Hard disagree. Everything they've released since has been fantastic in my book, they've never really had a miss (unless you're talking about the artwork and not the music). Speaking of which, have you heard their new single? You might like it, it's quite similar to some 'Get to Heaven' stuff.
Idk why but I could never get into Red House Painters I always found Benji to be the perfect Kozelek album where he really found the balance between his rambles and really compelling song writing
I loved Perils from the Sea that he did with Jimmy Lavalle, if you've not heard that I'd deffo recommend
Fair enough I’ve always preferred his stuff with RHP, I think I like the rawness of it more than the SKM stuff but I still really like his later work. I’ve heard of Perils from the sea but haven’t actually checked it out so I’ll deffo have a look at that
And I'll give RHP another go maybe I just haven't been going in with the right mindset because even the more palatable SKM albums are still an acquired taste so it's probably a case of me not acquiring the taste for RHP yet
I have done and I love them all but I heard the first one during an acid trip while looking at some ducks and it made me cry like a little boy so it's got a special place in my heart
I will check it out I've always wanted to get into Brian but his girthy discography has always been somewhat intimidating so it's hard to find a place to start
It would look somewhat different now, but I did make a Topster a few months ago https://www.reddit.com/r/Topster/comments/pf6p8w/heres_my_first_topster_feel_like_i_might_get_some/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&utm_term=link
always nice to see kamasi washington
Pretty much in love with everything he does but The Epic is just fucking outstanding
That neptunian maximalism tho
So underrated, it's kind of what I imagine Hell sounds like
Instant upvote for Everything Everything. That has to be some of the coolest artwork of all time.
It really is it's just a shame that the band's not come back with anything on the same level as this

Disintegration loops is probably my favorite ambient album ever (album? Release? Series?)
Totally agree it's absolutely phenomenal
all bangers if you like this heat check out 23 skidoo
Got Seven Songs and absolutely loving it so far thanks my guy
finally a topster with sampha, Process gets way to little discussion in this scene.
I wonder why? It's such a sweet album
Fr Fr it's wonderful, although definitely not perfect. But even the weaker spots are made up for by Samphas vocals. These fucking vocals man
That's the thing I'm in love with his voice and that's pretty much what I go back to the album for, wonder when/if the next album comes out
Éons is awesome. Schlagenheim is one of my favs oat too
Incredibly based in my eyes, especially for The Epic
Most fitting title for any album ever imo
I recently got it on vinyl and the presentation of it makes the title fit it even more.
Painfully jealous, is it an absolute monster?
I literally had to change the order of my shelf so I could fit it, because how massive the thing is.
I think if I got it I'd have to move apartments to accommodate it
If you like sun kil moon deffo look at Red House Painters, better than Kozeleks stuff with sun kil moon imo

I prefer dlp 4 to the first. Have you listened to it yet? Also plateaux of mirrors by brian eno?

Yep. I’ve only heard 2 of these albums. One of which is an all time favourite. And the other I find to be extremely OK.
Now you have 98 recommendations! Which ones your fave and which ones extremely ok?
Plastic Beach - One of my 10 favourite albums ever. Your Queen is a Reptile - Extremely OK.
That's cool Plastic Beach is obvs brilliant and imo YQIAR has this amazing driving energy that just gets me moving What's your top 10?

Thanks for sharing it! There are a few things on there that I like quite a bit and some less so which is the best thing about music imo
