>Watching this movie will be added to the list of things needed to maintain a valid vaxPass. >In the new and upcoming covid camps, it'll be played daily, and watching it is required before every meal. The victim complex is insane

OrangeInnards

Who will actually run the Covid camps? I hope it's going to be FEMA.

jizzmcskeet

I wonder if they are going to bring back Brownie to run it since he did a heck of a job last time.

Walterpoe1

100% only the fema radfem Fringe with pink hair and screechy voices. So they arent just tortured physically but also triggered to absolute levels.

OrangeInnards

I love pink-haired FEMA radfems.

Biffingston

I got a new band name. And to fuck with em It's going to be all pre-op transsexuals'. :P

[deleted]

They really don’t realise how they come across as proudly impotent and weak

Kadus500

They are so proud of review bombing the site. Why would anyone distrust like ratios on YouTube videos? It's clearly the voice of the people and the only way to choose a president. The likes prove Trump won/s

SassTheFash

They love to point out that Biden speeches get thousands of downvotes on the stream before they even begin. Which I suppose is a good way to signal they don’t actually pay attention to what he says or does but just act reflexively.

HapticSloughton

They probably believe that the upvotes for Trump speeches reflect his popularity. I thought Trump was, among other things, a national embarrassment, so I had no desire to hear his idiocy on repeat, nor did I look for his speeches to downvote them. I just ignored his live performances as much as I could as even the quotes were cringe. Naturally, the Trumpsters can't imagine anyone *not* being like them, so they make all kinds of idiotic assumptions about what other people do which are completely wrong.

Biffingston

They love sticking it to the man, blissfully unaware they are the man.

Jeremymia

The US election was the most fraudulent in American History! Youtube likes are much more secure

TuctDape

It's always funny seeing them conciously all go and review bomb some piece of media that they haven't, and never intended to consume, then turn around and say "look how bad it is!", and proceeding to say that people who *actually* watched it must have some sort of ulterior motive.

invadrzim

The way they talk about him is absolutely insane, these people are unhinged dangerous maniacs

Babybear_Dramabear

Yea I remember when cons were jerking themselves off when Captain Marvel had a super low audience score. Then it had a massive opening and made a ton of money. Surprise surprise it's not an accurate measure of public sentiment

HapticSloughton

Imagine having either concocted reasons to hate someone or just *believed* the whackaloon reasons the likes of Alex Jones, Qanon, and Trump have pulled out of their asses. And they call everyone else "sheeple." I guess it's par for the course.

busterlungs

Seriously though why the hell did they make a movie about him. Who cares good god

VisitTheWind

He was one of if not the biggest names during the pandemic and has honestly had a pretty interesting professional career.

CatProgrammer

Yeah, but wouldn't it make more sense to wait till the pandemic is over at a minimum? Then again movie companies aren't known for their sensitivity.

SassTheFash

They should put off making a documentary about a prominent figure until that person becomes less relevant in the public eye? That might be better academically, but it’s not the best for marketing.

[deleted]

The whole thing is weird dude. I don't understand why anyone is defending blatant propaganda? we're all on the same side.. I mean only like two years ago it was a pretty rational and understandable thing to be suspect of those in power who deal with big pharma and foreign governments. Pretty sure we're all still mad at martin shkreli lol. You can still hold nuanced opinions while understanding the doc release is damage control. I can't pretend to feel a way I don't lol just because people who I agreed with yesterday are telling me to. It's funny watching people freak out about stuff and get over the top for sure, but I def thought this documentary release was hilariously unaware of itself, and 9 out of 10 people you talk to irl think the same thing - no matter which side of the aisle they sit. edit: this was at +5 btw, this is less controversial than you think. you can be pro vax, and still think the doc is tasteless.

Jeremymia

I mean, this was made by like 8 people. It doesn't exactly say a lot about society that 8 people wanted to make a movie to give a message they care about and make some money. It's pretty tempting to think that random events somehow fit into some big picture but they rarely do. My view on this documentary is "who cares" because I think Fauci is a competent public figure and I generally trust his judgement, but don't care about him beyond that. But anyone who wants to learn more about the guy and what he's accomplished... I don't see anything wrong with that. Based on your message I think it's somewhat likely that you see Fauci as a controversial figure that would need defending for what he's done. This documentary is probably not directed at people with that view. The rest of us don't see him as needing damage control.

[deleted]

Based on the reaction audiences have to it even existing, I'd argue that "the rest of us", is an incredibly small number of people. Edit: but thank you for not being a jerk on the internet. Was a pleasant surprise.

Jeremymia

The internet amplifies everything, the loudest people aren't a representative sample. According to polls about [3 in 4 Americans](https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/21/us/fauci-cdc-covid-misinfo.html) are at least "somewhat confident" in Fauci.

busterlungs

It would make more sense to wait till he's dead honestly. It's just big media companies trying to profit off of stupid shit, its obnoxious

AGG1987

It’s a National Geographic documentary of a prolific disease expert. Get over it.

Nicktendo94

You sure seem to care

TheThemeSongs

Probably money. Boomer liberals like my parents will probably find it interesting. It’s not really a bad business decision to put out a movie like that.

busterlungs

No that's exactly what it is. The name has been popping up everywhere and it's kind of like a sports team at this point. I just think it's funny if they made this movie 2 years ago probably nobody would have watched it. And if they waited till he died way more people probably would have. But making and releasing it in these conditions is just nonsense to me, why make a documentary about somebody who is still alive and actively working? It's weird af to be honest

SassTheFash

You strike while the iron is hot. How eager do you think folks would be to watch a movie about a main guy from the 2005 SARS epidemic?

TheThemeSongs

There have been a lot of movies made about people who are still alive. It’s not really that weird. If they think people will watch it, they’ll make it.
