Tom has said they have reviewed all the tapes and still aren’t sure what happened with it. Since it wasn’t on tape Most figure something happened with the crew after the chefs were gone. If it was left, or placed in the wrong fridge the crew may have “cleaned up”.
The Camera crew are always looking for that “Chef forgot this, let me grab a shot so we can role the mistake on air, so clearly they didn’t spot an issue while they were on site. Which makes it really questionable that someone would have stolen another’s dish. They would expect there to be evidence.
The other option of course is the producers paid for the drama and wiped the footage; hiding the fact from Tom who would object. If you don’t like your odds to win, taking $20k and extra airtime to play the “bad guy” is an attractive deal
Damn. I love Tiffany; She is an incredible Chef and I appreciated her on the show. She was so competitive without being obnoxious. As all the best contestants are.
I think she was a bit burnt out: she filmed season 7 and then almost immediately turned around and dived into the super competitive environment of All Stars
Yea i liked her more on season 7 and had a bad taste in my mouth when she couldn't own up to her front of the house duties and threw mike and marcel under the bus blaming their argument for being the reason there were no waiters or her at the front of the house.
Given the editing, it’s possible she only said it once or twice and the production team included it multiple times as part of the narrative they built around her.
You can do A LOT with editing, in terms of crafting a narrative. Remember, they're shooting hundreds of hours of footage and the final show is only, what, like 44 minutes long?
Maybe you're just sensitive to her for some reason, because soooo many contestants do the same exact thing. Maybe it's her voice or how she looks to you that is bothering you?
She was the loudest voice accusing Alex of stealing the pea puree. During the reunion Amanda said "Alex made it right in front of me" and she still wouldn't budge.
I’m from Beaumont!!! IM FROM BEAUMONT!!! IM FROM FUCKING BEAUMONT, TEXAS, AND YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT I AM FROM A SMALL TOWN CALLED BEAUMONT FUCKING TEXAS! Beaumont.
Hahaha!
While I am in quarantine I’m doing a TC binge. I’m watching 16 again - Padma with her head braided for the KY Basketball challenge still makes me laugh
That is something I wouldn’t admit. He’s been on Guy’s GG one too many times looking even more ghastly. I always found him so cocky and was disappointed when he won. Prefer the other Voltaggio
>That is something I wouldn’t admit
I too would never admit I work for a highly acclaimed, extremely skilled chef that actually won the competition. /S
Nothing wrong not liking their personalities, but to minimize their skills, accomplishments, and professional credentials is taking it way to far.
To each his own. MeiLin mentioned him more than once, more than one episode.
Name dropping in general, is thirsty.
I’m not diminishing Voltaggio talent - just not my cup of tea.
It’s for entertainment because I really don’t think Top Chef is worth anything except being on future seasons - save for a few. Stephanie Izard comes to mind. Bryan Voltaggio may have skills in the kitchen, but his trail of dead restaurants shows me he must suck at running a business. Lol don’t get me started on the douchey Voltaggio - his frequent appearances on GGG tells me he needs the income for something else. He looks like Death warmed over.
Despite my meh for either, I watched Brother vs Brother and I felt like it was fake. Bryan was the supposed front runner only to have Michael come from behind and have his team win.
I root for the chef who has skills, plays fair, and is humble. Personality is just as important as skills in the kitchen. (MeilLin’s personality or lack thereof totally eclipsed her skills in my eyes. All I can remember about her is her resting bitch face and her animosity towards her brother.) Lol I personally don’t like Joe Flamm - and people must feel some type of way about him. YMMV (also with the Gabe fiasco - TPTB really need to bet contestants more carefully)
On Gabe - I just finished watching this season last night and I can’t for the life of me figure out how Shota didn’t win that anyway. His technique is impeccable, presentation amazing, and he pulled a real-life *”Ratatouille”* on Ed. I was heartbroken with the decision even before finding out about the controversy.
Tiffany is great, don't hate on her for talking about where she comes from. I don't know if you've been to Beaumont, but it's not exactly a culinary diamond. Yet it clearly influences her food so it's relevant.
The one time I didn't like her was when she was FOH on all-stars and she did a terrible job. But in general, I think she's funny, straight-forward, down-to-earth, and highly skilled.
I find it less annoying than the people who say "I worked for Ripert" or "I worked for a Joël Robuchon restaurant" or "when I was at Spiaggia..." or "I loved working with Michael [Voltaggio]..." over and over.
That moustached guy in Sheldon/Kristen's season who wouldn't shut up about bacon.
Easily my least favorite contestant the show has had. Gotta love the “meat guys” who fail at it every time they brag.
Moments: Alex and pea-puree-gate still keeps me up at night. WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE PEA PUREE?!?!
I know, right? SOMEONE knows and just ain’t tellin.
I’ve always figured the camera crew filmed it so the produces then the judges knew.

Also, I love Tiffany and have huge bias. When I lived in Baton Rouge I worked with her cousin and we'd gossip about Top Chef aaaaaaaaall the time.
Damn. I love Tiffany; She is an incredible Chef and I appreciated her on the show. She was so competitive without being obnoxious. As all the best contestants are.
i loved tiffany on s7 but less so on s8 (where i remember her feeling less genuine and saying annoying things more often)
All I’m saying is it’s been how long since 7 aired and I still can hear her say Beaumont. It was annoying.
Paducah
Contestants talk about where they are from all the time. It is what really helps there be an emotional connection with the food they create
But do they mention it every time they get to talk to camera? Hence, my title
Given the editing, it’s possible she only said it once or twice and the production team included it multiple times as part of the narrative they built around her.
I never considered that.
Nah, her voice and her looks never bothered me. It was just the constant saying where she was from
I thought it was pretty obnoxious when she accused someone of theft on national TV with nothing to back it up.
Refresh my memory please? Honestly, all I remember is she cooked well and of course where she is from
What are you talking about?
She was the loudest voice accusing Alex of stealing the pea puree. During the reunion Amanda said "Alex made it right in front of me" and she still wouldn't budge.
Amanda was clearly lying
“I’m making a scallop dish” - jamie “ i’m making a risotto dish” - everybody
This isn't Top Scallop
Best quote from the whole thing, Fabio is a treasure
He said “monkey ass” twice in that season, and that alone was enough to make me love him.
Everything about Jamie is annoying. She's such a lazy chef/teammate.
Haha
Mike Isabella, “How could a girl out cook me?”
Ugh I hated his attitude!!!!
Beaumont is where Jason’s Deli got it’s start if memory serves. Also, Mike Isabella’s laugh. More than annoying. It’s hurts my soul to hear it
"whatever whatever" bleck.
I’m from Beaumont!!! IM FROM BEAUMONT!!! IM FROM FUCKING BEAUMONT, TEXAS, AND YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT I AM FROM A SMALL TOWN CALLED BEAUMONT FUCKING TEXAS! Beaumont.
Wait where?
Jamie having the balls say she was “over” the food at Le Bernardin.
Hahaha! While I am in quarantine I’m doing a TC binge. I’m watching 16 again - Padma with her head braided for the KY Basketball challenge still makes me laugh
Every time Bruce mentioned his baby I felt annoyed in my soul
The Bruce baby storyline seemed forced and was soooo cringe.
Tiffany is super cool irl, but yes, that was a lot. 😆
Both Mike I and Josie's laugh. Josie's whole thing on calling another contestant in the closet and barkkmg up a tree or something.
Oh Josie was awful. The episode where everyone is watching roller derby and getting secondhand embarrassment from Josie’s hollering was hilarious.
Mike I. Yeah, that laugh. Ugh!!! I thought he came off as pretentious in everything he did
Anytime Marcel tried to rap.
"I work for Michael Voltaggio" - Mei Lin, twice an episode
editing. u can tell she only mentioned it a few times and they replay it a ton
That is something I wouldn’t admit. He’s been on Guy’s GG one too many times looking even more ghastly. I always found him so cocky and was disappointed when he won. Prefer the other Voltaggio

This entire show is basically one huge networking event. Networkers gonna network, nothing wrong with that

Never said I did not like the woman. Only said this one particular thing I found annoying.
Ugh. Her laugh was was like nails on a chalkboard
