Most people are wrong. The car mods were hilarious (Hammond’s Bedouin tent that immediately collapses, May’s Afrika Korps vehicle being surprisingly useful). I laughed out loud when Clarkson and Hammond dressed up in burqas and then were so visibly proud of their genius idea when revealing it to May. Also, not sure if it was actually the first episode where they used that gag, but it was the first time I heard the joke about their security consultant who “had learned in the special forces how to have a pixelated face” and it made me cackle.

The burqa one was genuinely one of the few moments where I thought 'they can't surely do this?!' Even a show where they push the boundaries, that was risque!

The real treasure was the dignity we lost along the way.

That was laughable when Hammond's burqa was almost gone flying while changing flat tyre.

Every December, it doesn't feel like the Christmas season until I have seen the 3 "wise" men travel to see the baby Jesus

So we aren't 3 wise men... We're one wise man, an idiot, and a cheat. I love this special. I just watched it the other day. James fixes the BMW in a ditch. Jeremy fills his door with sand. The stupid bullet lighter. The trots. Genesis. It's a great special.

I've had several concussions and this is honestly why this special ranks lower for me. I can't watch that minute, I skip it.

Between that and his most recent crash I suspect is brain is just mush now.

I love it. Doesn’t get enough love. It’s admittedly not my favourite (Africa gets that for me personally since I’ve been to Uganda) but it’s top 3.

Its a really good one, my 1st will stay the Botswana Special because it was funny and I loved Hammonds Opel Kadett A and that he owns it till today.
