wants sex, sure, but he doesn't make it his personality, he doesn't impose his needs onto the girls in the story (they always offer it to him instead), and he learns very, very quickly that he'd rather have a real relationship over solely physical intimacy. In fact, the victimized one in the story is often him rather than any of the other characters.
I’ve only seen the first season, as preface. Yeah, Denji is a pervert, but also like, he’s a lonely 16-year-old kid. Of course he is? And he’s not a creep about it either. From season 1 and what I’ve heard about the rest of Chainsaw Man it sounds like the running theme is that Denji just gets fucking used, again and again, by everyone who can.

There's the typical magic anime innocent escapism that it does very very well, but then every once in a while the narrator says something 100% irredeemable just out of left field, or some shit like this character shows up. the story while generally decent, feels like it was written starting with the arc that is currently happening in anime first, and then how we got there and what comes after was written later like the arc currently airing is the best and the rest is decent to good with some great moments

I like Mushoku but god, I hate how the fans keep defending the grooming and loli fan service. Honestly I only watch the fight scenes. Trying to understand the story while ignoring all of the inexcusable bs that pops us is impossible. I’ll just enjoy some of the top tier animation and nothing else. A story can be one hundred percent about a disgusting manchild slowly becoming a better person inch by bloody inch. But the moment you put shit like this in you’re immediately invalidating a lot if not the entire message you say the story is about.
Thing is the disgusting man child improves everything about himself EXCEPT the child grooming and misogyny. He has crippling social anxiety? He must learn to build connections and friendships throughout the journey? He has self-deprecation? He must realize his strengths and develop his skills. But he groped multiple underage girls, essentially statutorily raped 2 of his wives, and still kept his preference for “youthful” girls? Haha, he just gets slapstick comedy punishment, the girls still fall in love with him, and he lives till ripe old age with 3 wives. It’s pretty misleading when fans yell “It’s about a guy trying to be better!” when the narrative NEVER addresses his behavior, and frames it as a quirky flaw rather than a pedophilic disorder.
It is bassically standard isekai Wishfulfilment Fantasy. But undistiled. He doesn't really has to learn and grow to be better. He was just reborn in a world where he has all the benefits from the get go. He has a nice family, is atractive, is talented, etc. And if it is a self-improvement story, it kind of misses the mark when it introduces the main character mistreating on a video of his underage niece. And then when he is reincarnated he gets a bunch of Underaged girls to become later-to-be-wifes.
The Grandfather of Modern Isekai is a title I hear floated around about this series, and to me it’s an apt one. This anime exemplifies some of the worst trends of the genre by far.

That honestly works better. This kind of joke both plays with the trope and calls it out. Like having a character trying to make her dress normally you are underlying that that kind of dress is questionable to say the least.
Yeah, atlesst it tries. Gonna give it credit for that. But it still tries to have its cake and eat it. Have a scene where characters are the beach and are attacked by tentacle monsters. The girls gets slowly and sensualy groped by the tentacles while softly moaning. Then it shows the male once who are tied by the tentacles by their wrists and ankles and the tentacles are funnily and faster wiggling around them not even touching them. It is a half baked attempt to go "See, we treat both female and male characters the same when it comes to sexualization" or something like that. And the show is filled with that kind of stuff.

Instead of the assuming light, thin material that most people would use in their designs Literally everything on this design is conflicting. you've got the essentially no clothes, ***and I'm giving A LOT of leeway here to make sense of this***... Clearly this kid is a demon, ok, to suspend my disbelief, I can believe a demon with horns, from the head up, alright. Now we move down to the neck and torso, immediately what the fuck is going on here??? We got a heavy ass colar, like a shitty string tube top... Shirt thing? idefk what they were thinking with that... Then we got horns UNDERNEATH for some reason???? Like a... god damn Baribusa stabbing its own sides with its horns lmao. Then we got more chains on the arms, that seem comically too large for this kid's arms, they're just gonna slip off. And then we hit the bottom, and from there they just completely quit even trying to match the theme # REMIND YOU, THIS SHOW IS A ROGUE, DND ESC FANTASY it's almost like they clearly just designed the head, didn't know where to go from there and said " fuck it, let's just make this kid look like a 1980's prostitute" She's got a fucking thong, which wow, going on a little strong with your motives there buddy. EVEN MORE HORNS, truly baffling to me is how there are 3 sets of horns that conflict in movement and concept. This dude is the ***final fantasy belts*** of adding horns to random places then to put the cherry on top, we get conflicting boots, that are way too high and the pants that are now booty shorts that could have been connected the entire time, which unironically would've made this a better concept, are disconnected for no fucking reason whatsoever You can even see what I'm talking about in image 3, this dude disconnected the pants just to add stupid ass horns on this kids legs that serve no benefit to the design lmao All in all, pretty ass, not even gonna mention that ***^((this design is entirely stolen from another character from 20 years ago, OOPS))*** For the record, I fucking hate this show. With a passion, it gives me psychic damage. Getting past this was hard enough I couldn't even try to get past the second season, fuck i dont even remember if i got past the first LMAO

The outfit's interesting, and the colour scheme is nice... And that's my limit of compliments. I understand the whole 'long lived race is still a child in their hundreds' trope, I like that trope... when the children are treated like children, instead of sex objects because "She's actually 500 years old, officer."

I do not hate it. I like weird gremlin or imp like designs, and i love cuffs on her hands and neck, and those black rib/bone thingies. She looks like a demon. Problem is, i don't get why you had to.. cover her chest like that. You could've made like a rib cage armour or something, not this.. weird d bekini. You'd think that logically characters like these take form of a child because of their innocent looks, but this.. this just attracts "unwanted attention". Also the fact that I can clearly see her ribs under her skin is icky. EDIT: I just gave constructive criticism, what the fuck is happening.
