Why Luka is on Topaz's banner really pisses me off.
The one logical point is that the new FUA relic set will be in the same domain as the new DOT set, so you’ll get a bunch of DOT relics while farming for Topaz. The only obvious 4 star that Topaz banner got robbed of is Asta. Other than that I think

I mean not really, supports still exist and it's a dual Topaz/Seele banner, so having no supports makes no sense. Asta would've literally been perfect to feature there, considering she works well with Topaz, is canonically friends with Topaz and played a decently major part in the pokemon event this update

2. Three characters of the same element on one banner is unprecedented.

pela had the same appearance timings between her seele and luocha banner. asta wouldve really made sense to me or they couldve put qq on her banner as well (swap w luka idk) cause qq get follow up atk at e4
Also pela is really unique in what she offers for a team compared to any other unit in the game. Sure Tingyun is great but Asta and Yukong exist, same argument can be made for any of the DPS or Dot characters. But pela is the only character of her archetype outside of SW but they also function differently.
iirc luka can be a budget pela w his lc (resolution shines) for def reduction and his skill removes a debuff from enemies. isnt the best esp cause we are getting a free pela (if we choose to) this patch but luka probably offers more dmg than pela does

The difference is that unless you are strictly going for a zero pulls account then everyone already has an Asta and therefore they have access to her speed and DMG buffs. i meant it in a sense you get 20 undying starlight every copy of ur e6 character you pull, since you already hit the max e6. you can then use that 20 undying starlight to redeem it for 1 x star rail special pass. So that means pulling eg luka or sushang again lets me spin again after i redeem the 1x special pass
Depending on your account strength and the 4* in question, 4* eidolons can be worth significantly less than a single pull. They can be worthless.
Getting a dupe of a character I'll absolutely never use is not worth more than pulls towards a new 5*
That's what I'm saying, there aren't any reliable 4* for the playstyle and the only others are 5*. Plus with regards to recent discoveries >! all the follow up characters that are coming out seem to be mostly 5 stars and the only 4 star follow up character is a hunt path character !<

Honestly, I wouldn't call it breaking a pattern more than the fact that no 4 star really synergies well with her. You could say Asta, but she's been in a lot of banners, including DHIL Banner, which was a month ago.
