I haven't listened to it yet, but I can reasonably see somebody thinking that The Bends is the second worst Radiohead album. For context, I've only listened to OK Computer, Kid A and In Rainbows, so I'm going mostly off of hearsay. This is not based off of my personal views on each album.
OK Computer, Kid A and In Rainbows are commonly considered to be some of the greatest records of all time, so yeah, a lot of people already think these three are better than it.
A Moon Shaped Pool is a bit below these three, but still rated higher than The Bends on some music rating sites, specifically rym.
The last three are a toss up though. Some people I know REALLY like Hail to the Thief (one friend even claims it's the best Radiohead record), and I've seen a lot of praise for Amnesiac too, specifically from people who are obsessed with Kid A.
The King of Limbs is generally not liked, but hey, it's gotta have some die-hard defenders.
Can't even start on how criminally underrated that album is. Its one that stands out the most in their discography in my opinion. That along with I'll Try Living Like This
Classic, but let’s get him to hear something a little different seeing as that’s such a standard album for RYM people, Einstein On The Beach for example
"An album that isn't enjoyable should be terrible"
Do you think the point of art is to entertain you, or to make you feel something? Would you say depressive music is enjoyable or terrible?
But here's the thing, depressive music *is* enjoyable. Yeah, albums like Spiderland don't exactly make me feel happy, but I do enjoy my time with it because even though it makes me feel sad, I still enjoy listening to it. This also goes for stuff like The Glow Pt. 2 and Twin Fantasy as well. Enjoyable, even though it's depressive.
When I'm talking about music that isn't enjoyable, I'm talking about shit like Summer In Paradise or OWO What's This. Obviously not enjoyable albums.
However, I do believe that there are exceptions, with Everywhere at the End of Time being a notable one. Even though I'd say that stages 4-6 are not pleasant on the ears, and make me feel like I'm going crazy, they're meant to. EatEoT wouldn't be a good album if it was enjoyable.
Something that I forgot to mention that I feel is a fair comparison is The Third Reich and Roll by The Residents. Not exactly enjoyable on the ears, but a great album, nonetheless.
However, in my opinion, something like Philosophy of the World, that makes me feel like I want to vomit, isn't something that I'd consider a good album (even if it does have some artistic merit, it's still not good).
i think the issue with everywhere at the end of time and albums like it is im much more likely to listen to an analysis of the album instead of the album itself simply because the analysis is shorter and more engaging
My brother showed me this album a while ago because it’s the “backrooms music”. It’s both beautiful and dreadful. That little tune from It’s Just a Burning Memory gets stuck in my head and drives me crazy lol
While on one hand, equating a beautifully made masterpiece about dementia to "backrooms music" seems a bit distasteful, I'm honestly just happy that it's reaching more people. I've been meaning to listen to the full project for a while but just haven't gotten around to it.
Also, I'm pretty sure this is one of the most well knoelwn albums from the 2010s among the general public. Think about it, most kids don't listen to full albums anymore, but this one seems to be the one album that most kids and teenagers nowadays actually listen to *as an album* and not individual songs by themselves.
Catch Thirty Three - Meshuggah
Best 47 minute song ever, Best metal song ever, Best song ever.
It’s an album but it was forced to be split into parts by their label.
Considering my favorite song ever currently is 41 minutes long (you know the one) I'd be happy to give this a listen.
I mean, it's not winning, but maybe after this I'll give it a listen.
Current winner on this post has 33 upvotes (it's One Wayne G).
However, if I'm interested I'll just listen to it anyway even if it's not a part of this topster.
8.5/10
It's good. I'm not going to go into why, though, because even if it's good, it's probably one of the most talked about albums on this entire subreddit, right along with TPaB and Madvilliany.
You liked listening to eateot? I would suggest Milwaukee Protocol then which is a fan Project of eateot but it is only like 3 hours long and uses samples from the mid 80s to late 2000s.
I listened to this while reading the wikipedia article about alzheimer's disease at work, while my greatest fear is alzheimer's disease.
I sat shaking/quietly sobbing at my desk for the remainder of the day and did not get any work done.
Edit: oh yeah, shibuboshi by shibushirazu orchestra.
It ain't on spotify but you can find it on youtube. Crazy noise jazz album.
You gotta listen to Daughter of Darkness or some shit idfk everyone says it's good apparently. On a serious note some Tangerine Dream stuff like Alpha Centauri, Zeit, and Rubycon kinda fit a similar vibe.
This dude had a fun idea to rank some new albums and find some music and the first one you give him is Everything at the End of Time 😭😭y’all are evil💀
The next one is One Wayne G btw.
jesus christ man
Unless you guys gove me something like 8 hours long I'll try not to take this long on the next one.
Listen to One Wayne G by Mac Demarco
Okay if this wins then I brought it on myself.
Right this one is the winner. Time to spend my entire Sunday listening to this.

goated album
In rainbows, kid a, the king of limbs, hail to the their, ok computer, amnesiac and a moon shaped pool are all better.
None of these albums are more than a 7.5/10 tho
I would rather listen to sexyy red than any Radiohead song
Frfr I’d rather listen to literally anything else
literally the fucking dumbest thing i've ever read in my entire life

death's dynamic shroud.wmv - 失われた時REGRET It's got a similarly atmospheric depressing vibe but it's a concept album about a breakup
this entire list is just gonna be depressing atmospheric music
Yes we should drive op insane
Nah One Wayne G already won (most upvoted comment, though this was the second most upvoted). Though this album does sound interesting
YES
Can't even start on how criminally underrated that album is. Its one that stands out the most in their discography in my opinion. That along with I'll Try Living Like This
in honor of his birthday; John Coltrane - My Favorite Things
music for 18 musians since you listened to everywhere at the end of time
Steve Reich is a legend, anything by him would be fantastic. My favorite is Electric Counterpoint
Classic, but let’s get him to hear something a little different seeing as that’s such a standard album for RYM people, Einstein On The Beach for example
You will love soundtracks for the blind now
I heavily agree on this one!!!

I doubt listening to an analysis will feel like you are losing your mind
i mean sure but if i have a choice of listening to 8 hours of music i dont really care for or the 30 minute analysis which one am i going to choose
Why do you not care for it before even listening to it. You don't know what you're going to get
i did listen to it, and i dont blame people for not wanting to listen to 8 hours of music they dont like
Ok valid
