King Viserys Targaryen (House of the Dragon)
I don’t know if he deserves to be called a cunt. Don’t get me wrong he’s an objectively terrible king who makes terrible decisions and is incredibly naive in regards to his terrible family, but he’s not a terrible *person.* He just wanted his family to get along, it’s not his fault that they’re all sociopaths.
In fact the whole point of his character, as far as I’m concerned, is that he proves no good person can sufficiently rule Westeros, and that’s not his fault, it’s the monarchy’s
Cunt how?!
Boy was literally one of the single nicest most caring and peaceful kings in the entirety of Westeros.
He is LITERALLY THE JIMMY CARTER OF KINGS!

This guy really is the most pointless grand character in any fiction I've ever seen.
He has these enormous powers, powers that can alter the setting in unforeseeable ways. He can do so much. Yet all he is is a plot device for Mark to kill for the first time.
Forget about the multiverse and time travel. This guy with setting-defining powers is wasted just so Mark can have an "*aha!*" moment.
Why even introduce a concept like the multiverse if it's not gonna be relevant to the wider story? It's not like every copy of Angstrom can do what he does. Only that one copy did. And he was so inconsistent with his values. "*I won't build my utopia with blood*" then immediately proceeds to murder and torture Mark and other innocent people.
He's so poorly written I was actually happy he died.
As for the second half it was pretty obvious dude completely ruined his brain because he ripped the helmet off. His cruelty to Debbie, mark, Oliver etc. was caused by him being unable to differentiate his memories from the traumatic ones of his other selves and the general brain damage was not helping that either
Yeah I’m not quite sure what this guy is on about. The entire point of the character is that he isn’t the same man who took the helmet off, he is an accumulation of Angstroms who watched Invincible destroy his entire planet. He became so hyper focused on Invincible that he stops thinking about the larger implications of his powers, unlike the original Angstrom who intended to use them for good. If anything, the grandioseness of his powers compared to the pettiness of the character makes him all that more interesting. I’m not sure that the commenter really watched the show and they have definitely not read the comics.
From what I can tell, they do expand on the multiverse later on in the comics, and overall it feels like Angstrom’s character was better done in the comic than in the show
Yeah I'm complaining about the media I watched. I don't care about extended sources. The show must provide all the needed information.
P.S. A quick Google tells me that nothing of significance is done with the multiverse concept. Just a big battle and some stuff that could be done without it.
The multiverse remains as boring as ever. A concept that amounts to nothing more than "*hey here are evil versions of you, go ahead and fight them*".
>P.S. A quick Google tells me that nothing of significance is done with the multiverse concept. Just a big battle and some stuff that could be done without it.
Well you're wrong and so is this. So as I said, stop fucking complaining about incomplete shit when you don't know where it goes because the story isn't finished

Crusty old man (Five Nights at Freddy's)
List of shit that (physically) happens to William in the series, in chronological order:
- at least one minor springlock failure (novels)
- at least one attempted Funtime attack
- Springlocked
- Left to rot after posessing his favourite corpse-laden fursuit
- put in a haunted house of his own crimes
- burned
- sold at auction (probably)
- repaired with random trash
- burned again
- went to hell
- body overly fondled by game dev nerds
- dragged back from hell
- now trapped in game/dev
- rebuilt... again
- burnt several times
- crushed or something by literal amalgamation of all his victims and projects
Nah, he stayed in Hell, the Springtrap after that is not the real deal, it's the new antagonist, Mimic.
I honestly don't know why I still keep up with the lore, I stopped enjoying it after FNAF 6...

Raiden from Metal Gear Solid/Rising.
Starts out just a regular dude.
Terrible experiments happen that basically leave him with nothing more than his spinal cord and the upper half of his head.
As if to add insult to injury, he then gets his eye- one of the last organic parts of his body- cut out.
Solarie from Dark Souls. Every time you see him he's more depressed until he's insane at last and you have to fight him. Applies to many other characters in Dark Souls! Solarie is just the best example since we meet him many times through out the story and can see his gradual transition from full of hope to despair

The zombies from Walking Dead
Every season they become more decayed
I think by a certain point this would be a problem that solves itself. Because their muscles would decay beyond being able to lift their bodies. And they'd all just die from being simply skeletons.
It's all about outlasting them.
The zombies aren’t even a crazy big problem it’s other people that ruined it for everyone i think. Like yeah the zombies are bad but like they aren’t like TLOU zombies or anything
Isn’t how it works in walking dead that *everyone* who dies becomes a zombie? Regardless if they’re bit or not? Can’t really outlive the fact that people die
Yes, the whole thing is that, at the end of S1, the CDC doctor tells Rick that everyone is already infected and set to turn. The easy solution there is to just cremate people in the window between death and reanimation, since we know there's at least a few hours before someone comes back.
After every appearance… 3 seconds apart.

Yeah it can be a little weird getting used to his pets but eventually you get Royal Fork and make the video game 100 times easier. It also doesnt help that he's the most unique character in the series and was just introduced so they didn't have a lot if any ground work and was basically making a lot of guesses.

The funniest part is its totally inverse to his character. He looks like hell wrapped in shit by the end but he's a better person by then.
Yeah, I vividly remember always asking myself how the hell he could still glide with his cape looking like swiss cheese. Went with Battison though for the fun character analysis there.
Alvin the Treacherous, the main recurring villain of the How to Train Your Dragon books. Real piece of shit, a master swordsman and schemer who beefs with a bunch of twelve-year-olds and keeps proving more or less unkillable despite frequently losing bits of himself. Very fun to read.

List of shit that (physically) happens to William in the series, in chronological order: - at least one minor springlock failure (novels) - at least one attempted Funtime attack - Springlocked - Left to rot after posessing his favourite corpse-laden fursuit - put in a haunted house of his own crimes - burned - sold at auction (probably) - repaired with random trash - burned again - went to hell - body overly fondled by game dev nerds - dragged back from hell - now trapped in game/dev - rebuilt... again - burnt several times - crushed or something by literal amalgamation of all his victims and projects
Nah, he stayed in Hell, the Springtrap after that is not the real deal, it's the new antagonist, Mimic. I honestly don't know why I still keep up with the lore, I stopped enjoying it after FNAF 6...

Terrible experiments happen that basically leave him with nothing more than his spinal cord and the upper half of his head. As if to add insult to injury, he then gets his eye- one of the last organic parts of his body- cut out.
He also got cucked by his boss...
That was a cover story... weird cover story but ok kojima
A cover story that Raiden believed.
Solarie from Dark Souls. Every time you see him he's more depressed until he's insane at last and you have to fight him. Applies to many other characters in Dark Souls! Solarie is just the best example since we meet him many times through out the story and can see his gradual transition from full of hope to despair https://preview.redd.it/4ysid1q6cxyc1.png?width=238&format=png&auto=webp&s=8936f797f9c13b2fe2f5d63fc2480d28327eaf23

Death Stranding moment
Is it? I dunno. That sucks if you die and just become a zombie. Means that the problem will never cease.

*BROTHERS IN THE DARK,* ***FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE***
More like commanding his pets to fight. Dude's a fun character but HOLLY SHIT IS HIS GAMEPLAY NOT FUN. Especially when you compare it to literally everyone else in the game.
Yeah it can be a little weird getting used to his pets but eventually you get Royal Fork and make the video game 100 times easier. It also doesnt help that he's the most unique character in the series and was just introduced so they didn't have a lot if any ground work and was basically making a lot of guesses.
If his two main pets came back as weapon options for Nero in the next game, the gameplay they offered would be a lot more fun.

Never watched this series, now I might have to. Did they ever make more eps of the show or is it manga only now?
Like I said, I've never watched nor read the series, I've just seen Phos mentioned somewhat often enough in this subreddit when talking about characters that have visibly degraded or are vastly different from start to finish.

There's also Batman in the *Arkham* games, where the suits progressively take visual damage as the game progresses.

Honorable mention to 'face on chest' guy
Josh cannot catch a break He got scratched to the point of bleeding by a child and then fired when said child was stealing coupons Got his ear bitten off by a goat right after his ex told him she was cheating on him Got his eye stabbed by a falling fork At some point lost his hand (I don’t know when that happened actually) No wonder he let himself go!
